We found a discounted cruise from Sydney Australia to Auckland New Zealand. So far, we've had 4 days on board but today is our first day ONLY at sea. We thought we'd film the day so you know what it's like at sea onboard the Norwegian cruise lines, Norwegian spirit!

The single ply toilet paper is probably due to the toilet system not coping with thick paper. Those ship toilets block up and back up really easy.
I thought all ships used apps these days and only did paper programmes if you especially asked. Might be the age of the ship.

If you really want the natural sunlight here are two tips I've heard.
1. if your ship has a channel on the tv dedicated to an outside camera. Turn that on, but turn volume down.
Or 2. There are alarm clocks you can buy that have lights that go from dim to bright.

P.S. you're going to think I'm insane, but I bring my own toilet paper. But i hide it just for me. Rest of my fam has to use the 1 ply. LOL

Single ply toilet paper?? That is the lowest. Better to use a bidet.

Found it interesting that there was so much hard copy paper info provided on the cruise in this day and age. You reckon it might be because the age demo of cruises is a bit..umm..well... older than you guys and not quite as tech savvy?

It has to be! We thought the same thing. I think there would be a bit of outrage if it went paperless right now, it will definitely happen at some point though!

I'm going to say it was the ship or the line they were on. We've cruised and everything is usually on a phone app. Last cruise which was crap . I'm older than you guys but i am tech savy.. plus i had my 19 and 24 year old sons with me last time. Their phones couldn't pick up the app either. mainly because we were aft in the corner and the wifi just didn't work. So we would practically have to go to the dining room just to let them know we were ready for a table. And we could never look at the menus ahead of time. We paid $5 each for that stupid app. LOL

Norwegian is definitely not a high quality line, more like 2-3 star, with royal Caribbean 3 star, celebrity 4 star and then luxury lines 5 star.
