    So cool! I was one of the lead special FX prop artists who built the nuclear missiles for Broken Arrow, so this is so fun to see! I posted a video a year ago on my channel with my behind the scenes footage of us building all the prop missiles if you are interested! It was a crazy project, they kept destroying them and we ended up building 11 by the time it was done, haha! Thanks so much for sharing, cheers!😄👍

    Loved Broken Arrow when I was a kid. Always remember how jarring it was to hear them reuse the score for Dewey's theme in Scream 2. Can't get enough of these interviews. Thanks for documenting all this!

      Yeah, hearing that music in Scream 2 really got under my skin as well. In fact, that was one of the reasons I didn't sit through the entire film.

    It is truly amazing how much miniature effects they got so accurately.
    At the time of the movie filming; there were many, many items that were still classified to almost every civilian. So classified that people working outside of the program didn't even know. Yet the model makers got it very, very close.

    I was recently watching this scene and noticed the footage of the bombs being armed and disarmed by Slater and Travolta were played both backwards and forwards. If you follow the track on both, it's easily identifiable as the same shot, just in reverse ;) Nice work.

    Always thought it was a B2 Sprit in the film and not a fictional B3.

      Samantha Mathis played a Park Service Ranger in Broken Arrow and she totally held her own with Christian Slater and John Travolta. And many people forget - a Hans Zimmer score! I enjoyed seeing it in the theater.

    Cool miniature models, I've never heard of this movie but from the trailer it looks kind of schlocky

    • @spinsandneedles
      @spinsandneedles 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are a lot of action sequences on various western railroads in different states so I would say the production and fight sequences were elaborate, not schlocky. But the bad guy played by Travolta and his henchmen are like a lot of others - think The Rock - skilled fighters but nevertheless able to be beaten.

    the miniature effects in broken arrow were pretty average, particularly the final part of the crash scene and also when the nuke goes off in the mine. Looked SOOOOO fake

    Sounds like the 'making up and redoing effects on the go' film making was alive and well even in the 1990s
