I live with my parents, but they’re getting elderly, and are slowing down. Ive started to slowly take over the household and one of things I’ve started to get into is making sure they have a pretty garden to look at.

Thank you so much! We just bought our first home, and are learning so much about gardening, let alone all the unknown things one needs to do to care for a house!
I’m a gardening novice; live in north Florida and seems no matter what I do, things are dying on me. I love lavender but it seems to not be doing well in the full sun, but I think I’ve been watering too much. Anyway, it’s great to know these 5 things I can try to find around my area and get planting!!

Hey Laura, I became interested in gardening when we moved to a cooler summer climate (zone 4) that wouldn't give our plants a heat stroke in the summer, but since watching your videos, I have become super excited about expanding my garden. Last year, we redid our front flower bed and planted a bunch of perennials. They received about 6-8 hours of sunlight per day, but we unexpectedly had to remove a huge Elm tree because of Dutch Elm disease and now I'm concerned about the perennials. Now, without that shade, our front flowerbed will be receiving about 12-14 hours of full sun per day, including mid day and late afternoon sun. Should I move all of the perennials? Or will they be ok as long as I pay close attention to water? (panicle hydrangea, bluestem grass, iris, salvia, and peony) Thanks for all your inspiration!
