+That Third World Guy Hard to drive? Flat nose trucks are harder, you can't see the front of your truck, you have to look at a mirror for that and the cabin is bouncing around.
The switches all has a purpose trust me and the insulation both thermal AND Noise on the engine cover is often occupied by a portable fridge in Australia at least.
As an American truck driver, I can tell you the last 2 rigs you have driven have been pretty spot on, in the K100, that center area is empty for access to the sleeper, it's intentionally empty and soft.
very close modeling. My father had several k100 kenworths from 1980 until the mid 1990s. My favorite was his 1981 K100 Aerodyne powered by a 380hp 3406a caterpillar engine with a 13spd gearbox. K100s had factory a/c and dual fans mounted in the center of the windscreen.
The game supports quite a few controllers. I know SCS (the makers of ETS) have been sent a TON of hardware by Logitech to make sure their games work with it properly so Logitech gear is pretty well supported. Ultimately, if it works in MS Windows as a game controller then it will most likely work in ETS.
I just wanna say thank you squirrel for making this video, I've watched your euro truck simulator videos for a VERY long time. So again thank you for making this video and thank you for driving the Kenworth K100 in this one!!😃😃✌👍
The K100 is a great all around truck I owned one with a double sleeper, 3408 cat engine, and a RTO 13 speed transmission, with 411 gear rear-ends set up for heavy-haul nd did that very nice. I loved the truck.
One of the best simulation gameplay videos + commentary that I've seen. I actually enjoyed sitting here for about an hour just wanting you move shipments across the UK.
This might be late but squirrel i share your love for this truck i saw it a lot in my local hobby shop and never wanted to pick it up but after this video i fell in love with it and i am going to get it
You should have tried adding Load lights to your trucks for backing they are usually placed on the rear of the cab corners so that they shine down to the back of the trailer, No more blind spots or shadows.and road lights on the bumper will allow better lighting than overhead. Green fog lights are for rain and yellow for fog and snow.
Hey Squirrel, yes Kenworths are bright like that and yes they are air conditioned, and the middle between the seats is the engine tunnel. The latest Kenworth to be released in Australia in a cab over version (K200) has now been raised and the tunnel has been removed and is walk through, similar to the euro trucks.
The color inside is about right, it was wood tone. The padding was so you didn't beat your knees up getting into the sleeper. It also help on cutting the noise down from the engine. I haven't seen one in about 20 years. Cab-overs aren't that popular in the states anymore.
Squirrel, the inside of the truck is very authentic, obviously you would be able to mix and match colors and such, but the inside is pretty much spot on. That big center piece in the inside is actually covering the engine, so that's why it seems like wasted space. Loving the series, would be cool to see you drive the old school Peterbilt!
I've become somewhat addicted to watching these simulator videos to the point where I've actually started to develop a British accent when I speak English. I swear on my nuts I am not making that up.
The kenworth cabover was very popular in the states in the 1970's and 1980's. Since space was limited they did more with interiors like the buttoned headliner leather wrapper wheel. The quilted area in between the seats can't be utilized because the engine block is directly beneath the quilted area. The cabov
The steering wheel it would've had from factory is white, not chrome with the leather steering wheel cover. Quite nice, its usually white on the inside though, not black, it its still nice
iv been in many kenworths at that interior is loosely based on the old early 70's to mid 80's k120 - k125 but at the same time it reminds me of the old cab over freightliners like the FLB's
You could order them back then with Cat, Cummins or Detroit engines, The huge flat area between the seats is called the "Dog House". It was the engine cover, since the engine was mounted forward under the cab. Back then as well as now no American truck manufacturer made a 750hp engine on the American Continent.
It is a VERY bumpy place to sit, lol. My dad uses the passenger seat in his current truck as a storage area (they make carriers to put over the seat back to hold items). Newer trucks usually have the passenger seat be air-ride (air suspension, like the driver seat), but people just habitually don't sit there; normally in US trucks, if you're not driving, you're in the back, sleeping.
Just google "euro truck sim 2 patch" and the first link will be one to the official download page with patches on it. If you're on Steam it updates automatically.
I already have a deadzone on my throttle paddle on my joystick. That's not the issue. The issue is a mod conflict that gives rise to this bug. It doesn't matter if you try turning your engine off either - the truck keeps on reversing.
One possible workaround could be to buy a flight sim throttle quadrant, like the Saitek Pro Flight 3-lever Throtte Quadrant. Use one lever for throttle, one for brake, and the last for whatever suits you. For emergency braking, assign one of the buttons on you Logitech wheel to the brake function, and you'll be able to brake hard when you have to - just remember to cut the throttle as well. Just a suggestion :)
just started watchin yer vids luv it mate,I ran over 150k in a cabover KW 2 tone blue 1992,that one you got is spot on,yea the cat engin sounds unique we'ed luv to play the game, ive driven over 2 mil miles all over the US.keep it up
My dad is a US truck driver, has been for about 35 years. That said, I've spent a lot of time in trucks of all kinds, shapes, and sizes. That "quilted" area that you feel could have recessed areas can't; that's where the engine is, and there really isn't much space between the engine and where you rest your arm. Those trucks can be hot, loud, but they're nice because they turn tighter, and you're always the first one to the scene of the crash ;) If you wanna know about US trucks, hit me up.
Just so you know that box between the sets we in the states call a dog box. That's were the motor is. There really is not that much room in there to add cup holders. We just get cup holders that hang off the door.
"Vintage Look" because it is vintage. The KW K100 was manufactured from the Late 70's to Early 80's. There aren't too many of them on the road in the US because drivers prefer the 'conventional' truck now (with the long nose). But I actually found one about 2 years ago for about $800 US, fully functional and would pass the DOT inspection. Wish I had bought it now... :(
I had that reverse bug too with the W900. I figured out why it does that. Those oversized trailers have their own physics. I deleted the one I had and never had the problem again.
Have grown up with this truck its is dead on the center is called the dog house and is clearance for the motor (if you grab the handles on the front under the winshield it lifts the cab to work on the motor) if the truck was a conventional KW that hub would not be there the interior is identical to the older KW (k-Wobbler as we call it) my favorite...
I have over 20 trucks and about 15 are K104's and 3 K104B's. There pretty on top of the pimping. The dash raps more around the driver and the colour is about right. under the right lower corner of the steering wheel there is a black rectangle. That is the A/C control. all the light controls and normal things you would find on a stick behind the wheel are controlled by switches. and the quilted area is acualy a hump over the engine.
Squirrel my dad owns many Kenworth trucks, and the interior of the older models have a wood dash and look about like that one. But has the steering wheel of the w900 you drove last episode.
My dad took me to work and I got to be in the back but I do know what the switches are. Mind you this was exactly about 4 years ago. 2011. come are for aux. some are for cabin controls and extirer controls and that all I can remember.
I belive that the sound was put in by the mod creator. It seems correct to me, but I haven't heard the W100 irl but from the bits I've heard on the internet, seems accurate enough.
If only someone made the peterbilt truck that looks just like that one, and did it up with an optimus prime skin. my life would be complete to see Squirrel drive that.
Disk brakes are usually on small cars but on trucks and other big vehicles there are drum brakes as the rear brakes and sometimes the front brakes are disk because the front brakes only stop about 30% of your vehicle and the other 70% is handled by the rear brakes. P.S.(I may not be totaly accurate but anyone can correct me!)
Squirrel Ok, I think I should tell you, old video or not, and probably know, but if not, the, with all due respect, "wasted space" is actually the engine compartment.
+TheHitchslap Engines are in the middle. It it were under the seat than they would need to add more drivetrain, and they would need room for the doors, steering, etc
My uncle drove one of these a couple of times. The engine sits right up to the bottom of the quilting in the middle (with a firewall between, obviously), There really isn't any room for pockets there, and some of them tend to transmit heat pretty badly. The interior livery is bright, from the models I've seen. Fake wood, with leather wrap on everything else.
that wasted space you are talking about is a comfortable place for the "lot lizards" to rest LOL. but seriously the dash panel looks pretty close to real life. it is a simulated wood grain panel. As for the switches you would have eng. brake on/off-hi/low, diff lock, fifth wheel lock/unlock, air suspension dump, lights, etc. we like switches here in the states, gives us something to play with going down the road.
Hi Squirrel! Thanks for all of your hard work posting your vids! You manage to make this seemingly mundane game a whole lot of fun. I'm hooked. I like these Kenworth mods but wondering if you know of anyone doing a Mack mod. I'm in Mack country in Pennsylvania and would love to see a Mack Pinnacle or Titan series truck. Pass it along to your modding friends if they haven't thought of it yes! Keep up the great work!
Watching this has made me really yearn for American Truck Sim; although I hope it's on a bigger scale than Euro Truck Sim if they ever actually make it. It's probably unrealistic to hope for but it would be great if a journey across the States took five or six hours real time, or even longer.
Im the only one who prefers the long nose truck? I know its hard to drive, But they look Amazing
+El Gamer No tan cutre Yes you are.
No you are not. I love them as well
long noses are as easy to drive as flatnoses, if you have ats and saved up for a W900, you get the feel of where the front of your truck is.
+That Third World Guy Hard to drive? Flat nose trucks are harder, you can't see the front of your truck, you have to look at a mirror for that and the cabin is bouncing around.
I like euro truck simulator 2
That "waste of space" is where you put the massive 750 hp V12.....
officialbazaargaming you mean straight-6 cuz that's a D16G Volvo engine
The switches all has a purpose trust me and the insulation both thermal AND Noise on the engine cover is often occupied by a portable fridge in Australia at least.
The quilted area in the middle is where the engine is :)
Unless you want a drink warmer, it is what it is XD

Squirrel: Have I been to Stuttgart? I don't think I've been to Stuttgart.
Me: You're in Stuttgart.... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
I live near Stuttgart😂
I am glad I found your series Euro Truck, I know have something else to watch, thank you for doing the series, keep it up Sir

looks like they tried to do a wood tone for the dash and the "dog box" (engine cover in the center of the seats) is pretty accurate
Guy who made is Russian I think

Mods can't add to the available trucks so they have to replace one already in the game.
4:09 That isn Waste of Space, Because in there is the Engine :D
This is the first video I saw from him, over 3 years ago. This video is what first got me started with simulators.
@nagasako7 right you are, you could see the T1000 chasing John Connor by riding this truck in Terminator 2
That space in the middle of the cabin is the engine, it's so big it extends into the cabin
One of the best simulation gameplay videos + commentary that I've seen. I actually enjoyed sitting here for about an hour just wanting you move shipments across the UK.

I kept waiting for Optimus to transform and kick some s***. Ah well, can't win them all :P
I am so getting that truck mod though.
LOL!! u know it dude! : "megatron must be stopped.....no matter the cost!" (cue stan bush's "you've got the touch"!!)

That's the majestic engine sound and the indicator sound Paul
I'm the fan of an old Kenworth k100 it reminds me of my uncle during his present days.
I love the truck same as frieghtliner Argocy

Squirrel That truck is More or less along the same lines as the model for the 1980s Optimus Prime from the The Original Cartoon
Worlds shortest job? I've seen 1 minute :3
Just so you know that box between the sets we in the states call a dog box. That's were the motor is. There really is not that much room in there to add cup holders. We just get cup holders that hang off the door.
On another note, thank you for your healthy respect for truckers, and your admiration for American trucks
I wouldn't drive a truck in real life the way I do in a game. It's a sim but you can still have fun doing crazy things.
Yes believe it or not that's the stock interior circa 1970's. This truck was made famous in a TV show also in the 1970's called BJ & The Bear
Squirrel I Love Your Euro Truck Videos , Keep On Truckin
Your right about pulling a house I saw people moving a house and it was this truck lol :)

I remember all these vids. They were so simplistic
That's really how they looked my grandfather drove on just like it with the woodgrain trim cool old truck!
love how to trailer clips through all the motorway signs
I like it, it's pretty much the first one with two new locations, and slightly expanded maps, etc. So if you've played the first one there ya go.
That's some old school trucking. K100 is retro 1979. Welcome to America.
Ain't that the truck from Terminator judgment day?
"I don't think I've been to Stuttgart" says that while in Stuttgart.
Squirrel my dad owns many Kenworth trucks, and the interior of the older models have a wood dash and look about like that one. But has the steering wheel of the w900 you drove last episode.
I'll probably watch it again when its in 1080! I love these videos!
That Rev counter looks similar to the 1980s and 90s Volvo revcounter, just without the colour coding from 1500rpm+
That "Volvo" dealership is the Majestic dealership where you bought the Kenworth.
Seeing these trucks makes me want to be a trucker
There are 2 parking spot of the Quarry , also try putting on the GPS on to the pick up .
Hey Squirell !I'amone of you'r fans . I'm from Morocco but i watched and still watching all you're videos ! Thank you
That truck pulls it like there's nothin on the back
That quilted "waste of space" between the driver's and passenger's seat is where the engine for the truck is FYI.
My dad took me to work and I got to be in the back but I do know what the switches are. Mind you this was exactly about 4 years ago. 2011. come are for aux. some are for cabin controls and extirer controls and that all I can remember.

The engine specs are those of the best engine in the Volvo FH 16.
What a beast, it keeps on pulling.
that looks about right, but that but in between the seats is used for hydraulics controls if you have a vacuum truck
my dad used to drive a kenworth T950 in australia but drives a western star now he should be getting another kenworth soon
If only someone made the peterbilt truck that looks just like that one, and did it up with an optimus prime skin. my life would be complete to see Squirrel drive that.
That's a hundred percent right interior and everything
Disk brakes are usually on small cars but on trucks and other big vehicles there are drum brakes as the rear brakes and sometimes the front brakes are disk because the front brakes only stop about 30% of your vehicle and the other 70% is handled by the rear brakes. P.S.(I may not be totaly accurate but anyone can correct me!)
Because of the flat front, there is no place to put that hunk of an engine so that's was the dog box is for. It cover the engine.
That looks like the old peterbilt that grandfather drove we still have but he died earlier this week
Reminds me of the Kenworth from Convoy for some reason. Very nice truck, :)
Squirrel Ok, I think I should tell you, old video or not, and probably know, but if not, the, with all due respect, "wasted space" is actually the engine compartment.
I'm sorry, but you lost me.
ok, well for one, that is europe, 2 this is american, 3 he wasn't talking about under the seat.
+TheHitchslap Ok wait, you mean to tell me that the engine is where one of the front tires "should" be???? You Europeans really are quite strange.
***** Lol ok, but I still don't get why the engine wouldn't be right smack in the middle of the front tires like every other front engine vehicle.
+TheHitchslap Engines are in the middle. It it were under the seat than they would need to add more drivetrain, and they would need room for the doors, steering, etc
That quilted area is where the engine is located!

the waste of space area is the part that covers the engine and transmission
Interior is perfect!
pretty accurate, looks kinda weird with the short wheelbase , most of those are on stretched frames in Texas
"The waste of space" is where the engine is located
The big bump in the middle of the cab is the covering of the engine
the truck dealership was actually a majestic
that wasted space you are talking about is a comfortable place for the

I wonder if they have a Freightliner cabover in blue & red...
Another nice LP man! Keep it up!
the bright color is real, it is a wood-grain dashboard that was in most, if not all, kenworth k100's
That "doghouse" between the seats is where the engine is.
Pretty accurate truck here. Source: I own and drive a K100 daily. (well, almost daily)
Also love how you are in Stuttgart, but you're not sure if you've discovered it. :)
True! (thanks for clearing that up)
On the Cabover the load lights are placed on the top of the mirror's still pointed to the rear of the trailer.
I'm seriously considering it
