My detector is hard wired but also includes battery place inside and I have inserted a battery in. When the battery is low it complains, am I using a wrong model?
Thank you for making this video and I’ll subscribe to your channel and this helped a lot when I get my new smoke detector from my mom’s house and I don’t have any smoke detectors and my dad’s so thank you because I’m gonna buy smoke detector for my mom house and Dad’s house
Still beeping. Date says 12/23/16 replace in 10 years. I have fully powered down all of them and replaced the battery before plugging them back in.. still beeping. Any suggestions?
Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything else you can do but replace the whole units. If I’m reading your comment correctly, they are eight years old. I know it seems like a pain in the butt, but it’s still a great investment in yourfamily’s safety. Just go ahead and replace all of those smoke detectors. My guess is one of them is faulty and setting the other ones off.
In my jurisdiction "Battery-powered alarms must have 10-year, sealed, nonrechargeable, non-replaceable batteries." Has been the case for like half a decade or more already. I am surprised replaceable battery alarms are still even sold.
Thanks for watching. I was just in a Home Depot yesterday. The current offerings for smoke detectors were replacement battery type, wired type, and 10 year sealed lithium battery type. And then some various smoke & carbon monoxide combo detectors..
Thank you so much never knew to check the back of the smoke detector for the expiration
Glad to help. Thanks for watching 😊🏠

What you have is a very normal setup. If your detectors are over 10 years replace them 👍🏼😊
Thanks,

Yes, bought mine six months ago, so can't be expired yet????
That’s weird. Defective detector?
It ain't the circuitry that goes bad but the detector chamber chemistry
Thank you for this clarification 👍🏼😊 Thanks for watching and taking time out of your day for responding to my video. I appreciate it.
