    Thanks I have a different ESC but the base of this video helped me set it back up to get my light kit going! And tested my set up on 3S and had no issue.

    Oh my goodness thank you for making this video! Solved my problem, and works so much better than the other way I had it set up! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

    Hey. What does the single red wire do that plugs into the receiver? I was wanting to use a spektrum receiver in a sport with lights.
    It would be nice to run a on and off switch too.

    I switched out the esc (AXE sys.) and receiver (Sanwa) on the TRX4 bronco 2021. I want to use the light system for that particular truck. Would it be the same hook up?

    what about the: Low and high beam brightness settings and Fully functioning brake lights that work
    in both forward and reverse direction.. i think turn signals too???

    Could u just use an large 1s battery or 2s with a JST on it

    I am using a dumbo Rc remote and receiver, I have tried all the spare 4 channels and I still cannot get the lights to function. I did what you did with my aftermarket esc to the letter. Any ideas? So frustrating

    I have the exact same esc, are you running the esc at 7.4 volts ? would that fry the mini servos ?

    • @moose1992caprice
      @moose1992caprice 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bec in the ESC should regulate the voltage down to a safe level. In some cases you can set what voltage you want to have going to the servos. Not sure on that esc.

    Can you use the lights without that wire?

    Could we just soldering a female or male (whichever is needed)jst connector on the esc to power the module? Be less wires for a cleaner look

      This work for you? I’m thinking the same, cut the red plug and solder the wires directly to the ESC

    They make a JST (red 2 wire plug) to SERVO (black 3 wire plug) adapters.

    How do you install the modified wire you created into the ESC? You didn’t show specifically where the black wire gets installed and where the red wire gets installed onto the ESC ? I have a hobby wing 1080 ESC I want to install on my TRX4 and I have the Traxxas light module and I want to continue using it but the only thing holding me back is how to modify wires where I can use aftermarket ESC with Traxxas light module. You where giving good advice but didn’t show where you connected or soldered the new wires on to the ESC. Please make video on where you soldered those wires thank you.

      Looks like he hooked it directly to the battery input on the esc. So basically the Traxxas light controller takes 7.4- 11.1v and regulates it down to 3ish volts according to him to supply the LEDs. I’m about to buy and install a hobby wing 1080esc as well so I’ll test and verify all this before I do it

      Domon46d9 not yet, the ESC is suppost to come in the mail today. Let me get my meter when I get home and test the light output on the factory esc and see if it’s just the battery voltage like the guy said it was. If so you will just hook it/solder it to the same place in the new hobbywing esc where the battery feeds in. I’ll get back to ya

    Qué pasa si lo conecto del lado donde va conectado a la batería no del lado donde los cables van conectados al Speak control sino de lado puesto mi es mi control no tiene dónde soldarlo ahí la única opción es que lo haga donde uno lo conecta la batería

    Be careful doing this, I did and it was fine using 2s lipo but when I used 3s my light port went up in smoke!

  • @jms493

    I still have not found a video of someone explaining how to do this correctly. I had hopes for this one but nope.

  • @dylanwhite6539
    @dylanwhite6539 ปีที่แล้ว

    So basically connect a JST plug to the battery voltage. Seems simple enough. For some reason I was thinking that JST plug was the BEC voltage which wouldn’t really make any sense. That does make me wonder what the point of the Rx wire is though

    • @gregoryhines7
      @gregoryhines7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rx wire is for the brake lights I believe. So it knows when you hit the brake.

    • @dylanwhite6539
      @dylanwhite6539 ปีที่แล้ว

      The basic led supply doesn’t have brake light controls and that’s not the right channel for it. I did figure it out though, is a trigger wire to turn on the lights so that they don’t power on immediately when you plug the batteries in. It waits till there’s voltage going to the receiver. I’m guessing this all was designed back when traxxas allowed us to turn on and off their escs. They still allow the xl5 hv to the powered on and off but all brushless escs only turn on

    This whole controller is plaint stupid why does it need the receiver's 6V PLUS the main battery just to create 3V?

  • @Klutaq

      Smoked mine as well on 3s, in fact it started bubbling on top where the pins are.
