"Performed during Baldwin Wallace University's 4th Annual Beatles Festival" This is obviously the COOLEST university in the world. Super job guys!! So much energy.
Lifelong Beatles fan here and not someone who isn't picky about Beatles being covered ... absolutely loved this. Thank you for your joy and enthusiasm.
Wow. Some music never dies. I don't recall better cover. Tempo was running off though. Its live and not the combination of best parts from several takes
A hard tune to play. My critique would be that the tempo was kind of all over the place... which was probably a function of over enthusiasm. This piece really requires a disciplined hold on the proper tempo.
Well the version that's on the White Album doesn't stick to a tempo. I'm doing a recording of this tune myself, and when I imported the original track into the session for an easier way to reference the arrangement, both the MIDI piano I had recorded before the import and the click track lined up pretty good for the first few measures, then drifted. I figured I got the tempo wrong but no matter what I did, it would go wildly off every time. Turns out it varies during the verse parts, slows down for both instances of "Hold your head up/hands out", and speeds up for the "Good look around you" part. I tried to use the elastic audio function to quantize it to various tempos between 88 and 94 BPM but it changed the timing of a lot of the notes, rendering it weird to listen to. My solution was to manually add in tempo changes throughout the session. Now, after about 25 tempo changes throughout the session, the MIDI piano lines up perfectly with Paul's playing (MIDI track set to follow tempo grid). But yeah, I do agree they are playing it fast lolz.
Absolutely brilliant performance by all involved. I loved every moment of this. Thanks for this.

This is brilliant.
Gosh I love you people, not least for loving such a wonderful song
It would be great if McCartney came to watch one of these performances, it would probably make them a little nervous though. A fantastic job.
