@@davidcochran595 But your crown jewel didn’t even make it to the championship game and had only 1 SEC in the semifinals. Go dawgs??? Are you kidding me. Notre Dame beat Georgia by 14pts with mostly 2nd and 3rd string players on their defense. Plus Jeremiah love was injured playing at the most, 50%. The same goes for Howard Cross. He was also playing injured, and playing at no more than 50%. Love and Cross had very limited playing time. Both of them played maybe 25% of the game. You combine that with the 10 penalties that Notre Dame had, and Georgia still couldn’t beat Notre Dame. Talk about pathetic.
This is a result of “greedy capitalism!” If the NCAA administration were willing to share their wealth with the players years ago by truly sharing the fruits of their collective labor there wouldn’t have been a need for this present setup.
sec is now 1-5 vs THE BIG TEN this post season and hasnt beat a BIG TEN playoff team in 2 years and counting....BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Welcome to the NIL era. The SEC advantage of "money under the table" is gone because the northern teams can stack it high right on the table now. No more rosters built from the scraps that the SEC tossed after paying for the top talent. The SEC benefited from breaking the money rules for decades. I am calling it now. Now that they don't have that advantage anymore, over the next few years SEC fans will start whining about how it is unfair that players are paid and that there needs to be "salary caps" because the northern teams will easily outspend them. And SEC fans should have packed up when Georgia lost. Texas isn't even a real SEC team yet. The best team in the SEC is a Big 12 team that just happens to play in the SEC now. They are so desperate that they embraced a team they had no love for until it was suddenly their last hope to try and claim the SEC hasn't fallen apart now that everyone can play their game of buying rosters.
This game should have every OSU fan worried. It was a win, but it solidified that OSU cannot put up huge points against high level defenses. Saw it earlier in the season and this helped confirm it. OSU can't reliably go 30+ against real defense. Notre Dame has a better defense than Texas. This was the best Texas has looked on defense all year against a strong offense, and it still isn't ND level. OSU will struggle to produce, meanwhile ND has shown they can keep up production against even high level defenses. This Natty is going to look a lot like the Michigan-Ohio State game, except ND has an offense that Michigan didn't have. OSU will struggle to move chains and just won't be able to produce enough to keep up with ND marching it up the field.
To call a sweep on the 2 yard line against an aggressive penetrating defense like Ohio State was ridiculous. Why not continue running the ball up the middle where you stand a better chance of getting the ball in the endzone.
That’s exactly what I would have done. Plus a QB sneak. A sweep has to be the worst call to play in that situation against an excellent Ohio State defense. It was probably a worse call than the one Penn State had with under 40 seconds to play in the game. Why didn’t Allar just throw the ball away???
ESPN has been schlepping the Longhorns all year especially Fowler and Herbstreit. The Longhorns are the Dallas cowboys of college football. More hype than results
@dg1268 u dumb af if u think u can count out Notre Dame if Texas held yall to 80 rushing yards. Also since 2003 the SEC dominated the Natty. Let's not get carried away. Keep an eye on LSU next year
The refs helped Texas stay in this one. The personal foul on the OSU lineman who was just blocking… Quinn’s knee was down when he flipped it to the back, hand was still touching the ball… Arch fumbled… the horrible PI calls… Jack Sawyer said nope… our game refs.
The Varsity in Athens has added to the menu! BEVOS BURGERS !!! Next year the plan on adding the Arch Dawg which will replace naked Dawg walking GO DAWGS
As a Notre Dame fan I loved watching the last SEC team in the playoff lose in the semifinals last night. Now about OSU. I had OSU winning that game by at least 4 TD’s due to the way they were destroying their two previous opponents, and how close Texas came to losing to ASU (they should have lost, but the obvious targeting was not called). I was shocked to see how close the game was in the final 2 mins. With the score at 21-14 and Texas driving all the way down to the OSU 1 yard line Texas could have tied the game with under 2mins to play, but had the 2 worst plays a team can have in that situation with a 7 yard loss and then an amazing scoop and score by Jack Sawyer. I just saw the spread for the championship game and was very surprised to see that OSU wasn’t favored by at least 12pts. Notre Dame played a OSU team last year that won in the last seconds of the game. But would Notre Dame have stopped OSU at the 1yd line if they had an 11th defender on the D-line and win the game? Notre Dame is a better team than last season, and OSU has 16 combined starters returning this season.
We beat Texas and we didn’t even use our best receiver and barely used our second best receiver. I don’t expect that will happen against ND. I’m happy to play you all in the championship. Two great teams with great tradition. When I think of college football, I can’t help but think of Notre Dame. With that said, Go Buckeyes!
@@JRoss80 Thank you sir. Ohio State is an extremely talented team with tons of weapons on both sides of the ball.
