@@wilbowaggons_main i know when something is overrated, it isnt even a genre, its an artist s syle. They all sound the same, and they re doing way to good on numbers. All because of tik tok. It won't take over the world tho cuz no one loves listening to a cowbell non stop
Phonk technically started in Memphis, I know this is a Drift Phonk tutorial but imo it’s always good reference a genres origins especially to the producer community so they can deep dive and do their own research. It’s also very easy to erase the OG’s pioneers contributions to production. Otherwise props for putting this together 🤟🏾
I disagree that Drift Phonk comes from Memphis. There is no denying that elements of Drift Phonk can be traced back to Memphis through genres such as Crunk, Dirty South and Horrorcore, similar to the influences on Trap music. While it's important to acknowledge that Drift Phonk draws much of its inspiration from Memphis Rap, it is worth noting that Drift Phonk actually originated in Russia, just as Trap originated in Atlanta.
@@Clownie_Smilesfair enough man and again it’s a great video, just sharing my unsanctioned opinion 😅. I would challenge your analogy though. To say Drift Phonk originated in Russia is like saying Australian Hip Hop originated in Australia. Not to mention how Drift Phonk actually samples original Phonk vocals. It’s not even a critique just a request to add more insight in future videos but again it’s just my opinion as a producer who nerds out.
I'm going on 5-years of beat making -- making music that I actually enjoy listening to and it all started with your videos. I'm glad to see that you are still doing your thang! :)
After all of these years watching your videos and learning from you I think this approach where are you integrate yourself into the videos the way you are now is absolutely stellar you’re killing it man
This is in the top 3 Phonk instructional uploads I've seen this weekend. I'm doing a quick study for some pieces I'm missing before I get started, you have provided me with those pieces. If I heard the (Initial lyrics before you mangled them) and had to match the face I would have lost the bet LOL. Thanks for the run thru.
I don't know if this was phonk 2 years ago but at least now it's quite a bit more complex/refined. This beat didn't get much love. I guess usually it doesn't show on your projects because we can focus on the lyrics, but here it felt so plain that I actually drifted to focus on the video of the cars and couldn't stay on track to get a good listen.
You have motivated me for years in my music bro. I started watching you years back. Please do a video on "Spark Master Tape" when you can. That would be dope!! Keep doing you!
3:58 wait WTF was that at the end of that audio clip?? Is that to keep it from clipping? I didn't know about that. I gotta figure out how to set mine up like that
yeah I thought that this is too slow for drift phonk, plus aren't the cowbell melodies also usually very hectic in that subgenre. this is maybe more like 'normal' phonk... it's still good thou
@@CrossmoorMafia my comment was ironic, I too believe that was a bit slow for phonk but if u want to succeed u must not go with everything that books say, look at netuh and lxst cxntury for example that the one makes even slower phonk and the other atmospheric, wavy and melodic
this is such a good video! ive always wanted to try and do phonk drift. but what is that effect at 8:17 called where it fades out (but in a cool way)? i would be really interested
You know the style of music is doing well when J rent does his take.

Damn right it does

We cannot let this channel die. C'mon guys, where would you all 15 yo producers be if he didn't make those videos?
The only problem is that you mixed and mastered it well!

"Waltuh, put your gun away Waltuh, Let's make some drift phonk Waltuh"
😂😂😂
This has to be the most effort put into a driftphonk beat!! Great Job!!
yea a lot of phonk artists the ctrl c ctrl v every sing with slight differences, or add way too much to it ruining the song
rewatching some of your older shit and dayummm this one is fire especially with the montage, you kiled it as always!

The beat, video aesthetics - everything - is always on point 🔥🔥
right when I start getting into phonk j rent stay with the mind reading
My favorite part of the Phonk aesthetic has gotta be the sleigh bells
Cowbells

@@D.nomsed whoops lol
Let´s just play like this freestyle section never happend :D
there is an 808 cowbell in the fl stock drums folder und percussion just pitch it down and add some effects and youre good to go😌
Damn you did that just like nothing and it sounds dope🔥🔥

Absolutely nutty bro, I love it!! Thank you so much for this, great tutorial!

J rent deserve a million subscribers
J rent is the best, he makes music production easy peasy . I 🤔 J rent is a God amongst men 🙌
it turned out to be very interesting, but in Russia fonk in this genre sounds different. Kaito Shoma is a great example of this genre
i made a few but i didn't even knew its called drift phonk.till this day
