If I have a bad day at work,I console myself with the thought of watching Alex play. Whether it be jazz or metal, what a legend.and the unreal thing for me is,he's had to train, work his fingers to the bone for years to be at the top of his game, and I can watch it for free.what a great world this is when Alex can be summoned at the press of a button.thankyou Mr skolnick.
This was the perfect backdrop while I changed strings on my guitar - Al is the reason my left pinky is as strong as the rest, trying to figure out (by ear) all those lines from his solo albums. Definitely the soundtrack of my youth, and a major reason the guitar players from my generation are humble when it comes to talking about our own playing.
I've got my Alex Skolnik pick from Manchester England (Brotherhood of the Snake tour) that you gave me in a little frame. You sir are my hero. Love Testament, Billy and the boys.

Can't escape the irony of watching a wonderful conversation about Scientology while Alex plays a Taylor, which is a scientologist company
Al plays a mean Timbale
RIP Al
AL hasn't died.
