@@scrappychildhood6633 Were in the same boat 🤣
I originally had the BlackView BV9100. Had software issues with it.
Now I'm currently on the power armour 13.
For me the cons of switching to this
*No wireless charging (These phones are not common in the USA. Getting a spare charging board may take weeks if importing from China. While you may be able to use a phone with a cracked screen for a bit waiting for a part to arrive via snail mail. Not having a backup method to charging your phone incase of an accident is not good IMO.)
*Loss of FM radio. I just like this feature in the woods out west in USA. Sometimes you have no data while going on a hike in the middle of nowhere but you can almost always rely on FM radio for music for when music apps only want to run in offline mode.
*Loss of AUX. Another personal comfort item. I'm buying a phone with 22,000Mah I'm pretty sure I'm the kind of person who doesn't want to rely on wireless headphones that only have a 300Mah battery to be lightweight and comfortable. If I can put up with carry a literal brick in my pocket the inclusion of an aux port would be nice (oh no wired headphones I'm so scared it's going to make my cinder block look outdated)
*The screen size is smaller..... Slightly (I've grown accustomed to bigger is better. Talking about screen size that is 😅🥵)
After watching this video I used the affiliate link though. I honestly couldn't pass up the pros
      *Faster CPU
      *More power efficient CPU
      *Bigger battery.
*Night vision (Would have preferred a Flir camera instead because I could use it at work)
*Android 12 always nice to have newer security patches
*Other pros exist but they don't really affect me as much (I'm a budget cellphone buyer. Not a $90 a month Verizon unlimited 5G member) I have unlimited data but I get my speed throttled after 15GB with a 3rd party carrier.
I'll try to remember to come back to this video and let you know how I like it when it arrives.

@@scrappychildhood6633 Definitely currently happy with the V-Max.
Noticably faster than my power armor 13.
Charged to 100% Sunday into Monday morning.
Friday after work I still had 41% remaining
My general usage of my phone is as follows.
1-2 hours of TH-cam a day. After work
      30-60mins of phone calling.
      During work
1 hour of general internet browsing (News, work related searches, checking in on family on Facebook)
1-2 hours of waze 3 days of the work week (Travel for work)
(I'm not a heavy cellphone user. I just wanted something with a long lasting battery.)
For testing purposes I did try a few games on Saturday because I may play games if I'm on a plane or train for work but that isn't as common for me. I will say that the gaming performance was a lot smoother on the V-Max than my power armor 13.

@@scrappychildhood6633 I have had a lot of rugged phones and i recently went from Ulefone pa13 to Doogee V Max and I love it. Specs is so good. So Doogee V Max is a solid upgrade from Ulefone pa13. And Dimensity 1080 in Doogee V Max is 6nm.

Specs on Doogee website says it has 2300 hours of standby, witch is very close to WP19 but Vmax has 5g that uses more battery, WP19 & Tank are still only 4g. I would still pick the WP19, 1000mAh is not much more, seems like Doogee & Unihertz could of made bigger than 2200mAh but just wanted to say worlds biggest battery, plus I think the WP19 is built better.

  • @E4K9

The VMAX battery is incredible considering the specs it’s running. lowering the refresh rate dramatically increases battery time. Running at 120mhz will obviously drain battery faster, but even then it still lasts forever

  • @Valentinfj
    @Valentinfj ปีที่แล้ว +7

The Oukitel WP6 wins against the Doogee S88 Pro when it comes to battery life despite having the same chipset. Maybe V Max's loudspeakers play a role at power consumption. The autonomy may vary when you use 120Hz refresh rate or adaptive refresh rate. We need to also know the screen resolution and pixel density.
Dimensity 1080 - LPDDR5 and higher CPU clock speed

I think the battery differences between the WP19 are due to:
-Higher refresh rate screen (120hz vs 90hz)
    -5G antennas
    -Possibly higher power consumption chipset
I'm sure it will have the same (or better) battery than the WP19 if you turn off 5G and set the screen to 90Hz.

Hands on expirence. The battery lasts less than 6 days.
Best I could get is 70 hours of normal use for a single charge at 100%. Add gaming and all added in the mix, 30hours for modrate use. And heavy use of the internet non-stop is about 24hours.
So 6 days is exaggerated. 6 days max use for phone calls only I'd say.

Hey, I'm also considering this phone. Do you still have it? If so, have you tested the battery capacity with Accubattery app? How much SOT do you get about from 100 to 0%? And over how many days ofc
I have the Unihertz Tank (It also supposed to have a 22 000mah battery) and I get around 30h++ SOT over 3-4 days (and night) if used heavily 😅

from 100 to 0%. It takes like 7 days on moderate to normal use. Most hours I've seen on accu battery is 160 hours from 100% to 0. Screen on time was 60 hours.
The worst one from gaming and leaving 120 Hertz on is arround 4+ days. Screen on time was 40 hours.
So now I just leave the display setting to auto.

@@Stephanox69 from what I see in accu battery. I did from 100% to 4%. It said 21120 mAh. I did the math and found out that it was taking reading from the design capacity.
But the estimated battery capacity is
19500. I haven't done a full drain and charge since I got it. The capacity might jump to 20000
Now I know why it cannot reach 10 days. It's missing 25%. 5-7 days is good enough for me.

This runtime comparison is not making any sense whatsoever. Manufacturers of phones systematically overstate their runtime. I mean everyone. So comparing given or official numbers from brand A versus brand B is almost completely meaningless. You have to run the actual tests. They overstate capacity, overstate runtime and with flashlights, overstate lumens. Overstating number is the industry norm. 999 hours of stand by. I don't think so. Everyone knows that. You have to question every bit of data they provide as it's always optimistic. I have never been able to replicate their numbers in real life with any brand. Even Alpha brands like Samsung or LG.
Having said that, I've ran a fully charged V Max and it took me about 4 days to discharge it. It's the best performance I've ever seen. I also have Oukitel WP15 and it V Max feels heavier, so the battery looks bigger. If you full charge the battery to 4.4V, it will easily run for 4 days with normal usage. But fully charging to 4.4V is not recommended as it's hard on the battery, 4.0V (80%) will give a lot more recharge cycles.

It seems as it was indeed a mistake or inaccurate information on their own website. On their CURRENT website they say that it has 2300 hours of standby time which is around 95 days. This brings it MUCH closer to the others. Likewise the “normal use” time is now listed as 240 hours (about 10 days) , and 109talk hours. Again, it may be SLIGHTLY shorter. But it’s close to the others. I’ve noticed that in a couple of other cases, the preliminary information was different than the final information.

Smaller transistor size is supposed to increase electrical efficiency. The Helio G95 in the WP19 is 12nm where the Dimensity 1080 is 6nm in the DOOGEE.

Maybe the other companies are over compensating.
Real world data with DOOGEE vs Synthetic data from other companies.
Unless testing methods are consistent with all the companies you can't truly tell unless the phones are side by side in person.
It's like saying an Intel CPU beats an AMD CPU with similar clock speed and core count.
There's AMD CPU's that could woop ass in file compression but loose 5-10fps in some games depending on game engine (unity, direct x12..ect)
The marketing AMD saying.... Oh it's 15% faster than Intel's i9 13900k but doesn't say the metrics they chose.
They might list x264 encoding as a method of data collection....... UNLESS YOUR A FILM STUDIO OR A TH-cam STREAMER WHO EDITS IN 8K x264 encoding is the last metric you would want to use to say a product is 15% faster (feels like fake advertising)..... But companies can get away with because "technically" they have proven it's 15% faster. This does not in turn mean it's getting 15% better gaming performance. (It may) even perform worse at gaming then it's competitor by a marginal amount because they are just trying to advertise (Overall performance) and not (exact performance).
It's not exactly the math that's wrong. It's the fact that every company uses different variables Y+7=X to try to get a leg up on their marketing/advertisement of their own product.
It's not skewing results it's putting the results in your favor.

You do know the s89pro has a processor that 30% slower right?
The DOOGEE s89pro being a slower phone you get less done with the battery you do have, because more of your time is waiting for stuff to load.
Not only is the p90 slower of a processor but it also has a higher clock rate of @2.20 Ghz compared to @2.05 on the Blackview
The problem isn't the battery in the DOOGEE s98pro. It's the electrical loss of a processor that runs slower and uses more energy. The DOOGEE phone you chose uses it's battery in an inefficient manner compared to the more power efficient parts inside the Blackview bv8800's.
      Putting in an analogy.
If you give a professional runner 100Calories for breakfast.
That 100 calories is going to last longer in a professional runner than an average citizen. (BATTERY/CALORIE) (RUNNER/PHONES WAY OF USING THE CALORIES)

@Rayne Forrest thanks for all the expert advice, I also bought a 86pro, both phones had a night vision camera which was useless and new doogee v Max is not much better apparently, however the night vision camera on my blackview bv8800 is excellent, I will never buy a doogee again.

When I said P90 it's the name of a component inside the phone. Not the name of another phone.

@@Stormyday-zg7iz I went to college for electrical engineering and microarchitecture was a big segment I focused on.
You can gather data and say the bigger battery drains faster. As an electrical engineer you have to figure out what's causing it to drain faster.
If you can prove the batter is bigger the only thing that's giving you less usage are (Parts that require more power, inefficient operating system causing system to use more power when it doesn't need too, or a manufacturing defect)
The two phones in the original post have an imbalance due to higher power consumption when comparing the two side by side. Can't say if there is poor coding in their operating system unless I read the code so far now the operating system I can't comment on.
The only way to resolve a bigger battery draining faster is to use more power efficient parts. Problem here is power efficient parts generally cost more because often times they are slightly or substantially harder to produce depending on the product. These phones are budget phones trying to target a specific price bracket.
My guess to their manufacturing process is to grab whatever is most readily available in their budget and use it as a starting point to hopefully reach an end goal of an affordable product. A lot of these "budget" phones from overseas actually use excess stock or discontinued stock from other manufacturers **example** Using Motorola charging boards that got discontinued. If they produced an extra 10,000 charging boards for replacement inventory. Moto stylus.
2 years later that phone becomes outdated. Motorola can either scrap the parts for low return or they can sell the boards to budget phone makers in hopes they can implement them in another project for a higher return on scrap product by making money from people who would be willing to buy them.
Best example not Motorola. If you took the phones apart the (Blackview A60) uses the EXACT SAME charging board as a (DOOGEE X90) part #HCT-W168USB-HC1
^proven fact Blackview and DOOGEE are just using second hand parts.
