Me too! Sadly I don’t have the money for professional behaviorist or trainer. Spend hours almost every day learning from pros on TH-cam.

Both of their insight is certainly valuable. I just have a hard time looking at Will without thinking how the hell is saving a dog in danger where he needs to run to their aid. No shade only facts, but he's overweight and unfit.

Thank you for taking the time to talk about e-collars and prong collars. I used to be completely against them - then I educated myself and my opinion did a 180. These tools save countless lives. I just wish more people would be willing to be open minded and take just a little time to learn, instead of digging their heels in to argue against them, just because other people do.

The misinformation is astronomical abouts these tools. Of course we use other tools first but when those fail, so many people give up and dogs get surrendered or put down. Thank you for being open minded and seeing the value of these tools. I hope more people start to understand that these tools can me l8fe saving and can improve both your lives tremendously.
The proof is in the pudding with these amazing trainers. Thank you for not giving up on your pup and opening your mind and educating yourself on these topics.

Thank you Tom & Will for developing your online content, as a regular everyday pet owner of 2 GSD’s, one reactive after an incident, I needed help and I found both of you online. Watching and learning has helped me be a much better dog handler and has allowed my dogs to enjoy a full-filling, enriched life including many off-leash adventures. Now that I am learning & understanding dog behaviour my dogs Rj & Raven are experiencing much happier dog days. 😊

Absolutely made my day to see these two got together, Tom and Will are my two favorite trainers!!! I was able to help rehabilitate my first rescue dog by learning Tom’s methods, and then I was able to give my Corso puppy the best start by following Will’s perfect puppy course. I’ve become so passionate about dogs since following these two trainers, thank you to both of you for what you’re doing for the world. Collectively your methods have been able to teach me to give my dogs a better, happier life. THANK YOU keep doing what you’re doing!💪🏻

So good to see I'm not alone in my confidence and self doubt. Really helpful podcast. My balanced training company is nearly a year old and the best move I made. I've trained 55 eleated clients out of 57. Even stopped a couple being euthansised. That alone is gold to me! Thanks lads and keep up your awesome work. Great embassadors for the k9 industry.

I'm very intuitive, without going into detail it's my job to be good at reading people .
These two from day one screamed 'genuine' to me . They also are so realistic so I've gone with what they say works . They're calm but there's not one part of me thinks they are big egos .
I'm so grateful they share their skill.

I have trained dogs since 1969. I presently have 7 dogs in my furry family, all are working breeds. I use a large toolbox that includes my voice, touch, hand gestures facial expressions. body postures. Leashes, all kinds of collars etc. I train, according to the individual dog. One size does not all. you are both spot on. Very enjoyable podcast. I am a subscriber on Tom's and Will's channels. I have nothing less than, absolutely respect the both of you.

RE: training philosophies....Long ago in one of Tom's videos he talked about dog corrections saying (paraphrasing) "...so if your bratty teenager was kicking visitors would you try to correct that behavior by giving a treat every time the kid DIDN'T kick... Hell no, it would be, get your ass to your room and NO phone, NO TV and NO going out with your friends...You're grounded! "

I feel like the ones who allow themselves to get swept up on the drama of the different methods and start to cross swords are the ones that lack the meaningful content and have resorted to those tactics to just get views. If you keep doing what you're doing and you're helping people, you'll be a better person, and people want to be around those kind of people. Toxic people draw toxicity and nothing good can grow in that environment. So many people are against something, and so few actually stand for something meaningful. It's easy to take pot-shots. Just keep doing what you're doing gents and you'll attract what's needed to go to the next level.

  • @reworxx

i was that exact way when i 1st only seen the prong collar, i had ambiguous thoughts. But i watched and researched and made the choice to get and learn to use the tool right and proper. I did a 180 and firmly believe in the use of the tools. i have a Frenchie mixed with a pit, a 40lbs beef cake. He likes to get energetic on the line for walking and outings, i work 80(+)hrs a week, which means he is with me on job sites and etc. and i could never do it with out tools. I'm no trainer just a regular guy that actually has what most don't (common sense lol) but i got him at 5yrs ish old so he already being stubborn from his bread he is set in his ways to a sense. but i just found you guys and i like the vibes no bad dogs!

Thank you thank you! Thank you so much for talking about the imposter syndrome and everything! I was going into a session with kind of you know. Self-doubt! I took on a Doberman which I knew was going to be a hard dog because the breeders told me that the dog was going to be in. Would rather have me be a trainer for that dog and to take that dog in then somebody else that didn't know what they were doing so I took the dog in. And yes the dogs doing well but there's times where it still gives me trouble! So I was going into this training session with a little self-doubt but I went into it anyways. Got my vibe together before I went in and I'm almost getting the dog to sit ! Even my friend was a happy with the results we had already! And then afterwards I was still having a little bit of doubt but then I listened to this! And I realized I am actually getting good results considering I just fully trained. A Cane Corso as well! I just need to realize that I am helping people and I need to continue to just build myself!!

I use that to my advantage because I have a pack of 6 dogs. I love both you guys, I am in NBDA and wondering if Tom is going to offer dog training for dog trainers like Will does. Loved the part on self doubt and how others in the same field target you. If you think dog trainers are bad you should try being an empathic person who owns a successful real estate company... 😱

Don’t care what anyone says, the only reason my 2.5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback is the dog he is is because I found these two gentlemen and another Canadian guy. Jax was well on his way to being out of control and it has been an insane amount of work but he’s come so far. No we aren’t perfect and we could be better, but at least he is under control. You have given me the strength to change the things I can, the courage to accept the things I cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference. Or something like that lol.

Not only great trainers, smart business builders. Just because you can train dogs doesn't mean you can build a brand too. You two have both 'it'. Don't let anyone tell you different.

I’m trying to become a dog trainer in my area and there’s not many balance dog training here so I thought since I have trained my 9 dogs and I’m actually good at handling dogs. I thought I could help others that might be struggling with training even though they have been to training at PetSmart or PetCo and getting nowhere wasting their time and money. And I’m offering E-collar training as well, but unfortunately no one will give me the chance. This 1 women who has a Reactive GSD went to PetSmart to try to fix the problem, but the whole time in their training session the dog was still barking. So I caught her outside told her i know what the problem is that it is reactivity I had a GSD with the same issue and gave her my business card. She said she would call me after Christmas, but never heard from her. I was a little disappointed because I haven’t gotten the chance to help anyone yet. And I was offering to do it for $50 since it would be my first client. I just thought a low price would be fair and I was gonna do everything for $50 even E-collar training. I was getting to the point on giving up because no one in my area will give me a chance. Now I’m 3 months pregnant and only making $138 a week so I really need a side hustle and I think I could do really well doing that if I could just get my business rolling. So I’m not giving up I’m got my Facebook business page more professional and have the services I offer. I just need people to know my page is out there.

Tom hi, in the news there were 5 dogs that attacked people. unfortunately. They were pit bulls, I told my friend that had been properly trained and the fence reforced this wouldn't have happened. This was not the first time. I wish it were a law that if you get a dog , it would mandatory that the dog goes to train especially dogs that can do damage to anybody. What is your take on preventive methods? It is really bad that the dog suffers because of the owner.

Thank you so much for saying that you don’t have to help every person and every dog, but if you can help one person and one dog… That means everything. I have been on Rover for a while as a dog walker, but one day I received a phone call because of a flyer That I had posted about six months earlier. The lady just wanted a dog walker. I scheduled a meet and greet with her and her dog. It became obvious from the very beginning that this dog needed boundaries. The owner had scheduled an appointment with a “behaviorist “. She asked me if I would be willing to be there when the behaviorist came to evaluate her dog. I agreed. the behaviorist said that her dog was feral and basically went into a mental breakdown. She told my customer that she should surrender the dog to the rescue that she adopted the dog from in the first place. Long story short… When the “behaviorist” left the house, the owner said I will be more than happy to work with YOU BUT THERE’S NO WAY I CAN WORK WITH HER. FAST FORWARD 2 1/2 MONTHS. MY CUSTOMER ISN’T EVEN REMOTELY CONSIDERING GETTING RID OF THE DOG ANYMORE. ALTHOUGH I CAN HONESTLY SAY I WISH SHE WOULD RESPECT MY ADVICE, I AM GOING TO CONTINUE TO TRY TO HELP HER BUILD HER RELATIONSHIP WITH HER DOG. THERE’S NO QUESTION, THE DOG HAS A DIFFERENT RELATIONSHIP WITH ME BECAUSE SHE KNOWS I MEAN BUSINESS, BUT SHE ALSO KNOWS I’LL PAY HER WHEN SHE DOES WHAT I ASK. ANYWAY, I REALLY APPRECIATED THE POINT IN THE VIDEO. WHEN YOU SAD I CAN’T HELP EVERY PERSON AND EVERY DOG BUT WHEN I KNOW THERE IS A PERSON AND A DOG THAT I CAN HELP, I WILL. PARAPHRASING, OF COURSE… THANK YOU SO MUCH. I LOVE YOU BOTH. I AM SUBSCRIBED TO BOTH OF YOUR CHANNELS, AND I WATCH BOTH RELIGIOUSLY. AS FAR AS MY COMMENT IS CONCERNED, I’M SORRY IF THERE ARE ALL CAPS. I DIDN’T INTEND FOR THAT TO HAPPEN. FOR SOME REASON SOMETIMES THAT HAPPENS BUT I’M USING VOICE TO TEXT. ANYWAY, I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. IT’S BEEN BEAUTIFUL.

Amazing podcast guys! I've watched it a few times in the past couple of weeks and get something out of it each time. So excited to see you working together at Tom's UK seminar! I know trainer nerds like me will get so much out of it! I don't know if anyone from either of your camps is still monitoring comments on this video, but I was wondering if either of you had ever worked with a starmark collar? I bought a couple when I first heard of them, but of course when you tell an owner you'd like to switch to a prong and why there's never any objections, so I've never tried them. I guess it's something to have in our back pockets jic. Love your work and content both of you and crack on guys! ❤

I liked what your guest said that he help train others trainers and other possible trainers. I just want to be a volunteer to train people with their dogs and dog shelters and dog rescues. I am not trying to make money, too many people are doing this. I just want to help people and their dogs for the sake of God. Problem: people like me, that want to be a trainer, no one wants to train us unless money is attached. This is unfortunate. If you truly want people who love dogs, and want to be able to help people like me, both of your organizations should be available to those people like me who only want to help people at no cost. I will probably not get a response, its ok, I will continue to support and educate myself in helping people and their dogs through information on free services, etc. Thank you for this TH-cam podcast.
