  • This video was made with a Roland S-1, a Behringer JT-4000, a Microcosm Hologram, and a Strymon Nightsky. The last unit mentioned, the Strymon Nightsky, was a recent purchase. I got it used from Reverb from a seller in California (thanks for making this happen). Much to my surprise, I was able to make the shimmering tonalities with only a few minutes of tweaking. I was expecting the learning curve to be longer than this (it may still be so as I explore the capabilities more in depth). I added a layer of chanting "Hreeh" to the mix which had used Audacity, the Eventide Space Reverb, the Eventide Blackhole, and Paul Stretch. I had some challenge volume balancing the two parts of the mix and I noticed that the composition sounded different with my two different speaker sets and my headphones. I am hoping to evolve the tonality blending more in the future.
The chant in the background is "Hreeh" which is the seed syllable for Divine Grace as purifying magenta fire. It burns away our sanskara karma formations. I find that I prefer to chant seed syllables. I have spent time chanting longer mantras and dharanis, but find there is greater concentration chanting seed syllables. One condenses the meaning of the longer chants to just one seed syllable and puts energy, intent, and concentration into this. By doing so, we form a kind of laser beam that can cut through anything.
It is important to have the breathing be deep, slow, and full, and let the Seed Syllable ride the exhale. It is important, too, to take a deep, slow, and full inhale between each chant that we do. I have noticed a lot of chanters do not do this, and I invite them to try this, and feel the difference.

I am planning, BTW, to make these videos whether or not donations happen. I am making, however, some financial decisions where some donations may be helpful. One is that I hope to make a place where people can download the music and put it on loop for long meditation stretches. Right now, I have some download ability on audio (dot) com, but the max storage in 2 gb for free downloads to happen. I may decide to rotate some music and keep it free, or, if I get some donations, to subscribe to a decent download server where I can put a lot of music online and available for meditation. Also, I am planning to put some meditation manuals online so that greater detail and guidance can be given. Later on, I wish to put some talks where the information can be given in this manner. Each format can give knowledge and feeling for the process in a different and complementary way.
