You're the greatest. I saw the post you made just after your grandfather died. very sad, but inspirational and very moving. I'll remember it forever. You're the greatest!
I'm a dad with 4 girls and 1 son and when she went up on the pivot I actually said be careful!
Know exactly how you feel!
You must be a good Dad!
Me too, I have a daughter. Wonder if there is a safety belt she or anyone could wear while doing this job?
A safety belt and a rope with a snap hook
Me too! I guess once a dad always a dad! She is pretty awesome!
My first visit to Nebraska was 4-5 years ago and I drove the length of the state. I came up from North Carolina to visit friends just outside of Scottsbluff. The two things I couldn’t get used to were the flies and the wind. Both of which were nonstop.
Spending most of my life in the northeastern states, seeing so much flat ground was interesting. It sort of reminded me of a trip I took to Texas, only greener.
You two help give me help give me a little hope and faith in our next generation and humanity. And I’ll say “smile and the world smiles with you” and Miss Laura is always smiling.
Thanks for taking us along!
What a fantastic eye opening amazing video Laura you are never afraid of hold back in getting in and doing any work at all ,,, you both NEED a tradesman work utility belt !!! Thanks for a great vid 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
I am 66 years old and have lived in central Indiana my whole adult life. I have driven down the Interstate and saw pivots on farm fields and knew that they were for irrigation, but had no idea what they were called and how they worked. It wasn't until I started watching your channel a couple of weeks ago that I learned how these gadgets worked. BTW, I found out about your channel when you became a Bunker Branding partner. I already watch Demolition Ranch, Off the Ranch, Ryan McBeth and Donut Operator. I also watch Matt's Off Road Recovery, who you have mentioned.
You guys rock. I was raised on a farm, my dad rented a chicken farm. Every nine weeks we cleaned everything . I washed so many watering jars, etc etc. I understand hard work. When I was drafted oh so many years ago, I remember telling my Dad, “hey Dad we exercise, shoot guns and eat three humongous meals a day. I love It, and all the hot water for showers that we need!!!” Yeah, some guys cried from the exercise, I didn’t understand. Good stuff Laura!
You guys are nutsssss! I could never go up on the pivot like that.. Great job, thanks for sharing and Laura, I love that smile.
I have noticed real growth in this channel. In that I mean the production value, the filming, and the ease with which both of you present yourselves on camera. Great job, both of you.
SHE STILL ACTS LIKE SHES 12 LOVES HER BEAUTY SHOTS N HUBBY RAM DOES ALL THE WORK N THERE MICS STINK
Have you thanked a farmer today. I know I sure will. Incredibly hard, frustrating, daunting, rewarding, and, if you're lucky, relatively profitable work. THANK YOU Grant & Laura!
Nice wobblers! Those are great low pressure sprinklers and theyre like natural rain. The application rate is just right and easy on the crop. I have a couple ive used in my parent's garden they do really well!
It is amazing how great you look no matter how dirty you get. Working in your farm seems to be a passion allowing you to express yourself, and also to explore and develop your talents and skills about farming. Luara I am happy to see you following your dreams. Farming is a skill not many people have. You have that skill. It seems you were met to do what you are doing right now. Farming gives you energy as you go through life.
Calm down Harry!
Laura's smile makes these videos look like she really loves life and farming
I’m loving the teamwork and your toughness!
It's a great thing to see beautiful working relationship, it sets a good example to other couples Keep it up Grant and Laura .
Everytime I finish watching your video I have a good feeling. It's always great to see you both working your dream and succeeding in all your endeavors. Thanks for sharing.
Working at height a safety harness is appropriate they don’t cost much but will save your life if one was to fall .
100% agree.
Especially in high wind areas duh LOL
In several shots, there was a steel cable running the length of the pivot. It looked like the perfect place to anchor a safety harness. I think you would be super cute wearing a safety harness.
I so enjoy seeing and Grant working together.
Excellent job explaining the difference between the 2 types of sprinkler and why it matters.
I have sold seed for 35 years. One of my favorite customers and old neighbor here in adjacent townships that we knew quite well. Back before the Advent of Roundup ready beans he always said never plant more beans through the day then you can get out after supper and spray because if there's any moisture at all in the soil they're going to sprout in about 48 to 72 hours there going to be up. I've always remembered that.
Love how you don't let the set backs knock you off kilter. ❤
There is so much so many people could learn from watching you and Grant working together.
We can acknowledge how good Laura farms montage's have gotten.
I am always impressed by the way she accomplishes the hard work on her farm.
Thanks Laura & Grant, it's great to see you two just being you!
I love watching Laura and Grant working and playing!!😊
Thanks for sharing your life with us!
We just got hail!
God Bless you!
Please please get those PTO shafts guarded, just takes a split second to get caught up in one of those
Awesome to see you two growing your family farm, and doing so much maintenance and repairs, as you learn to get the best results. In your process to maintain and improve your irrigation systems, I worry about your safety, especially as you multitask from such an elevated position. Just a quick recommendation that you look into fall protection harnesses for you and Grant. I’m sure you’ve seen grain bin builders using them, and we use them all the time in the emergency service field. Truly want you two to keep doing great on your farm, and growing, while adding this beneficial safety component when you’re working in unpredictable elevations.
Look at these two legends planting acres! Parents did such a good job on you both.
This is extremely valuable for those of us who only learned of pivots from flying, looking down, and wondering why there are circles on fields.
You Two Are An Awesome Team!!
Keep Smiling On!!
😀👍👊❤
Laura your definitely a rock star! You just got right up on the pivot and went to work! Great job you two..
I see, Grant is a man of Culture . Thank you good fellow man .
Just a suggestion Laura and Grant, when climbing on the pivots, you might choose to wear a safety harness with tie off to the cables running along the pivot. Then if you had a slip, your fall would be limited. Yeah I know.. what a pain... but, you only have one life.
Thank you for the video and the smiles you give to us. I got scared for you when that wind started whipping. I thought you were going to get blown off the pivot.
Laura you scare the heck out of me, watching you climb around on that pivot!!!
Fascinating how those pivot sections move independent of one another and yet work together as a whole.
Having to look that up because I too am trying to imagine how it senses movement between all the drive units to keep it strait and identify a stuck or broken drive unit. Voodo majic man ha ha ha....
A good video of one being built and how all the bits work together- 14:30 talks about keeping the pivot towers aligned
th-cam.com/video/7j1lMs7fcIQ/w-d-xo.html
@@aaronsbarker i was going to link that but you were faster =) he nails it !
sounds like society!
@@js7127 From what I understand the section on the end furthest from the center moves all the time. At each joint between the other sections there is a sensor that detects defection as each section gets out of line. Once the deflection gets great enough it turns on the motor for that section and moves it forward until it gets ahead of the next section outside it when it shuts things off. It then sits there until the sensor tells it to move again. I may be way off but this is how I imagine these things work.
I just get downright excited because another video from Laura! I always sit here just waiting for the next one☺️👍🕺🏼 1:59
Earliest I’ve ever been. Love watchin y’all do what ya do. Got me wanting to get back into the kind of work I did with my granddad when I was a young’un. Keep up the good work!
You guys are a inspiring young hard working couple always positive don't matter the situation that pops up every day I have a good time watching your videos from Puerto Rico Caribbean islands keep up the good work at your farm
I've really enjoyed watching y'all grow...I've been watching now a couple of years now and y'all have expanded to your own crops! I'm impressed of how well y'all handle things. By the way, speaking of handling things, that big bag of seed was not light!!! I can tell you're so used to handling heavy material, you're a small package, but dynamite comes in small packages!!!
Great video Laura and Grant !!! We see the love you have for each other while you're working and looking out for each other !!😊
I really enjoy watching you and Grant working on your farm and love your interactions, what a team. Hope you have a great harvest.
I’ve driven by these systems hundreds of times and wondered how they work. Now I know. Also, I just purchased a set of ratcheting wrenches for a shock replacement. Game changer from traditional wrenches.
Love it, and love how positive the two of you remain, despite setbacks!! Also, how do you work so much with your hands and still have fingernails. I wear gloves almost all the time, and you (Laura) never seem to!
I used to work for Valley at Valmont in Valley, NE. Nice to see those tower boxes in use. Might be I made one. Love you guys!
It is a beautiful thing when one completes his work in cultivation, waits for growth, and prepares a soul for me, followed by the necessary medicines
This is really interesting. Normally people don't think about all the work that has been done to bring food on their plate.
Have you got a safety harness on. All that is not worth it if you or Grant fall. Perfect video guys and Does Pivot ever get stuck. A great video for me and your viewers would be how the drive system works on the pivot. Awesome videos and thanks for them.
That is a nature miracle
Your voice-over is perfect....and you could do children's audiobooks - kids will love the tone of your voice.
I like Grant's Roadkill shirt.
The pivot works . Good work.
FUN TO LEARN ABOUT HOW THE PIVOTS WORK,GREAT VIDEO
6:12, Nice looking shorts, LOL-LOL. I & my sister will be passing by on I-80 WEST this week & will watch for you out working.
Great video Laura...always enjoy tagging along with you guys...
You are a hard working and fun couple. Thanks for the pivot tutorial, I learned something. BTW Laura, you are cute even when drenched!
YES!!!!!!
looking at all those sprinkler heads it's incredible how much you have to irrigate there to get things to grow.
Grant with the General Mayhem t-shirt 🤘🏻. Also, OSHA would die with the number of safety violations farmers have to do just to get the job done in order to keep feeding the world 😂
Great work Laura and Grant! Thanks for sharing! 🙂❤
Good luck Laura ☺👍👍👍👍👍😍
I worked on a pivot many years ago. We used 2 extension ladders to replace all the rusty sprinkler heads up on top. It took 2 people to break free some of those heads. It took just as long to move the ladders by hand to the next spot.
That pivot looks like it's over a thousand feet long. What would your guess be?
@@bige.3474 1000 ft pivot would only cover 75 acres. So it's more like 1500 feet, that would cover around 160 acres.
It’s great following the season as it progresses
Gratitude for America farmers
You are a remarkable couple! You work so well together, and the videos are becoming more professional with each new one.
There must be some attachment to the iPhone that can be used to reduce wind noise somehow. A wireless Bluetooth mic with a foam ball maybe?
Have a great season Laura and Grant!!!! You two make a great team!!!!!
you are amazing young lady. Love to see how well you work together with hubby.
Its very interesting to see how farming is done. Thanks for sharing....
Great video. A safety harness is essential.
So is a tool belt so that your equipment doesn’t fall out and cause s hazard.
Your videos are very interesting particularly the use of pivots which I don’t know much about how they work.
Nice job! So much to prepare in order to get those pivots moving right! ❤😊
When on the irrigation wings I can hear it now. "Time to do some sketchy shit, doo dah, doo dah" 🤣
Girl you got the most awesome smile you know Grant keep living the life mama
Well TH-cam done it again you put a smile on my face it's always a pleasure to see you two working together it's refreshing and it does my heart good I worked as a ranch hand in the past in eastern Oregon in the Blue mountains I can tell you it's something I do miss I used to have to move handline and wheel line fortunately it was only 44 acres but we sure gruesome good alfalfa 🤠😎🥰
looks like a( simple hunting type )fall prevention vest would be a very good and cheap investment.
Beautiful nails Laura working that pipe wrench. You amaze me.
I think it is real cool that u get in the work. My wife would not be seen doing that . corn in Ohio is about 2 inches tall June 2
Millions of gallons of free water. So awesome.
So that’s the way to make it rain. I’m gonna have to do something like that here. It hasn’t rained since April here in southeastern Pennsylvania. We need rain badly.
Excellent. Video explained as we out east don’t have irrigation THANX
Thanks for the informative pivot video
The best looking plumber I’ve ever seen
Fantastic video!
I stay in Grand Island every year last week in June. Since 2008, I have seen wet and windy, hot and windy and cold and windy. Never no wind....
Destin of Smarter Every Day has a great video showing the mechanicals and how the pivot irrigation system works, how it stays in line etc.
That's some awesome info y'all shared, I'm in the Athletic field business and the sheer amount of irrigation heads and styles is mind boggling at times nice to know your irrigation systems are just as complicated, if not more so than ours. I love learning new information from y'all, keep up the good work!
I enjoy watching you 2 Farm together. And I have defiantly learned a lot about farming over the years watching you Haha and I was just looking for a tutorial on farm sim 19.
Thank you both for sharing
I thought climbing up there was safe until I heard Grant say "it's totally safe"...but I like how you guys take care of business yourself unless absolutely necessary.
Please use one of the telehandlers to do this work. Be safe! Thank you! Keep up the great work.
Always be careful… really impressive stuff!
Great team work
Great job guys
Nice work on the sprinkler head toss. That was a classic.
I enjoy how your videos are both entertaining and educational!
Always look forward to your videos. Thank you!
Center pivots: So simple, yet so ingenious! Also, 12:19 was priceless. 😀
Great video. Relieved to hear you mention that a PTO shaft cover will be added soon! Worries the crap out of me how easy it is to loose an arm, leg or be scalped by a PTO shaft!
Why doesn’t Laura have a safety harness on? Safety first, especially with the wind blowing 😬🤔
Nice job guys!!!
