Nice review Scotty. Would like to see those Royal Oaks go up against the Char Hickory from Lumberjack. A battle of the charcoal pellets would be quite useful.
I'm a newbie when it comes to owning a pellet grill smoker. I bought a Traeger about 7 months ago, and I'm still experimenting with different types of meats, spices or rubs, and pellets. I grew up on the old fashion charcoal and lighter fluid grilling of the 70s and 80s, so I remember that great charcoal flavor as well. I recently bought a bag of Royal Oak charcoal pellets and want to compare them to wood pellets. Thank you for the review. I appreciate your efforts and comments.
I’m bearmountain all the way! My experience with the Royal pellets is that they burn really really hot. I’ll sometime add a couple handfuls to my hopper to mix with other pellets but I do not run a full hopper on Royal alone. They burn waaay too hot. With that being said, they are a great product
Congratulations another great video, your choice of subject matter is always interesting, because a video I will now try the royal oak pellets, thanks, Scotty
I bought a few bags last year of the red white and bbq basically hickory and oak if they would ad pecan to that mix there would be no other pellet for me.
Great video. I run bear moutain cherry a ton and get great color. But i also mix royal oak in with it. It makes a great combo. You should get the lumber jack charcoal pellets and compare them to the royal oak.
@@ScottysBackYardBBQ How I got into lumberjack is my Rona started carrying them in 3 varieties 100% oak, Supreme blemt and compition blend Supreme blend being my favorite which is a mix of cherry, oak, and hickory I have ordered 100% apple, charcoal hickory and mesquite off their website and none of them disappoint I defiantly really like the Mesquite blend for biscuit, the 100% apple is really good with pork
@ScottysBackYardBBQ I just bought that Ninja Woodfire Pro XL & I'm trying to figure out a combination to start with...I like an offset but now in an apartment, trying to see a way to start out!
I’ve tried royal oak I didn’t care for them and they also are a little harder that other pellets and made my auger pop all the time when feeding them to the burn pot not worth the price they sale them for
I have used both of them for me it is Royal Oak ..just my personal opinion. Not a fan of Bear Mountain..Only use Royal Oak now and have tried every brand...good video Scotty
