It's an ego thing. "Every word I type is classified". That's the thinking that creates the problem. I know. That's what it was when I was in the system, and I'm sure it has not changed a bit.
There aren't "forces of classification" and "forces of declassification." This presents a false dichotomy that doesn't really exist. There's a strong need to maintain classification levels, and that's tempered with the need and desire for information to be public when and if it's no longer necessary to maintain its secrecy.

Obviously overclassification is a problem as was very well argued, but I wanted to point out that hiding embarrassments is part of national security. It's about soft power.

Most things stay certified by the date of relevancy some things may be relevant for a short period of time because of ever-expanding technology but some things may be harmful to people so they would be classified till Exemouth of years after their death to not embarrass most people technology stuff probably is the quickest things to fall off the classified list by time that’s when people can go and do afraid of information act and request a copy of the paperwork it’ll still be redacted though

These people are stupid, there is no fourth level that they present. SCI is the type of background investigation that you will go through in order to reach certain information. SCI typically is attached to your Top-Secret clearance as most Top-Secret clearances require and SCI type of background investigation. In addition to this SCI does not necessarily give you access to SAP name programs, as all classed information is need to know basis only. These people have no idea what they're talking about, and it shows.

NO information should ever be classified and ALL classified documents should be promptly declassified. Whistleblowers and journalists should expedite the process. All real journalists agree on this.
