Amazing! I had a big smile on my face watching this one. The whole event looked so well organised with the extra events too. The Berlin marathon is great but its SOO busy as the weekend is shared with the runners, this looked a bit more chill. Congrats completing it in a great time, glad you had fun!!
They do shorter runs during this event but they start and are done before the main marathon skaters start. There is also the option to do a combined skate, Half + Full on skates.
I haven't been skating for about 20 years. Seeing you enjoying to skate and smiling the hole time brings back my feelings skating 2 decades ago. I know exactly, why you are smiling and I can't wait to get my skates! Love your videos! Smiling greetings from germany!
I am so glad I found this video. I moved to MN almost 3 years ago. I debated on picking up inline for a while to lose weight and find something fun to do, other than sit inside all day. I didn't know there was a marathon especially this close to me. I'm just starting out, hopefully soon when this weather gets better. Now I have something to look forward to and have part of this as my goal.
What a beautiful scene. Great job finishing with a strong time on an unfamiliar setup. A good group of people skate and bike the LA Marathon early before the race starts. Could be a fun thing to consider if you're comfortable skating in lower light conditions (I believe it is mostly well light from street lights but I haven't skated it yet-2022 or 2023 forsure)
I did the 1/2 last year on quads, and am doing the same this year. I was looking for a POV, but your video was so well done, that I watched all of it, and it made me smile! Good luck this year if you're going!
This makes me miss the midwest so much! Warm, genuine people and open, green land...thank you for posting this. Wishing you and your cramped legs well!
Burr! Looks like it was a blast! Glad you found your frames! Apparently you need some skate poles! Downhills with so many people looks sketch! Lol Butch needs a helmet. 🤪
Man, this is really inspiring. I had thought about doing a marathon skate, but didn't think it would be possible. You looked like you had a blast and everyone seems so chill.
Congratulations! Looks like it was amazingly fun. Sorry to hear about the cramps in the last mile. I’ve been taking LMNT electrolyte mix whenever I go skate. Maybe that’ll help you next time. Also looks like you kept up a great pace. You looked smooth out there.
@@drleishaoboTrue. I was looking into it then I saw that it was more on Speed racing marathon unlike this one where any level can participate and have a blast. 😁
I did a half skate marathon at the NYC Skate Marathon in September. I would definitely like to do a full marathon at the Northshore inline Marathon. Thank you for sharing.
I was hoping to find out how fast you got the maximum going I get the same speed as my 90mm guess I will have to wait and see for myself that's if you are planning to go back next year it looks like so much fun I'm in for next year would like to see my time I have to slow down to cross streets Glad to see you accomplished your goal. Did mine didn't know how fast to pace myself could have went a little faster. Hope to see you next year
Congrats on completing the marathon! To help prevent cramps, you probably needed to push more electrolytes. My daughter's long distance running coach told her to dilute gatorade with water in half, or some drink like that, and drink it during entire event. That helped her from cramping while long distance running. Should help you in your next marathon! I've never done a skating marathon. I should try it, since it looks like a lot of fun.
Congratulations on the marathon bro. Looks like a whole lot of fun. Definitely feeling inspired to give it a try. It looks like you captured the event really well. I love what you did with the speed ramping too. Was this all shot on go pro? Footage looks great 👍
@@ThirtyandRollin nice man you did a great job with it. I love camera gear but thus just shows you how you can still make dope content with a basic setup. Do you use an external mic with your go pro or is that straight outta camera?
Nice video! I’m going back to rollerblading after 10 years. Just got the last Rollerblade Maxxum 125mm 3WD size 11.5 a couple of weeks ago. These are amazing! I’m really happy with my selection. I noticed your liner is black. Is it Rollerblade or you got different brand that fits your Maxxums? I really enjoy your videos. I’m located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Always nice weather to roll!! 😜😎
Dude, this is awesome! I’ve never seen a rollerblading marathon before! Much different and more laid-back vibe than a running marathon, which I’ve done. What kind of average speed were you able to carry? I assume you were able to finish in
My son and I have been training for an 60 mile skate and I don’t leave home without one thing. Electrolit (Electrolyte Beverage). It far surpasses any other electrolyte drink and it is sugar free. After 20 miles I drink half and the other half 1/2 when we finish. No leg cramps or body soreness. Also, water, water, and more water.
Did you pop a bottle of ibuprofen after? Bet you couldn't move for a week afterwards I wonder your time with 125mm wheels. It definitely would have shed 10 or 20 minutes off
I feel sorry for the people in $50 skates with 72mm 78a wheels doing 26 miles Compared to the guys with the 4x110 or 3x125 hydrogens breezing through this in 2 hours

It was! Can't wait to go back someday.
I guess I will try this on my Twister 110 in a year or two. My back is cramping just thinking about skating 26.2 miles non-stop.
You crushed it, honestly, 3 x 110 is ideal! Setup looks great!
Yes I love the 110 height. Just wish the frame was longer.
@@ThirtyandRollin This is why I love the endless frame, gives you that length, and the weight of 3 x 110 is perfect for long distance!
@@thestutteringskater Love that frame for that reason!

Thanks for posting, great footage! I skated in this race too. It was my 4th inline marathon. Keep training man!
Good job, you're making us proud!
Thank you!
Congrats! The Mrs. and I skated this marathon back in 2000 and 2001. It was great fun!
Fond memories! Thanks for recording + sharing. Couldn't agree more: it was definitely a blast.
Absolutely love that. There is one coming up in the UK soon, couple of hours away from me, but this is the motivation I needed. 💪

There is a Canadian roller marathon in Montreal. But it's looping in a race track, not as fun as this one.

Wow! Very proud of you, B! That looked like a wonderful time.

You got this!
The roads look nice and smooth. I suppose they have to be pretty smooth for the plows and all the snow in the winter..
It was super smooth! Minus the cracks and tar snakes.
What a great experience to share with us. Thanks for such a cool edit. ❤️ from Sunset Beach California

Where are you doing your distance training? I’m in Cedar Hills Beaverton.
I was connecting Fanno Creek and Cook Park trails together down and back and then some neighborhood skating to make 22-26 range.
looks epic! maybe one day I can try it
Good job! Apart from more training (better fitness)... is there anything that can be done/eaten/drunk to help against calve cramps??
I have heard maybe more potassium prior to the race.
Inline marathon is not easy, but I respect you for your hard work.
Thank you!
This was great, loved watching it. Where did you find your wheels?
They ended up getting mistakenly packed up in the Rollerblade Demo van. One of the Rollerblade guys found them as we were packing up the show.
how much harder doing it with 3 x 110 compared to your "almost misesed" 3 x 125?
Not much harder. Just a tad less momentum. This course was super smooth so didn't need bigger wheels to smooth it out.

Are these the best for cruising around ? Why did you pick those for the marathon ?

I went for the largest 3 wheeler I could. Smooth rolling and high momentum.

Yes I am thinking of how I want to offer instruction currently.

that is 4:10/mile pace. Honestly I usually BIKE at that speed. That is my interval pace on skates, totally gassed under 1 mile.
