1:46 wait no i'm actually so obsessed with THIS scene. PARTICULARLY the pan up to the statue, the way we linger on it as Elio muses to himself. but the cherry on the cake is the pan back down to Oliver and Elio, slowly making their way back to each other. something about it is so viscerally sad and innate and contemplative and nostalgic. the colors, the hazy filter over the footage, and THE MUSIC. i rewind it over and over again
This movie is a whole aesthetic and vibe. I love to play it on the background while doing other stuff around my house. I just love the calming and natural ambience it brings each second as a plus during sunny and fresh days.
The first time I read this book and watched the film was last summer, and I literally don’t think I will ever forget that summer because of Call Me By Your Name :’)
“Is there anything you don’t know?” “(Heheh) I know nothing Oliver.” ... “Well, you seem to know more than anybody else around here.” “Well if you only knew how little I know about the things that matter.” ... “What things that matter?” ..... “You know what things.😏” ... “Why are you telling me this?” .... “..Because I thought you should know” .. “BeCaUsE yOu tHoUght I sHoUlD kNoW?” .. “Because I wanted you to know??” “Because I wanted you to know... (x3)” ..... “Because there’s no one else I can say this to but you.” ... “You saying what I think you’re saying?” *nods* .... “Don’t go anywhere, stay right here.” 🏃 “You know I’m not going anywhere. :)”
I haven't watched the film yet but I was practicing the opening and one guy walked in and asked if it was the piece from cmbyn I said I'd check, turns out it was
I visited Crema this summer. The weather was exactly how it was here, sun scorching down, a cloudless sky. I made a short video th-cam.com/video/oaEAgqzZorw/w-d-xo.html for anyone interested.

The music builds up the two’s growing emotion and stirring feelings towards each other, just like the floating sea waves.
