According to docs of GSSoC 24 and in general it's a good practice to create separate branch in the forked repo while doing changes and also sync it to main repo to stay updated with the main branch to avoid any conflicts. Can you confirm whether every feature of Git CLI is in Github Desktop as well? Seems like the Github Desktop will save a lot of time
Yeah it it good practice and also this is a standard when you are contributing...
I will try to make a indepth tutorial of this branch features how this work and how you can work.

Yes you can apply for both ..... Campus ambassador is an activity only and contribution is for your main things so fill as soon as possible

Don't worry bro...I can suggest you that you should not follow the certification or goddies like if you selected then all good to go but until you do not get any mail.
So you can try to work on those projects.
Only You will not be considered as a gssoc candidate but you can learn by contributing in project...this is a good advice from my side...🙂

You can work in any issue, if that is assigned to you.
Your contribution count will be shown in the leaderboard after some days so donr worry about that.... organisation team will manage it....

exactly path kya hai thik hai main let say 3-4 pull request merged karwa lunga uske baad mujhe aur kya krna hai submit krna hoga kya koi proposal type like in GSOC
ya phir bas PR merged krwa ke chor doon uh khud dekh lenge.
Aur ek baad puchni thi ki safe no of PR kitni hoti hai for GSOC log kehte hai 7 toh iske liye agar koi figure ho to bata dena plz.

As our exams are going on so can we do it later.
Exams will end up till 10th june.
Focus on your exam. After finishing your exam you can contribute. There is no any issue

You don't need to close the PR... Project admin will see and after reviewing They will merge with main project and close.
You only need to create PR only

Bhai ek dikkat hai...mujhe ye smjha nhi aaya ki...jo hmko assign huaa hai usme hi work krna hai ya fir koi bhi issue pakad ke pull request mar skte hai....?i mean admin ke reply ka wait krna hota hai kya ki vo assign kre or fir ham work kre isme?
Agr ap admin se bat krke kam kroge then ap issue create krke work kr sakte ho ni to vo tb tk apka PR ni accept lega jb tk apko uska issue assign ni hoga... And Bat krke ap unse manage kr sakte ho ... It's totally up to you

First of all apko ye choose Krna hoga ki apko kis development me jana h like Android y web y crypto y block chain project.
1.After choosing the field start learning basic of these.
2. If you want to contribute in opensource then most of the open source program doesn't require any experience so you can fill the form with your proper details.
If you selected in any organisation then you should learn git, GitHub to interact with their project and this is not much hard to learn.
These are basic steps.
For benefits you will gain knowledge in real life project, you can understand flow of project, make a good community bonding,
Some time if you got good rant the. You will get perks also

You can asked why them didn't assign to you even you raised that issue ....It should be that if you raised any issue then then have to assign to you first or close that issue with any reason......I suggest you that kindly talk to the mentor or project admin about this problem so that they can assign to you and you can continue

What is the further process after pulling request. Will we get any confirmation mail if our changes are approved. And also tell me, in how much issues can a single contributor contribute? For getting certificate do we need to do at least one issue or more?
Bro you need to work atleast 1 issue selecting for certificate and if you can make .kre contribution then it will good for you.
You can contribute in multiple projects as well as multiple issues in same project if project admin will assign to you so you need to make then feel good that you can work.

There is no any rule about it ....if they can't solve that issue then you can absolutely work on that....it is totally depends on project admin to assign the issue.
You can each and every issue where you want to work...if they assign you then you can work on their

If you can manage work in multiple projects then you can go through... there is no any bond that you can work only in one project.

I tried every method possible to resolve the issue but was unable to do anything. I even reached out to mentors for help but even they were unable to help me with my issue. And today I was just searching some random things and came across your video. Your alternate solution was just so amazing that I finally made my first pull request in the 10 days.
