    I’m of Jamaican descent and ever since Fuse ODG blew up those years ago I became insanely obsessed with Ghana. It’s through him that me, a former tap & street dance student discovered I am a very good afrodancer. I quit everything including gymnastics and violin and have stuck to afrodance ever since. It brings me so much joy! Anyway my dear Queen mother surprised me with a trip in December of 2017 and I still believe a piece of my soul stayed there and is waiting for my return ❤😂. By the grace I can make it happen soon. Great content btw! 😄😁

    December is always a vibe in Ghana. Not just the diasporans come here but superstars and celebrities all come to spend the holidays here in Ghana and they all have fun. Last December we had the likes of Meek Mill, Ibiza, T-Pain, Chance TheRapper, Sho Majozy, Shalamen ThaGod, Usher, Burna, Wizkid, Tems , Ayra Star, Mr Eazi, the list keeps going....
    The amazing thing is every year it gets bigger and better💆‍♂️
    Ghana would soon be the desired destination for everyone. Just come and experience greatness 😊❤🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭

    @7:17 the Rastafarian culture in Ghana is older than the slave trade… it’s a very old traditional culture in Ghana especially in the Akan tradition. The spirituality that is practiced by the Akan people is called Akom. In the Akom tradition, when a mother goes to the priest (okomfo) to ask for a baby (maybe because she’s struggling to get pregnant or because she just wants a child of the gods), the priest petitions the gods and some rituals are done to get the lady pregnant. When the baby is born, it’s called bosom ba (child of the gods). Such babies come with strict instructions on how the mother must raise them if not, there will be some consequences. The most prominent feature of a bosom ba is that they are not allowed to cut their hair so they do Rasta. They are allowed to wash and style it though but they have some laws to follow. So it’s quite common to find children of the gods with Rasta, common to find the priests with Rasta as well and common to find others with Rasta for fashion because of the large Rastafari community in the country. Recently a Secondary School lost a court case against some students who for cultural reasons couldn’t cut their hair and had to do rasta… the school wanted to force them to cut but they lost the legal battle against the students.

    • @comahsamuel3969
      @comahsamuel3969 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You really don't understand Rastafarian, deferences between Rastafarian and and dreadlocks and yes the dreadlock is an Africa and Akan culture. Rasta is a believe and Rastafarians don't believe or practice the gods of rivers that you are talking about, the Rastafarians believe the bible and do what's in the bible, they believe that they are children of Israel which means children of Jacob. They believe and worship only one God is the Lion of Judah which is Christ. Komfou and Rastafarian is not the same bro.

    • @goldboateng8073
      @goldboateng8073 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@comahsamuel3969 I don't disagree with you entirely BUT when the TH-camr said "i also noticed the rastafarian culture..." and showed the man with the dreads, i believe he interchangeably used the rastafarian term to refer to people with the natural dreads... Neither him nor i are wrong but you can argue it out that a man without dreads can still be a rastafarian (which i know and agree to) but it's also not far from right to refer to a man with dreads as a rastafarian. From wikipedia, "Rastas emphasise what they regard as living "naturally", adhering to ital dietary requirements, WEARING THEIR HAIR IN DREADLOCKS, and following patriarchal gender roles."
      Also you may have misconstrued my comment... I didn't mean that rastafarians believe in our Traditional Akom spirituality. I was only saying that the Akom tradition forces children of the gods to do rasta (or dreadlocks). I understand that the term rasta/rastafarian may not be the right term to describe the hairstyle or the people wearing the hairstyle but its not entirely wrong either when rastafarians are noted or known mainly for their hairstyle. Anyway, i was referring to the hairstyle not the culture of rastafarians per se, and the part i talked about the rastafarian community in Ghana, i was referring to the real rastafarians who fully believe in their traditions and rasta culture.

    Well done brother. You really enjoyed yourself in Ghana. Everything is spot on based on my own experience too. I think we had a similar experience. I was questioned by security while vlogging. You are right, in most cases, security doesn't bother if you are using your phone. Once they see dlsr camera or tripod, they start to suspect you. I also had a similar experience of the moment I said I am a Nigerian when they ask about my nationality his countenance changed. Anyway, just like you I didn't see just one incident as a problem for the whole of my Ghana experience. Amazing culture, wonderful people, extremely kind and peace-loving. Ghana is a country I love so much too and will surely visit again in the future.

      Yeah it a rule and you must obey and I have seen your vloge too. Nice videos my Nigerian brother. And Wade Maya said sorry for that. It happens to us as citizens also. Ask Maya. But you Nigerian do worse to us till date but we still see you as relatives
      We need borderless Africa and all those rules would be abolished.
      Imagine it in this way.
      You cant vlog in the bank so there are some areas that they should know what you are doing there

    It’s good the negative experience didn’t kill the vibe… I haven’t really met Ghanaians who hate Nigerians yet… and I can’t tell why the guy’s attitude changed. But chale people have issues in this life 😂😂😂 forget him. Nigerians were the second highest contributor ( i think so, I have forgotten) to our tourism in 2021, there are many living here as well so I think many educated and exposed Ghanaians are used to Nigerians but the few that aren’t exposed I don’t know…

    Great content to begin with. However concerning your bad experience, I think you need to know that Ghanaians are lovely people and have always welcomed foreigners awesomely. I just feel whoever gave you that experience has his personal problems due to an encounter with a Nigerian. It’s not a general thing it’s a persona thing.😊

      This statement is my problem. There must be a few bad eggs that ain't enough reason for generalization. I live in Benin City Nigeria, I have met a few Ghanaians who are doing great and at the same time I have seen on two occasions were a few misbehaved by getting themselves into a robbery situation. But guess what? That for me is not enough reason to generalize and say everyone from Ghana act that way. My take, anybody with that mentality should be educated and not supported. My two cent.
