For recycling by separating and discharging waste, I made a Styrofoam cutting machine. Styrofoam used for packaging boxes and food packaging is so bulky that it is difficult to put it in a garbage bag. So I cut the Styrofoam into small pieces so that it can be easily put in a garbage bag. It's very convenient, and it's very beautiful to cut into pieces. Now I think I can easily throw away the Styrofoam. I was very shocked when I made this work. In Korea, where I live, it has been almost 20 years since we started separating wastes at the national level and throwing away recyclable materials separately. But there are still several countries that do not separate emissions. The Earth is sick. Microplastics from the waste that has flowed into the ocean are threatening the health of our humanity at the peak of the food chain. Toxic gases from burning plastic pollute the atmosphere. Separation and recycling of waste are essential for me and our descendants. It's also a more efficient way to use Earth's resources. I hope many people will see this work, make it, and participate in the separation and recycling of waste. Thank you.
Resistance heat cutting works great, note some materials especially some foam material create a poisonous gas. Love your creative engineering, that will save a lot of time if you need a consistent size and shape.
you're right. Toxic gas is produced. So, when filming indoors, I turned on the ventilation system sufficiently. I will use it outdoors, but I will be careful. Thank you.

Are you talking about making nichrome wires in two layers, horizontally and vertically? It is not easy to make one layer in a grid format. Electrical wiring doesn't work. If there is an intersection of nichrome wires, a short circuit will occur. thank you!
I love your projects. You could've easily skipped the legs though and just store it on the wall or something when not in use and put it on top of a garbage bin. :D
I am looking for this to cut 2.5 inch by 3.5 inch rectangle pieces. Can you build and sell me one? I need it to fit 24 inch by 36 inch sheets that are approximately 1 inch thick. It needs to be able to cut Polyethylene and Polyurethane foam (We do not need it for Polystyrene)
Electric shock is very dangerous. However, in this case I would consider it a very safe and desirable situation that is within acceptable limits. thank you!
Your comment is very relevant. It makes perfect sense for you to consider the thermal conductivity of copper wire and the melting point of hot melt. However, one thing missing is the length of the spring. The heat from the nichrome wire must be transferred through the spring, which is stretched rather than contracted. That heat isn't enough to melt the hot melt. The temperature of hot melt can be considered to be almost similar to room temperature. thank you!
@@Kynosys_ Stable use is the most important. I used hot melt glue incorrectly. When faced with heat-resistant occasions, switched to insulating silicone.
As you said, I didn't even think about it even though I have heat-resistant silicone. I guess I had a strong desire to make it quickly. I'll definitely have to try it next time.
I enjoyed the video you introduced. Perhaps because it's the US, the size is really big! The small size is enough for me, but if I get the chance, I would like to try making the large size.

Copper is a better conductor of electricity and heat than steel wire. Even hot melt glue will melt at 280℃. I don't think this is a good idea.
