Ashe support was the best thing that can happen to a mid or toplaner at that time. In high elo even if you don't know where the enemy jungler is, your jungler generally reminds you where it can be so in high elo it's not useful as low elos. When you have an ashe support basically you don't have to worry about gangs, you can overextend and earn much more from your lanes cuz you know where the enemy jungler is so basically a win condition.

You are right though, grinding games is exhausting, and not just mentally. Especially when doing it because you have to and not because it's fun. Unlike physical exercise it is also a bad, unhealthy kind of exhaustion, which is why pro players got an exercise schedule.
