112 locs with freeparts, im a fullhead but experienced thinning when i got retwists too often. If somebody's getting a lot of locs i recommend taking a lot of time between the retwist to let the roots fully thicken up. That way during a retwist your locs won't get thinner.
Season 1: June 2020 - November 2021 - started freeform - drop fade - semi-freeform: started going to a loctition May 2021 - ? loc count Season 2: November 2021 - Current Day - random parts - high top - two strand twist method - 70 locs --> 63 locs (lost 7 in the back bc barber unfortunately cut them off) Season 2.5: November 2023 - Current Day - random parts - mid taper (grew out undercut) - instant loc method - ? loc count
One thing I regret about starting with my dreads is also not doing enough research. I had a lot of hair but didn’t tell my locticion to give me more locs, and I have a high top so my head doesn’t look as full. Luckily I grew out my sides for about 5 months and about to get them locced up in a few days.
I’m on week 7 of Season 2 Locs 😂, I’m staying down fr this time . Even though Season 1 only lasted like 4 weeks cause I went from the Freeform fro to locs & I hated how they looked , the Freeforming beforehand messed them up. So for Season 2, I cut off all the locced parts of my fro before starting my starter coils. It made my hair shorter, like half the length, but the starter locs came out WAY better than the first time when I did it with that already locced hair from my Freeform Afro.
U made me rethink instant locs becuase my hair goes down to my jawline but i heard shrinkage is dum crazy but i also heard that instant locs look natural over time as long as you mist it with water becuase instant locs skip 9 months of the locing process and has barely any shrinkage
My instant locks actually started looking like normal dreads after a year of having them then I cut them off when they got long, I’m light skin tho so it might be different
@@wavvvyadtheir is no traditional process cause not everybody has the same hair texture 😂😂😂 the way a black person with mixed hair can get dreads is by interlocking and using the needle so it doesn’t unravel their gonna turn out the same way I can show a video of what mines look like as well definitely not hard either
I started with comb coils because I didn’t have a whole lot of hair when I started. My first loc journey was good but some of them thinned out so I had to restart but so far they are healthy and I have 32 Locs right now! My mom started the way too and has had her Locs for 10 years🎉
My guy definitely broke this down fa show. I'm on my second set. I have a whole head with 81 locs. I got medium-sized locs and I'm almost at shoulder length. My wife does hair so I don't pay for retwists. 🙏🏾🤣
Technically I’m in season 2 after being natural for 10 years. I had locs for a few years as a kid and I loved them then and knew eventually I’d get them again. I started with twists and I love how they are so far.
i’m currently going through the unlocing phase and plan on reloccing and starting my season two if ain’t nobody told you. you taught the tf out this class
I’m on season 2 of my locs. Season one locs was godly . My change I made was I messed up with the front taper . & my parts left boxes on my head . The restart is worth it 💈
I’m on Season 1, 7 months in and I’m about so get my locs on the sides done in a few days and I’m so excited to transition to the full head. I had been growing out my sides since like February
Season 1, I’m boutta b 2 months on August 15, I gotta low taper on the sides n back, I got 123 locs, I started w 2 strands when my hair was bottom lip or chin length at the front n collar bone length at the back so far I fw it
I'm in Season 1 of my loc journey; started January 2024 with grid parting style. Originally started off wanted to do high-top locs, but now I'm In the process of growing my sides out some to insert an additional row of locs and go with a low/mid-taper haircut. 7 months in and still got a lot maturing and growing to do with my locs.
49 high top locs, almost 2 years in and i know i will have to combine a few of them in the future due to some being a little thinner but my hair is natural thick so im not too worried.
I currently have a high top fade that I've been growing for 2 years now. A month ago i decided i want to get locs so rn I am trying to grow out my sides before I actually get locs, I'ts gonna be a long journey but during this time I'm gonna spend the time doing research on how I want my locs.
I’m glad you coming back but nothing was wrong with your locs in the first place & if you wanna do it the right way I suggest trimming your ends hair will grow more healthy & faster& your locs will grow way locs longer
aye let’s get it bruh 💪🏽 i was so disappointed when you combed out your first set but ik you gotta do what you gotta do. i’ll be 6 months loc’d in this month, my very 1st set!!
just finished combing mine out yesterday….the amount of build up and lint in my hair…this time around im wearing a bonnet everyday no matter what and I don’t plan on using locing gel or any leave in product
i just combed out my hair to grow out my high taper to a low taper. im biracial i have that soft super curly but fine hair so the locs around my edges unravel easily to the point i was considering the instant method but may go with interlocking for journey #2. so in my first journey after trying to loc the locs around my edges for 6 months my loctition just moved my hair from a mid taper to a high taper but now i hate the cut shape lmfao i've spent like 5 months growing out my sides and my back and front taper. so i can get the lowest taper possible.
I’m in season 1 of my locs, I’ve had them for almost a year, and I have 32 of them on the top because at first I had high top locs but then I started growing my back and sides out and I have around 60 of those
Season 1 locs started with a high taper and comb coiled, I have 81 locs but they are pretty thick. I think what I would do different is start with a full head of hair or low taper with no back taper.
Thinking of starting a loc journey. Got curly hair and could definitely see myself with dreads. This video helped a lot. Any tips or recommendations besides this whole video anyone can give me ?
Season 1 Two strand method it’s been a month now I need a retwist I’m just twisting my hair rn and putting mist on it thinking of letting them free-form frm twist doe
If I start over I’m getting 68 max thick locs a low taper with a front taper with crescent free parts but I want them in a way where I can still have a middle part
Season 1, and if anyone had advice I’d appreciate it. I just started my locs and am looking to possibly retwist them myself. I’ve had these for about a month and haven’t washed or retwisted yet. Will crochet hooks help? How should I moisturize, cause I don’t want to spray daily
Season 2 🙏🏽
Ts is just the season 2 trailer
same.
first long ah video i sat and watch in a minute. I fw the content heavy
A lot of good info 🔥💪🏽 Appreciate you though 🙏🏽💪🏽

I’m 2 years into my season 2 with around 98 locs 🌱 We started our loc journey around the same time, looking forward to see your new journey flourish 💯
wonderful class❤
"what is it? the braaiids?!" 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
9:35 “you go in for a retwist with a sky top they gone charge you $20” had me dying😭😭

Live and ya learn ‼️🦾
Just started my locs, 4 days ago, we ready
LETS GOOOO
What method did you use, and how long was your hair, that is, where it gave you?
I’m on week 7 of Season 2 Locs 😂, I’m staying down fr this time . More knowledge for the second time ‼️

Exactly so you either do the traditional process and be good after 7-9 months or get instant locs and be good after a year+
My instant locks actually started looking like normal dreads after a year of having them then I cut them off when they got long, I’m light skin tho so it might be different
mane get that free the roots for hydration
I have 68

Season 1, started with comb coils, came from a perm to dreads.

This video hella informative since I’m debating the loc journey. Appreciate yo services fs.
Technically I’m in season 2 after being natural for 10 years. I had locs for a few years as a kid and I loved them then and knew eventually I’d get them again. I started with twists and I love how they are so far.
I literally decided to start my locs because you inspired me, and now I'm a month ahead of you 😭.
I immediately regretted ended my season 2... But im ready for my season 3 with better parting styles ofcourse.
restarted mine a month ago with coils, can’t wait for the journey 💪🏿
YEESSSIRRR
i’m currently going through the unlocing phase and plan on reloccing and starting my season two if ain’t nobody told you. you taught the tf out this class
I don't have loc's yet cause I'm still doing my research. But this video has me thinking about a lot of things i over looked. Great video man 💯
can i turn my freeforms into normal dreads? and will they look the same as them?
I have 83 locs with a front taper and mid taper… comb coil method. Brick parts.. medium sized! I think 80’s or 90’s is the money spot
Watched this video while combing out my locs 😭 Boutta get a new set soon
Spider parts on top
I’m on season 2 of my locs. Season one locs was godly . My change I made was I messed up with the front taper . & my parts left boxes on my head . The restart is worth it 💈

Combed mine out a few months ago and have been missing my locs real bad. Definitely about to start my season 2.

Got 80 locs with a low taper and started with comb coils
Season 1. I kept my Frohawk cut when I started my loc journey with comb coils. I have around 78 to 80 locs.
i’m on season 2 as well😵💫 started season 1 dec 2021 ended august 2022// restarted season 2 february 2024 and now im bout to be 6months in🙏🏾

Been waiting for bro to comeback so I can start investing
I have wicks ...i have ten locs! Only use the rubber band method ...i don't hsve to worry about thining because nothing is tight
Season 1 locs started with a high taper and comb coiled, I have 81 locs but they are pretty thick. I think what I would do different is start with a full head of hair or low taper with no back taper.
The wait is overrrr 🔥
