back in 2009 my dad was in the position of chevrolet showroom manager, just after 2 days of launch of cruze, he brought the car home to get hands on, I was 9 years old, I saw the car, I sat in it, ohhh man the feel the smell. I am owning a Cruze Manual since 2011 Clocking at 1.65 Lakh on Odometer, 14KMPL in City and 17Kmpl on highway. Got flywheel changed once. The leg space as mentioned in video is wrong. The rear passenger are not that comfortable but It is still a beast and can still beat new Honda city, creta petrol, or any other gasoline engine. It is a pure Love 😍 😍

I used to add water instead of coolent as it was leaked and there were many such issues.
It spoiled my college days but I enjoyed it.
The breakpad cost 50k.
The performance was good but hard to manage turbo lg in traffic.

I have Chevi sail 2013 model desail. Almost driven 365000km till no any big issue in my car now also drive the car. Spair part also available in market. Average with AC 19km/ltr. Almost 11 years I drive and a I am happy with this product.

Most people assume the Optra to be a failure but the bottom line is that the car had silently established GM in India. Upon its launch in 2003, it was successful enough to take the competition to the Octavia and Corolla and with timely updates, was slowly closing the gap to them in terms of sales.
Our family had bought two Optra's, both being the global facelifts in 2004 and 2006. Both were solid and dependable apart from being backed with a workhorse-like Daewoo engine and solid road manners.
It was also said that Chevrolet dealers across the South were making tons of profit thanks to the Optra, unlike Skoda dealers in particular who were losing money with each Octavia sold.

I owned a Chevrolet. The biggest problem was engineering was not upto the mark. There were so many breakdowns, coolant leak, ignition coil failure with 40K kms itself. Also, the maintenance was very expensive. Would not recommend. Go for a suzuki, honda or toyota if mechanical quality matters to you.
Daewoo Cielo, Opel Astra, Chevrolet Cruze... alag hi benchmark the apne time ke...will miss all..

I owned the Cruze between 2012 and 2018 and it was rock solid. No problems whatsoever for over a 1,00,000 kms and the issues you reported were non existent.

When I was in class 12, I saw Chervolet Optra SRV. During that time I had zero knowledge about car specs. I only loved with the look of it. Initially, I didn't even know the name of the car. The car I saw was modified with just a spoiler usually seen in rally cars. I dreamt that one day I will buy this car and do same modification. Today's price it would have been around 13-15L I guess, and I can't afford such a high priced hatchback even if it was available in market😅

I also owns a Cruze in the early Diesel engine! Very reliable engine after 140k, not good economy in city, but 20 kmpl in highway. As you said, the electronics and transmission is the most headache, but it is an unmatched car for the price! I live in Sri Lanka!

I had it for 5 years. The first 3 years was fine. After that one after the other things were failing. Transmission failure, fuel pump sealing broke, abs sensor failure, turbo, ac compressor failure, wheel caliper got locked and goes on and on. I had spent quite a bit for the maintenance.
Bur apart from that performance vice itwas actually a rocket and a luxury one at that time. Had lot of good memories with it.
My dad owned a chevy spark 2007.
We use it as a farm car & use brezza as our primary car.
Spark is too much durable & tough car.

Its not for the faint hearted. I own cruze LTZ even today, it eats 20k maintenance every 6 months, drive diesel like water! 10 kmpl milega no matter how you drive. But the build quality is so good, you would not find a car as strong as a cruze even today. Its a car for long road trips. A perfect family sedan but only for car enthusiast.

I own a black VCDI AT 2012 since 3 years. Maintenance is an aspect to look into before buying it. But A Car Like Chevy Cruze has never existed and will never be. It touches 100kms in close to 8.5 seconds.. and It's definitely a Beast on road. Feels like a Plane cockpit ❤

I owned chevrolet cruze 2012 manual diesel, but sold for 2,80,000, biggest issue was ac issue, even after replacement of Rs 13000 electrical part, dealer was not able to solve problem as it reappeared after 2 months, remote boot lid opener replacement cost rs 70000, and the biggest problem after 1,50,000 km engine starting problem
For every visit to chevrolet service center it costed me Rs 1200 for getting problems checked as they would plug laptop for diagnostics, these costs made me sell this car
Performance wise it was the best car till date i have driven, especially when it is in 2nd gear
Braking was the best, these days cars within 20 lakh does not offer such performance and braking power
I own Chevrolet aveo Uva 2012 model and I would say it's performance in any way is best.

I really admire Chevrolet Cruze very much. If you ask anyone which Chevy rocks in. India, the answer is Chevy Cruze. However, it's not an American car, it's a car by GM Korea. It is a Korean car by GM, and it was also sold as Daewoo Lacetti Premier.
Chevy Cruze fails with GM engines only in the long run, specifically its gasoline/petrol engines and its 2.0L VCDi diesel engine which is 2.0L GM Family Z diesel engine. Other engines specifically 1.7L VCDi diesel by Isuzu and two other VCDi engines namely 2.0L Fiat Multijet "VCDi" engine and 2.0L VM Motori "VCDi" engines aren't affected in the long run.
GM never really considered its hatchback Chevrolet Cruze U-VA or Chevrolet Cruze Combi station wagon.

Brother not only optra or spark launched in late 20’s(you forgot captiva,sail,uva,beat,Tavera)my father bought optra magnum LT in 2007 and I must say it was really superb car+powerful and that Diesel engine was 💪🏻+its average was best around 18-20 at that time(and yes I agree optra magnums sale was not up to the mark but it was powerful than lancer,verna,Honda city,Ford Fiesta at that time)in 2007 I took test drive of swift,sx4,lancer and in the last optra magnum and the first thing that blow my mind was it’s looks was 🔥 and pickup was 🚀
But you must note that the original optra from 2005 was just the lowest rung sedan GM could have launched from their line up. Of course Magnum etc came later but the original optra was a massive failure and an ill informed decision

Chevrolet Cruze and Maruti KIzashi met the same fate. Also, we do not appreciate safety features, build quality, driving dynamics in India which of course raise the cost of the car.
Please make a video showing the tradeoff of safety and performance of Tata and Mahindra top selling cars . For Example you can keep a list of cars like Nexon, Scorpio, Safari, Harrier, Thar, XUV 700 and XUV 3XO.
I was working with a Chevrolet dealership and for India launch, for both Cruze and Beat. Event ki jo MC hoti hai, usne bulaya ki " someone from Chevrolet, please come to the stage". Aur company se koii aaya hi nahin huaa tha.😂 So me being the most well read person, who is good in English aur, jisse gaadi ke baare me pataa bhi tha, 1 dealership ka sales manager, usse Dealer principal ne bola ki aap jaao, kuchh poochhe 'MC', to bataa denaa.

I have Cruze 2012 it’s my first car clocked 1.3 laks kilometres just one problem is clutch plates burn so easy except that my car gives mileage of 14kmpl that’s good I did 197 top speed ground to car very comfortable luxury and the best value of money 🎉
I’m a cruze owner no one can predict the actual mileage. Normally my car shows 10-11 mileage but at the same time if I pushed my car for overtaking or some times for fun the mileage gets down upto 6.
And some times on a continue plain highway it gives me more than 15 also i personally prefer it only in the weekends
