I like the Oncidium 😁 as soon as I see spikes I always make sure they can't get stuck in some cases it prevents more buds forming later on

I will try and keep as much of my maxima in tack when I take it out of its pot. It should be all one plant as it was a 4 Pseudobulb division when I originally bought it. I am thinking of putting it on some grape wood when I finally get it untangled.

Thanks for the update, nice display ! What temps do you keep your C. maxima at over the winter if it keeps growing ? Mine seems to stop !

I keep it about 11C(52F) and water less in the winter but I make sure it gets a minimum of 12hrs of light. When the day length fall below 12hrs I will add the add the difference in the morning. In December when the day length is 8hrs and sunrise is at 8, my grow lights come on at 4. My maxima does slowdown in the winter but for the last 3 years it never stops growing. It used to rest in the winter, I don't know if it is the extra lighting, the change in feed (I use K-Lite and Osmocote Pro 8-9 month supplemented with Calcium Nitrate) or a combination of the two but there was a definite change and increase in growth.

Too bad about your maxima, must be time to split it up and start again😀.
