Nice, I think you'll end up really enjoying Babymetal. Like Electric Callboy, they make metal fun. However, they will be very different from a "traditional" metal band you may be used to, as they essentially startted in 2010 fusing J-Pop routine with metal music behind them. Although, after 14 years in the metal scene, Babymetal is very much metal. You'll get a combination of goofy/fun and the epic and heavy with Babymetal's music. However, instead of the typical death growls and metal's clean singing, you get more pop-like vocals (think Amy Lee / Nightwish-esque, but Japanese). I think you know what I mean if you've heard Kingslayer. Although Momometal is starting to do some true growls, which is amazing (the 2nd "Are you ready?!" after Kevin in Ratatata). Bangers (In addition to my reply to another comment): *Metali (Official Live):* fun festival song, ft. Tom Morello on guitar solos *Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* Slipknot, but cute and adorable. *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* Love ballad, except blast beats and shreddy guitars. Just a small sample, they have so much more variety, some you may like, some you may not. But no one can argue, their live is absolutely insane. 🤘🦊
Good reaction, it is a great collaboration - and they have confirmed it was a straight 50/50 share between the two bands. With regard to Kevin's growls ... there were a couple of growls in there from BABYMETAL's third member Momometal as well (at least the second "Are you ready" and a couple of "Everbody"), so since she joined them last year it is something else they are adding ... they do have some growls and screams in quite a few of their songs, but historically those were on track. They already played this live together twice last weekend at the FOX_FEST events in Tokyo arranged and hosted by BABYMETAL. Of course Electric Callboy was one of the bands they invited to perform. You've been missing out if you've been sleeping on BABYMETAL. There is no other band quite like them, they are one of the very best live acts on the planet - certainly I was never better entertained than I was at the BABYMETAL concerts I've been to (and I've seen some of the recognised great live bands in their prime). They have about 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but they will mix and blend so many other musical styles and genres with the metal ... just expect the unexpected - and (although the official videos are all very good, live is nearly always the best way to see and hear what they are all about ... or watch both and see why we say that). "Heaviest" is debatable since they mix things up a lot. You could start with the opening track on the first album 'BABYMETAL Death' live at Legend 1997 (their concert in December 2013 celebrating lead singer Su-metal's 16th birthday), but that doesn't have a lot of vocals. Something more recent from the album released last year - 'Mirror Mirror' or 'Maya' both live at the PIA Arena April 2023.
Thanks for the info! I don't think I've been drawn to them given the anime vibe. It's something I'm sure a lot of metalheads would have to get used to. With that being said, I'm open to checking out some more of their tracks!
@@HeadbangHarbor You are very welcome. Understandable (although they have no anime connections other than Su-metal was in a group before BABYMETAL - when she was 10-11 - who sang the songs for one). You are right about metalheads having to get used to them, they really are very different, but once they can accept not everything has to fit in this or that box and there really are no rules (and if they have rules they deserve to be broken) it will click for most. It generally takes about 3 or 4 songs going from WTF is this? to This is weird, but I need to hear another song to see if that's different, to Its still weird, but I can't get it out of my head (and I keep humming the first two songs as well) and finally OK its just not like anything I've heard but I seem to be enjoying it or its just so good and I need more. Then you find yourself sitting up all night bingeing every song you can find (don't ask me how I know). For some they never get that far, which is a shame ... and for some they try but just don't like it, which is absolutely fine if its not their thing. Sadly there are still a few who point blank deny the talent, passion, quality and hard work which has gone into BABYMETAL and is what has got them where they are and why they have been going now for nearly 14 years (that is literally more than half their lives dedicated to what they do). I'm glad you're open to checking some tracks out - I'm looking forward to watching and I hope you will find they surprise you in the best way.
@@HeadbangHarbor Hehe, "anime vibes". Common misconception, although I can see that for certain songs and especially when they were much younger. Check out *Road of Resistance* and *Monochrome* from Pia Arena MM, 2023. And if you want something over the top and heavy, *BABYMETAL DEATH* from Legend 1997 show as Grinton300 suggested. 🤘🦊
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍 Is it just a coincidence that the two bands are to perform on the same days in the same places in several European festivals in June ?
Welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🤘🔥 It's always nice to see more reactors getting into this amazing group, they're a global phenomenon from Japan and trust me you have seen nothing yet. Here's a brief info about this amazing group: BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. There's no other group like them around and teaming up with this group from Germany just elevated them even higher. If you like Jpop and edm elements then you gonna find a lot of cool songs blended with heavy metal in their latest album "The Other One" released last year. Songs like Divine Attack - Shingeki, METALIZM, Time Wave and Light and Darkness among other great songs as well tracks and live performance from early era will make you bounce and rock with this insane group. Last weekend they did the live premiere of this song in Japan at FOX_FEST (a festival held by BM) and everyone went wild with this collab. The girl in the middle is the lead singer SuMetal and she actually dance less than the other girls (MoaMetal and MomoMetal) because she sings most of the time but regardless she can dance and sing and you won't even notice she's out of breath. About this song: This was filmed in Germany and the concept of the MV is they're breaking boundaries with the genres and they don't care about corporation decisions, the office with the suits workers and the Japanese boss kinda represent that. If you look into rhe song credits you'll see this was 50/50 collab song mafe by both bands or groups. The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference. The "Fu Fu" (or more like "wu-uh wu-uh") part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus but it's probably used way back before in more songs. The "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with some guitar elements. The moment when they're breaking the wall is another homage to Aerosmith x Run DMC - Walk This Way MV, symbolism of breaking the boundaries with the music genres like I already said. Also one of the singers is holding up the cable with electricity during the breakdown is a reference to "The Cable Guy" movie. Btw I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that in the MV, although fans spotted in the live version, so it was her after all. Love the euro dance and trance elements mixed with metal, they also did it with Time Wave, one of my favorite BM song from latest album The Other One. There's probably more references but I'm so far away from pop culture that i probably missing a lot more. Fun fact: EC said in a reactor comment they did the breaking the walls scene in one shot, there will be a bts so we're waiting for more. This was filmed in Germany and the crew had to put all those disco ball on the celling manually just for this song. Loved your reaction... BM+EC = FUN!.They caught lightning in a bottle with this song. Be careful what you ask for, you are about to get flooded with BabyMetal requests. And i will gladly jump on that band wagon. MAYA Karate (one of their few songs where I like the official video better than live) Road of Resistance Live in Japan (feel this is their magnum opus) Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse
Nice job👊🏽⚡️These two entities make beautiful music together. I hope they do more. Some heavy Babymetal songs are , ‘Maya’, ‘Beleiving’, ‘Mirror mirror’, and ‘Divine attack’. Another recent banger is their collab with Tom Morrello (RATM), the song ‘Metalli’.🦊🤘🏾
BABYMETAL in 2023, performed 97 live shows in 25 countries. I went to three = Japan, US, Spain, and these ladies drove everybody totally nuts everywhere!
Subscribed. An awesomely awesome performance. These two amazing bands always deliver 🔥🔥🔥 and 😁😁😁. Welcome to the fox hole. 🦊 🖖❤ Suggest: BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) to experience the full power of BABYMETAL
The screamings are done by Momo and Kevin. Momo screams Everybody (Fu-Fu) , Kevin sings Out of Control at the end. It's well mixed, so it can easily be missed during the first listen, the energy is kind of the same.
anything more kawaii than Moa smiling and highlighting her dimples? as for the harsh lyrics, when Keve screamed "wait a minute" there was a softer repeat which was Momo and I believe some of the "everybody" at the end was also Momo.
@@HeadbangHarbor if you can find a decent copy of MomoBanger on youtube Momo screams/growls after taking over the lead of the song the night before she turned 21. Also in the live version of Metali she screams "Are you ready"
It's a very catchy song, so it's easy to remember. If you continue to react to BABYMETAL, remember the Fox sign they do in the video, where they use their fingers to represent a fox in Japan.
Nice reaction! More heavy stuff of BABYMETAL... you got some recommendations to that already, but there are more. BABYMETAL are quite heavy, despite their "anime vibes" at first glance 🤣 I definetly second "BABYMETAL Death" from the "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" concert. That concert happened in 2013, they were quite young back then and Yuimetal was with them. They usually open their concerts with this piece, but in the case of the "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" concert it was the show closer. You´ll see them quite a bit differently after watching this 😉
headbanger 1997 and road of resistance live in japan (from 9 years ago) are both must watch even if you do not react to (those versions specifically). catch me if you can with kami band intro highlights the kami band and is a more entertaining song for a metal head over rondo of nightmare in my opinion.
Welcome to the Fox Hole 🦊 If one wishes to look into either groups, this is actually a perfect introduction song, not only for the parts that are their own, the entire song feels like it could entirely belong to each of them, the vibe, the visuals... So if you like this song for whatever reason, but especially how clean vocals are combined with heavy instruments, Babymetal's got something for you and they're always looking to push the boundaries mixing different genres to their own brand, never only relying on the novelty of the dichotomy of "cute metal". If you're looking for more Babymetal reactions, here's a list of some of the most popular to react to: Headbanger - specifically Legend MM 2024, do you like harsh vocals? I know I do. BxMxC - remember what I said about mixing styles, Suzuka Nakamoto is dropping BARS! Metali! - the official live version, again, Momoko Okazaki is bringing the spice! Babymetal Death - boy oh boy, this. This is what makes metal fans go bonkers, so many references to the girls' favorite bands, especially Metallica. The live version was... Very disruptive for Japan's standards, to say the least. Road of Resistance - Speed/Power Metal, one of their best, incredible for moshing and live version perfectly show how much crowd control a trio of teenage girls can have over thousands of sweaty, grey-haired, bulky metal fans if you pick their show from 2016 😂 Monochrome - you will cry. I know I did. Again, live version is better, Legend MM 2024, absolutely beautiful, they always outperform themselves live.
How Heavy do you want to go with Babymetal? Maybe a song about an Unending Nightmare of being chased by a Faceless Terror and Begging a Boon that it show you its Face just once before you die? Or how about a song called "Babymetal Death"...with a full on Crucifixion? (fyi its not really death..but Desu!!!..google it) I mean, Babymetal has many Levels all over the Metal Spectrum. Pick a song, you may get a light-hearted EDM dance mix or full on Savagery, all with Clean Vocals and one of the greatest Backing Bands in Metal today!! You just need to check out more Babymetal because the Fox Hole is Deep and they are AWESOME!!!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Certainly. You must not forget about 40% of their audience is female. And all ages between 5 and 85. Noz necessarily your typical Metal Band, but they are the internationally most successful japanese Band. This is also a problem for a lot of japanese Bands, that by themselves would blow Babymetal out of the water, but the truth is, they deliverva much better show. Which means if they have 400 guests Babymetal has 5.000.
Nice, I think you'll end up really enjoying Babymetal. Like Electric Callboy, they make metal fun. - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.

If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.

- Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
th-cam.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/w-d-xo.html
- Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
th-cam.com/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/w-d-xo.html
- Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
th-cam.com/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/w-d-xo.html
- Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
th-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BsVOSExS25Qndy1H
- Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.

Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
- GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.

This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.

And here's a BM guide (the long one).

There's a beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until last year unlike the other one with full updates till this year.

You guys have a shared google drive document or something?
@@carlosandleon Yes we have, can't share here, sorry.🦊🤘

Loved your reaction... BM+EC = FUN!.They caught lightning in a bottle with this song. Be careful what you ask for, you are about to get flooded with BabyMetal requests.
And i will gladly jump on that band wagon.
MAYA
Karate (one of their few songs where I like the official video better than live)
Road of Resistance Live in Japan (feel this is their magnum opus)
Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse
Suggest: BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) to experience the full power of BABYMETAL
This song and video easily live up to the hype!
Thank you for your reaction.
If German engineers and Japanese high-tech specialists have a child, the result looks exactly like this. ❤❤ Hardware and Software perfect combined
The screamings are done by Momo and Kevin. Momo screams Everybody (Fu-Fu) , Kevin sings Out of Control at the end.
It's well mixed, so it can easily be missed during the first listen, the energy is kind of the same.
Momo also screams the 2nd 'Are you ready'. That isn't Kevin.
anything more kawaii than Moa smiling and highlighting her dimples? as for the harsh lyrics, when Keve screamed "wait a minute" there was a softer repeat which was Momo and I believe some of the "everybody" at the end was also Momo.
I love it! I want more Japanese female harsh vocalists 😂
@@HeadbangHarbor if you can find a decent copy of MomoBanger on youtube Momo screams/growls after taking over the lead of the song the night before she turned 21. Also in the live version of Metali she screams "Are you ready"
@@nothsor What did I just watch?! 😂Everyone was bowing to her like it was some sort of ritual LOL
@@HeadbangHarbor not a cult :)
@@HeadbangHarbor #notAcult. : )
I love it.
actually the second and third choruses are Su and Nico together, it's not just BabyMetal
Just like all the screams isn't only EC...
@@tiggerswe5713 much as I miss Yui, Momo brings so much to the table, the little ball of chaos that she is ;)
It's a very catchy song, so it's easy to remember. If you continue to react to BABYMETAL, remember the Fox sign they do in the video, where they use their fingers to represent a fox in Japan.
Babymetal Death Legend 1997 (complete)
Welcome to the Fox Hole 🦊
If one wishes to look into either groups, this is actually a perfect introduction song, not only for the parts that are their own, the entire song feels like it could entirely belong to each of them, the vibe, the visuals... So if you like this song for whatever reason, but especially how clean vocals are combined with heavy instruments, Babymetal's got something for you and they're always looking to push the boundaries mixing different genres to their own brand, never only relying on the novelty of the dichotomy of "cute metal".
If you're looking for more Babymetal reactions, here's a list of some of the most popular to react to:
Headbanger - specifically Legend MM 2024, do you like harsh vocals? I know I do.
BxMxC - remember what I said about mixing styles, Suzuka Nakamoto is dropping BARS!
Metali! - the official live version, again, Momoko Okazaki is bringing the spice!
Babymetal Death - boy oh boy, this. This is what makes metal fans go bonkers, so many references to the girls' favorite bands, especially Metallica. The live version was... Very disruptive for Japan's standards, to say the least.
Road of Resistance - Speed/Power Metal, one of their best, incredible for moshing and live version perfectly show how much crowd control a trio of teenage girls can have over thousands of sweaty, grey-haired, bulky metal fans if you pick their show from 2016 😂
Monochrome - you will cry. I know I did. Again, live version is better, Legend MM 2024, absolutely beautiful, they always outperform themselves live.
used be tragedy but now hope of the ally
Best collaboration ever. 🤘🦊🤘
Babymetal - Road Of Resistance (PIA Arena 2023 Live)
MOMOMETAL SCREAMS TOO!!!!! Shes the second "ARE YOU READY" im sure youve read the comments but yeah!
How Heavy do you want to go with Babymetal?
Maybe a song about an Unending Nightmare of being chased by a Faceless Terror and Begging a Boon that it show you its Face just once before you die?
Or how about a song called "Babymetal Death"...with a full on Crucifixion? (fyi its not really death..but Desu!!!..google it)
I mean, Babymetal has many Levels all over the Metal Spectrum.
Po!
ありがとう🤩
React to Metali

😻RATATATA😻
EPIC
This has certainly been a bigger success than the last time Germany and Japan collaborated.
That comment had me GEEKED.
We also need a band from Italy.. 😝
Which means if they have 400 guests Babymetal has 5.000.
that intro song was fire! What is it?
Electric Callboy - pump it.
Momoko screams the second Are you ready and everybody together with Kevin.
If you want more Japanese female harsh vocals, then you need to check out Hanabie
Thank you for the recommendation! Keep em coming 🤘
Wait! I remember someone showing me one of their tracks. The lead girl has some effortless screams 👏
