The toothbrush method helped a lot. Before, even if I had it on a flat surface and plugged it in, I'd have to move the charger around to find just the right angle, and if I moved my hand away, it would stop charging. Now, the charger stays in the port without me holding it. It'll still come loose if I try to use it, but...progress. At least it's not losing power while it's plugged in anymore. lol
Just applied bit of elbow grease via a virgin Colgate medium bristle brush as per your suggestion. You have relieved my angst and spared me an afternoon of trekking up to Cricket Wireless to have them address the "issue." Big thanks. Also, how strange that manufacturers don't create a little swivel cover for the charging port. Just saying.
Thank you so much! My s20+ woke me up making weird noises (I think it was trying to restart and did the startup vibrate over and over). It was dead. The power button and volume down trick wasn't working and I've got a busy day in the morning so was less than happy... then I tried the toothbrush and everything started working! So relieved

Holy crap you saved my 1 month old S20 FE, I thought it's dead for sure. Died fully at 0% battery then when plugged in it was showing just the lightning icon but not the percentage number, and it didn't take any charge at all. Holding power button didn't reset anything. In your vid I saw the power button + low vol button combo. That actually forced some sort of reset, after which it started up with 1% charge and accepted charge from that point on. I have to say this S20 FE is the worst, buggiest pile of crap phone I ever owned. Every day there's at least one crash or minute-long freeze when I get an SMS and the brightness flickers to max and back when I unlock it or go to photo or return from photo mode. And before this I had an A71 which was absolutely flawless, not one bug or freeze. I can't believe this newer and more expensive S20 FE, with 1+ years of updates since launch, is barely usable. If anyone is reading so far, stay the F away from S20 FE, it's borderline unusable.

Great stuff. In fact I now brush out the charging port every morning while I'm brushing my teeth. I toss a little gob of Crest in the port followed by 2-3 minutes of vigorous brushing (and of course it then goes with me in the shower for a complete rinse). Doing this every morning will surely ward off any future charging issues. Right?

Samsun S20 made updates and right after that I had "slow charging" problem. It take to full charge when unused over 10hrs - phone is only 2 years old. Update fuckup my phone !!! Any one knows how to uninstall this update??? Samsun - shame on you!! I hope people will make legal charges against Samsung as they did to Apple

Question, my s20 ultra had a moisture in port but I know for a fact it did not get wet. So I charged wireless for around an hour the notification went away but now my USB-C headphones don't work and my phone won't fast charge.
I just restarted my Galaxy A50 by holding volume down and power for a few seconds. It still won't charge, but also it went straight to a factory reset without any kind of warning or boot menu. Not sure if that was a consequence of some other failure, but uh... huh. Not sure what else to say. Just. Huh.
Im in absolute shock that this worked. 😳 I was like no way will any of this be able to fix my problem. I keep my phone in a case so clean out nothing can get inside the space where I plug phone in.... sure enough was exactly what. So greatful

I went to System apps and did quick memory clean up, and app clean up. That fixed my problem.

I fixed mine by pushing the 3 buttons simultaneously and within and hour it was charging
