Thank you for showing the finished product before you started the tutorial, so many teachers don’t do that.

I just made 2 different purses lined with pockets, a Dopp kit, and make-up bag out of these placemats..I disassembled them....I saved the red thread and red checked backing....now I know exactly what I'm going to make out of what I saved !!
    Thanks so much!!

    Such a great gift idea!
You may not travel with hair products but toothpaste, sunscreen, shaving cream, hand sanitizer and a hand cream would work too. Lots of things besides makeup and hair stuff!

The over-size zipper makes so much sense, easy in, easy out.

This is a great tutorial, especially on how to get the zipper pull on! And I love how it looks, too! The only thing I would probably do differently, would be to add a small loop handle sticking out of one end at the bottom... like a typical men's "ditty" bag. The drawback is that you'd have to find a coordinating fabric to make it out of.... but what if you snipped out the red gingham fabric from the back of the original placemat and just replaced that with any ol' scrap fabric using fusible web? Then you'd have coordinating fabric for handles! 😀

This bag would make a good kindness bag. You could some essential things along with some snacks in it. Keep a filled one in your car and give it to someone on the street who looks like they may need it. You could make up one for women and one more suited to men.

Timothy, I am always so amazed by how you can make such nice things out of a premade item. Very clever. As someone mentioned, I started watching when you wee making masks. I hope we never have to go back to that time. I love this bag, but I think it is beyond my skill level. Thank you, 🙂🙃🙂

I SO appreciate you showing the finished product at the beginning! I’m tired of watching a full video and finding, at the end, they were making a purse sized for an American Girl Doll! Your instructions are precise, and you do a wonderful job of filming, getting it set with the precise angle and zoomed in to be able to see what you are doing, yet keeping fingers out of the way so we can see! You don’t ramble on about what your pet hedgehog did to help you fix dinner, but stay on the topic at hand and do a fantastic job explaining and showing what to do step by step! This video was interrupted 7 times by ads and flipped to another video (that I had absolutely NI interest in watching) three times. My only complaint. I am subscribed to your channel and I anxiously look forward to the next video. I just wanted you to know, Tim, that you are appreciated and, as far as I am concerned, a cut above every other channel I attempt to watch. After watching this I have no questions to clarify how to make this bag! Thank you for all you do!
