Hi Nicole my name is Matt from Northern Ireland. I just bought a Bodhrán and your tutorials are really helpful. I'll update you with my progress.

This video really helped give me an idea of what tippers to purchase! Thank you! I would love for you to make a video to teach the rhythm that you demonstrated beginning at time marker 4:02. Having yet to receive my bodhrán, I would consider it great progress to get that kind of groove going one day in the future! I'm really enjoying your videos and hope that you do a lot more when you get the time.

Hey Nicolle, great video, as always! However, a heads up; I live in the US, and I recently ordered some tippers from Stevie, and he just emailed me and let me know that due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, he is unable to ship my order to me due to US postal service restrictions. Pretty disappointing, but I let him know I'd hang tough until he can ship. So, just an FYI to anybody else here in the states to hold off on ordering until all this blows over.

In my early days of pursuing the bodhran I collected a number of highly refined and elegantly turned tippers in maple, mahogany, cherry etc searching for the one with the right balance and "tone" 🤣 It wasn't until I saw The Tannahil Weavers in a bar show that I was gobsmacked to see the bodhran player (I forget his name, this was in the early '80's... Geese in the Bog/Jig of Slurs was very big at the time among us folkies) using what looked like a pencil for God's sake!! 🤯 😆 From then on my tipper of choice became a simple dowel bought at the hardware store, pine or ash, didn't matter and rubber bands wound around thick enough for my fingers to hang on to... that's it! Better control and sound than the fancy shmancy ones...

Hi Nicole, Thanks for this video. I am looking for bamboo and dowel tippers. I'm rather new to bodhran and have found your videos very helpful. Would you consider showing us how to do the grip you use and single end triplets? Thanks! LauraLee in Minnesota, USA.

Hi LauraLee, how are you finding the bamboo tippers? I've never tried them before. Also, I will be making a triplet video soon!

Why don't you walk me through what you do? Otherwise, we could always schedule a Skype lesson.
