It's just, depending on the genre, words can be archaic, speech patterns structured to sound cute, etc. It's like how people don't go around speaking like Hollywood characters. Regarding your example, バカ is used by adults too. It's just won't be something childish like 「お兄ちゃんのバカ！」(Onii-chan's an idiot!) and instead something more natural, such as 「バカなこと言うな。」(Don't say such stupid things.)

It's Teenage Boy's Isekai Power-Fantasy: The Anime. It's rational to be exasperated by it. It's not rational to hate it. Personally, I think the main-character and his fawning harem is so ridiculous on so many levels that it makes the series so bad it becomes good. It's entertaining. For all the wrong reasons, but it's entertaining.
