Oh my! The sheer volume of intelligence and witness of the Spirit in this lesson filled me to bursting. My cup truly runneth over. Thank you both. I feel so prepared to dig into these scriptures this next week now that I’m not now afraid. I’ve been worried about it all year long. “If ye are prepared ye shall not fear “ Thank you again.

Thank you so much for all of the time and research that you brothers do to give us a better understanding of all that gives such light to Heavenly Father's broader plan for us.

I learned a lot and gained a new perspective on polygamy - very encouraging towards my understanding of this difficult practice. Thank you for this presentation and ALL the work you did to make it objective and factual and edifying, and with references! You both have wonderful 'radio' voices.

I believe that we are always getting blessings from God because of His mercy and love. I think D&C 130:20-21 is very much true in the temple, but not so true in a general sense. God has provided many blessings to me that I do not believe I am worthy of, yet he blesses me, just the same. If we take this scripture as always true in every case, then we must earn our blessings, including exaltation, but that is not true, because we are "saved by grace, after all we can do." (2 Nephi 15:23)

We are the children of Elohim, but there are many scriptures that indicate that we must become the sons and daughters of Christ so that we can be joint heirs with Him (Romans 8:17). It seems that this has a connection to the baptism of fire and the holy ghost (like the people of King Benjamin - Mosiah 5:7 - we become the "children of Christ"). I am still not sure on how these relationships work...

Fanny Algiers was 14 years old when she married JS. It is hard to understand how any one would feel any girl that age would be ready for marriage. No wonder the marriage failed!

Hello, Patrick! Thanks for watching! Fanny was actually somewhere between 17 (at the earliest) and 20. We don’t know the precise marriage date, but it could not have been before 1834 (Fanny was born in 1816). You might be thinking of the eternity-only sealing to Helen Mar Kimball (Helen was 14). And while 17-20 still might seem young to some, I married my wife when she was 19, and we’ve been happily married for almost 30 years now. Good discussion!
