- Dit is de Slauerhoffbrug in de hoofdstad van Friesland: Leeuwarden. De brug is vernoemd naar de schrijver en dichter J. Slauerhoff. De onderkant van de brug is geschilderd in de kleuren van het stadswapen en de vlag van Leeuwarden: blauw en geel. Ik vind het een mooi staaltje werk, werkelijk een pracht van een brug. Het is super als je eronder staat en hij gaat helemaal open. Je hoopt alleen dat de brug dan niet valt.
This is the Slauerhoff Bridge in the capital of Friesland: Leeuwarden. The bridge is named after the writer and poet J. Slauerhoff. The underside of the bridge is painted in the colors of the coat of arms and flag of Leeuwarden: blue and yellow. I really think it's a beautiful piece of work, a beauty of a bridge. It is wonderful when you stand underneath it when it opens completely. You then wish the bridge hopefully doesn't fall. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน

Ik vind je opnames erg leuk, ik ben zelf brugwachter in Noord-Holland, het is mooi om eens brugopeningen van de andere kant te bekijken
Dankjewel! Van de andere kant bekijken is inderdaad mooi. Het lijkt mij ook zeker vet en grappig om als brugwachter te zien als jij door middel van een brugopening een grote verkeersstroom stopt. Zeker met een grote verkeersstroom heb je dan wel een grote verantwoordelijkheid qua veiligheid lijkt mij.
Ja zeker, je moet overal rekening mee houden. Met het vaarverkeer, maar ook met het wegverkeer. Het wegverkeer gaat zeer vaak door rood en ik moet meerdere malen per dag op de noodstop drukken om ervoor te zorgen dat niemand een slagboom op zijn hersenpan krijgt. :D En qua vaarverkeer... je ziet precies wie er een vaarbewijs heeft of wie niet. Maar het is echt een ontzettend leuk beroep!
Haha, inderdaad. Er zitten soms mensen bij die niet verstandig bezig zijn. Maar je ziet, afhankelijk van bij welke brug je zit, inderdaad erg veel levendigheid om je heen.

Another great design is not even the contraption itself but the fact that cyclists have their own segregated road for much safer cycling. Beats the hell out of those bike lanes that share the road with multi-ton monsters. Anyone else do this search because of a Yahoo news article? LOL
With the world in crisis, its good to know that at least a Transformer got a job...

Ambulances always have contact with bridge masters. If there are bridges on the way they have to drive, the bridge master will be informed early, so they won't open the bridge untill the ambulance has passed the bridge.

Why not a cheaper swing bridge?
the channel is too narrow for a swing bridge, it's designed like this so the water can be completely cleared for larger boats. this design is not as expensive as you might think.

@@dementors11 maar daarvoor is ook een voorwaarschuwingssein, dan kunnen zij toch alvast remmen
@@edmond05levelasian14 Klopt, alleen voor voetgangers is het wel handig aangezien zij langzaam zijn. Dan hebben ze ook nog wat tijd als ze op de brug staan om eraf te lopen.
@@dementors11 dat klopt, het valt mij vaak op dat de slagbomen eerst de rechterkant van de snelweg dichtgaan en dan de linkerkant en ook gelijk de fiets of voetpad, dus dan hebben zij inderdaad de tijd om naar de overkant te gaan, aangezien de meeste slagbomen langzaam dichtgaan.
toch handig dat sommige bruggen een voorwaarschuwingssein vanaf 900 meter gebruiken, vooral in de snelweg

Aidan Rickert actually, this counterweight design is a lot more energy efficient than comparable designs. The only thing needed to lift it to that height is a few hydraulic pistons, and there's only a few moving parts.

Paul Johnson hey, welcome to the 21st century. I am actually watching this on a mobile phone, so vertical filming does a pretty good job to fit the bridge both laying down AND upright.
nihil1 OK, now watch it on a TV like anyone who has €10 and a television. Not everyone is watching this someplace dirt-farming backwards like Nigeria.
In the 21st century there are many of us who prefer to watch content in a large 22-inch widescreen computer monitors or even larger TV screens. Those do not rotate as opposed to my tiny 5-inch screen found in my cell phone. A camera cannot be rotated in the middle of recording. You have to stick to the same orientation the camera was when recording started.
It's unpractical.
