I won’t lie to you, I never cared for Bert, because I only ever watched him on two bears or Rogan but once I discovered him by himself on somethings burning, or wife of the party, I realized he’s the sweetest angel! Something about Tom causes him to have manic energy that is a little much, but at the core he’s a sweet guy! Keep killing it you two.
Same same same. Different people bring out different things in each of us, sometimes that energy is just too much. But sometimes (like Bert with Leeann) it’s a breath of fresh air. She definitely brings out the best in him. And…She’s always THE best, including with Bert lol. She seems like a real down to earth human
When I first moved out of home, I remember the first time coming back to visit a mere one week later, my parents greeted me on the front porch and asked if I'd like a cup of coffee and I spiralled and panicked and felt like my home wasn't my home anymore and picked a fight and drove an hour back to my new place confused about the experience. When I saw you guys were sitting to talk about empty nesting I was immediately so eager to hear about it because you're so honest and you're both very thoughtful people--and fuck what anyone thinks ptsd should look like, bert was putting his safety at jeopardy to change his life for the better which is such a paradox cognitively plus anyone reasonable realises they have no full image of any public figure regardless of how much shit they do or don't talk about their private lives.
My mother in law said that they looked forward to the “golden years” (retiring and being empty nesters) so they could go and do things, but she quickly realized that the “golden years” were actually during the happy, chaotic and stressful times of raising her kids because although they could go and do whatever, they wished their kids were still there to enjoy it… now the house is quiet, clean, but lonely. This sent me!!! 😢 We visit them as often as possible and are working on giving them the titles of grandparents! 🙏💝
8 years ago my husband & I were thrown into being empty nesters when we lost our only child. One of my favorite things that we now do is when we travel we always google waterfalls near me. We've found some amazing hikes & seen some amazing views. I highly suggest to anyone. It's a whole new life you learn to live when your kids are no longer in the home. Finding out who you are without them around is a whole new chapter. Enjoy!
One of my wife and i's favorite trips was getting a national parks pass and just traveling the United States hitting as many as we could. Such a beautiful country we have
YES to northern MN and WI!! I grew up in MN and have been here most of my life and lake life up north in the summer is beautiful, serene and so peaceful. There are thousands of lakes nestled in the woods here and experiencing the beauty and nature just fills your soul. Fantastic fishing too. Highly recommend the Gunflint Trail near the Canadian border. Northern WI/MN is a hidden gem.
Bert. We are definitely listening to this and enjoying it, because every wife has a Bert. LOL. I love mine, but damn, Leanne makes me feel so seen. I can relate to her soooo much. Lol
I’ve never really wanted to have kids but watching this podcast makes me hopeful to find my person and experience all the things life can bring with having a family of your own🥹
There's a TH-cam blogger named Adam the Woo, who has a strong following because he posts every single day and he's been around forever. He is currently in Alaska posting 40 minute videos every day and the trip looks incredible. In particular, he went dog-sledding and sat in the front. The video from that day is amazing and you couldn't wipe the smile off of his face all video. Right now he's in the northern most city in the U.S. He made his day by putting his hand in the Arctic Ocean. Alaska looks like an unbelievable adventure.
maybe only film what was sent in as suggestions of bucket list ideas.. I could tell that this was something she wants just to experience with just the two of them. I understand where Bert is coming from, i love seeing clips of Leeann and the family having fun, but i would love to see/listen to another episode of where the two of you talk about this again and go over the vacations you decided to go on. I'm such a big fan of this family and you all deserve to be happy and enjoy life! I'm so happy that everything is going well and it gives me hope for my future as well... I am going to miss my babies but I am looking forward to spending more time with my husband when that time comes. loved this episode!
Selfishly I want to see you record your adventures. “Bert and LeeAnn hit the Road” . Videos from inside the tour bus and your adventures. I would look forward to seeing a video once a week of Bert showing LeeAnn as many states as he can
Ooohh next time you guys are in northern CA, you HAVE TO go to Carmel by the Sea which is next to Monterey CA. Get a hotel room by the water, go to Point Lobos for a half a day. It’s this beautiful reserve off the coast before Big Sur. Get a reservation for dinner and watch the sun set on the beach… if you are into golf, pebble beach resort is around the corner. Point Lobos is the most beautiful place! If you guys are into indoor stuff, check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Also you guys have to go on a whale watching tour off the Monterey coast. My favorite things to do in the WORLD!!
If you do take a trip through Texas - if you enjoy History - lots of historical landmarks in Texas and many historical sights - in Abilene, TX - there is Frontier Texas which takes you through a lot of early Texas history. It’s on I-20 - we saw Bert when he came through here on one of his tours. There are lots of places on I-20 - and you can adventure in all directions from Abilene 😊
Gettysburg is a fun trip with a lot of history and sights. The Appalachian trail towns are fun for an RV trip, you could visit a lot of the national parks that way. You could also be trail angles for people through hiking the trail. Mohican in Ohio has beautiful cabins and tree houses. Once rehabilitated, flat rock North Carolina is a relaxing beautiful trip. Love you both!!!
Vegas- go to Red Rock watch Rock climbers and there is always an emergency. Some people come straight out of casino high heels etc… we bet how long until they need a rescue! So much fun!
Mackinac Island in Michigan. Its a town on an island that has no cars. You only bike or walk. I heard its really cool during christmas time cause they go all out for christmas
Come to Leavenworth, Washington State. It is a Bavarian themed town that goes crazy in the winter with Christmas lights and decorations. Great place year round.
You guys need to go to Deadwood, South Dakota. That's an amazing town with views looking down at the town that are incredible. Deadwood has a lot of 1880s still going on in town. That's on my bucket list. I've just watched videos of it.
Damn! Bert talked about silver lake sand dunes here in Michigan! I live 15 minutes from it and go all summer long it’s super fun bring her there!! If you want a real experience we can get her in some 1k hp buggies
Come to Seguin TX. We love you guys. Lots of fans, check out the brewery and distilleries. We're right in-between Austin and San Antonio just off I-10.🎉
WAIT I COMMENTED THIS BEFORE I LISTENED TO THE REST OF IT. Leeann would love it omg. Dollywood in pigeon forge, tn. Beautiful amusement park and I feel like it fits LeeAnn's countryside aesthetic well. Pigeon forge and Gatlinburg, TN in general is so fun. So many quirky tourist attractions. Christmas time is beautiful for Dollywood too. Christmas lights everywhere. The Hatfield and McCoy show. THE DIXIE STAMPEDE!!
I think Leeann needs to spend a week in northern mi. You need to check out UP waterfalls. Quads in the woods. And fishing and spend the time on lake michigan and lake superior. Lake superior is so cold. Bring some couples. So many great places to stay. Don't forget to stay on the mackinaw island take a horse trail❤❤
Go to Branson, MO. Visit the caves, see the Esther show, go to the Butterfly Palace and the eat at Mel's Diner. There is also a theme park there. We go every other year for 4th of July and it's amazing. It's not really thrill seeking, but it is amazing experiences that I love to do over and over again.
Go to a show at The Gorge Amphitheater in Quincy, WA! Spiritual place. Since you're going to Vegas this weekend, you should do SPEED VEGAS where you can drive a luxury sportscar around the track!!!
If you are in the area again, try ATVs on Pismo Beach. Perhaps you can have a "Good time" with Leanne in every state if you catch my drift. Richmond, Virginia's historical areas, are pretty cool. Yosemite-I cannot get enough of it. I would never say no to that park. If you go to Yosemite again, then I would suggest you go to Bass Lake. That place is lovely.
LeeAnn should go out to riverside ca to Adam’s motorsports park on drift night. They let ride along with the drivers when they rip around the track sideways.
Check out Gatlinburg TN it’s right next to Pigeon Forge TN there is yes there is Dollywood and the Titanic Museum like Bert said but there is also the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And Tons of Moonshine Distillery’s to check out along with amazing food. Also have to say check out Tyler Tx and Longview Tx if you’re in Texas for Good BBQ At Stanley’s in Tyler and Sunbird in Longview along with some great local Beers from TrueVine and Oil Horse.
San Fransisco, Avenue of the Giants, Breckenridge (Colorado) Harpers Ferry, West Virginia)...New Orleans...Bonneville (Salt Flats)...San Juan Islands (Pugent Sound)...Route 66.⛽🚐🧳

Also only 2 hours from pigeon forge and Hollywood n gatlinburg..go do old times photos together so fun n taste test moonshine and eat at Blake Sheltons restaurant n bar
This is defiantly a topic no one talks about. My husband and I just retired over seas. My husbands identity was so wrapped up in being a provider. That when he retired he has no clue what to do with himself. I like reading and craft stuff. But my husband he watches TH-cam 8 hrs a day. We have been retired a year and I ask him what is he going to do to keep himself busy and he still has no clue.
But what do you do if your child? Goes to the other parents house, Walden high school Most days. My daughter went from five days a week with me to every other weekend. She's fourteen and I get it, but i'm very lost
I would love to take yall whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River in TN. It’s location on the 96’ Olympics. I have guided for 25 yrs @ocoeeadventurecenter
It isn't so much but that you think of yourself more than other people do is just you like yourself a whole lot more than other people do, my inner dialogue is mostly giving myself s***.
Selfishly, I want them to at least record some of their empty nester adventures, but I also know that leaving all the bullshit behind and just enjoying time alone is very much needed for them. The stories are always just as entertaining as a video.
Listening to them talk about not being able to do some things because of the kids activities and the core memories of being with the kids is hard to listen to knowing they both pressured Tom and Christina about going to the movie premiere after Tom had been away from his family for so long.
I legitimately love these podcasts, it's so wholesome and so absent from mainstream crap.
LeeAnn is a treasure, what a sweetie pie
Thank you for hanging out with me for an hour. Was comforting

Something about Tom causes him to have manic energy that is a little much, but at the core he’s a sweet guy! Keep killing it you two.
I totally agree, I adore Bert on this podcast too- he’s thoughtful and sweet. Every other podcast is the manic version of of him 👍
Same same same. Different people bring out different things in each of us, sometimes that energy is just too much. But sometimes (like Bert with Leeann) it’s a breath of fresh air. She definitely brings out the best in him.

Listening to Bert's Mom tell her story, has the same wild cadence, as Bert. Apples and trees 🤣🤣
8 years ago my husband & I were thrown into being empty nesters when we lost our only child.

Enjoy!
I can’t bring myself to listen to Bert anywhere else anymore. You just ground him and I love how playful you are with him. It’s just a better pace. ❤
When you come to Alaska you need to take a plane out of Talkeetna and land on a glacier on Denali. It’s spectacular!
One of my wife and i's favorite trips was getting a national parks pass and just traveling the United States hitting as many as we could. Such a beautiful country we have

Silver lake sand dunes in Michigan is what Bert is talking about. We love that place. Let us know and we'll join ya! 😉🤣
Olympic National Park up here is Washington is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful to experience!! I highly recommend it.

Come to the Fingerlakes, in Upstate NY. 100’s of Wineries and beautiful State Parks. And really great Diner Food!
Leeann if you love riding roller coasters, you will love the Eagle coaster at Dollywood. It’s one of my all time favorite coasters.

Leeanne would love mountain coasters. They have them near pigeon forge
Hike part of the Appalachian Trail, start in Watauga County NC
I think Leeann needs to spend a week in northern mi. You need to check out UP waterfalls. Quads in the woods. And fishing and spend the time on lake michigan and lake superior. It is so strange how Bert talks about previous relationship from TWO DECADES AGO before he was married. So strange.
I'm hoping Bert pulled his phone out to make a list of these places for Leeann.

Damn 354?? I missed so much
Listening to them talk about not being able to do some things because of the kids activities and the core memories of being with the kids is hard to listen to knowing they both pressured Tom and Christina about going to the movie premiere after Tom had been away from his family for so long.
Masking wanting to list his every experience by saying he just wants to see Leeann do it is wild.

Perform poetry in front of 20+ people. Work with someone and get a performance down and then do it. It feels almost Shakespearian.
I know a bunch of poets, including myself, in Minneapolis that will help you.
Who is that old lady?
Bert, get it together man. Take care of your teammate. Do your stuff at home.
Can’t listen to her complain about Bert but with a smile so it’s not sounding bitchy.
