Here's a basic description of the home row finger positions:
Left Hand:
The left pinky finger rests on the 'A' key.
The left ring finger rests on the 'S' key.
The left middle finger rests on the 'D' key.
The left index finger rests on the 'F' key.
Right Hand:
The right pinky finger rests on the ';' (semicolon) key.
The right ring finger rests on the 'L' key.
The right middle finger rests on the 'K' key.
The right index finger rests on the 'J' key.
The thumbs are usually positioned over the space bar, ready to press it when needed.
Additionally:
F and J keys usually have small raised bumps or markers to help users locate the home row without looking at the keyboard.
