The Mistborn series was my first Sanderson reading experience back in 2013 and I loved them! I've read the trilogy a few times since and just about everything else that Sanderson has written. Tress wasn't great for me, but I will revisit it and hopefully like it more in the future. I didn't dislike it, just had hoped for more, I think. Glad you were able to find some books you loved!
I think I enjoyed Tress because I didn't go in expecting anything. I was a little wary because I love The Princess Bride and just knew nothing could surpass that book. It was definitely better than I expected.
@bookswithheather that makes sense! I've actually never been a fan of Princess Bride (the movie, I've never read the book) so even the fun connections weren't as fun for me. But I can see how it would be more enjoyable for some readers and I did like it, I had just hoped to love it.
