I know that Ekpe follows tradition and doesn't speak English, how I wish (in the spirit of innovations) that most of the speeches will be in English for the benefit of most of us that desire to really know the root of this cherished heritage of us. I must also admit that the clip here made good sense interchanging between Efik and English. Thanks. Ojeeee Ekpe!!!!!
Good observation, my brother! Very encouraging to know that other people who are not Efik or from Calabar are watching these great documentaries. These are Nigerian historical events, and they should be narrated in both English and Efik. As a matter of fact, we should also have Spanish translations, because we have our Cuban brothers and sisters, who retained their Ekpe traditions in the form of Abakwa. Let's think about ways to expand the reach of this historic, and beautiful 😍 tradition.

@@nyaukpong9782 it was believed before that these masquerades were spirits and ancestors, now it was used by the white men to preach Christianity to the Efik, Ibibio and all to draw attention and all, it work so since then they changed the believe because Ekpe helped in spreading the word now the add God name to the songs and enchantment, the Igbos still believe in the old spirit ways of our masquerades tho, love❤️
