But that didn't matter to me...I was hooked..

Look at how Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced hits for Cherelle, Human League, Janet Jackson and Alexander O'Neal and a few others too. Jesse Johnson, another talented artist that did not need to front for Prince.

The worst thing that Warner Bros ever did was try to manipulate Prince's album release schedules in the 1990's. The man was making good music even then, so why get in the way of it or delay it? Especially after they had invested so much cash building Paisley Park Studios for him. What did they expect for kind of money? Prince to only put out an album with ten tracks on it every 18 months or so, like their sister label Atlantic Records was requiring Inxs to do? What the Warners should have done is let Prince release material on his Paisley Park Records sub label on his own schedule, not theirs. Prince's material didn't require record label promotions or backing. Prince proved this to them when he asked not to spend any money promoting "Around The World In a Day." His albums were selling by themselves on their own merits. Not to mention, Prince had a history or working with other artists and making them successful for Warner Bros, as demonstrated here with the The Time. They too, could've been releasing stuff under Prince's Paisley Park Records sub label and still making a killing for the Warners in distribution. Oh well, guess you can't fix stupid.
