well...i don't think they should have put it higher on the list, but...at the same time i don't want to see it removed, just lowered since it was introduced later on.
The sad thing is of course Big Bird has gradually shown up less and less in recent years with Elmo and Abby getting entire segments of the show to themselves and the number of episodes per year cut down to 26. All shows change over the years but it still sad once you notice your faves have been pushed to the wayside even if you no longer watch the program.

I have been a Sesame Street fan for 28 years and I always will be a fan of this show and it's memorable characters, especially Elmo and Big Bird. They are my favorites.
@@blackstar044 Now, let's be sensible about this. Note, Abby did, practically supplant all other female Muppets on the show upon her introduction, whether for good or bad & Leslie's iconic high-pitched voice and recognizable giggle are adorable, no matter what character she plays (besides Abby, she was sprite Ginger on _Johnny & the Sprites_ and Edi the Zebra on _Jim Henson's Animal Jam_ [made in 2003 before the 2010 online video game]).

Some of the most familiar and popular Muppets are full-bodied characters. Big Bird is the best known example, though his Sesame Street cohorts include Snuffy and his family, Bruno the Trashman, Sam the Robot and Barkley. The Muppet Show played host to Sweetums, Thog, Timmy Monster, The Mutations, Doglion, Behemoth, Fletcher Bird, and Sopwith the Camel. The Gorgs loomed large on Fraggle Rock, while Bear and his friend Ursa star in Bear in the Big Blue House. Later examples include Mopatop on Mopatop's Shop. Various overseas versions of Sesame Street have had their own larger than life stars, including Kippi Ben Kippod, Boombah, Nimnim, and Zeliboba. Feature films brought a new raft of full-bodied characters, including Miss Finch, Mommy Dodo, Daddy Dodo, Marie Dodo and Donnie Dodo from Follow That Bird, and The Ghost of Christmas Present and The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come from The Muppet Christmas Carol.

SA had its own version of Sesame street called Takalani Sesame that I watched as a kid that aired each week in the 11 official SA languages, SA unique main Muppets characters you won't find anywhere else except here are Zikwe, Zuzu, Moshe and Kami.😂❤
I remember when Sesame Street first started in 1969 and so many of the Muppets have changed, either in appearance or they're not there anymore. There was no Elmo, Oscar was even more of a grouch, Harry Monster looked different and Cookie Monster was a bit creepier to me. There was Sam the robot, Little Bird and Big Bird had a smaller head and a goofier voice.
Zoe and Rosita weren't on the list and they were there long before Abby /; but oh well still a great nostalgic list! Especially with Elmo being #2 he's my favorite
More honorable mentions, Prairie Dawn, Betty Lou, Roosevelt Franklin, Mr. Johnson u know the customer who Grover messes up his order, Zoey, and Baby Bear

I am SOOO glad that Ernie and Bert are on the list. I want it sometimes because I enjoy the clever writing, puppet design, unforgettable characters. Plus they are reviving old characters like Gordon, and Stinky, but it's just not the same without Mr. Hooper
Telly is my favorite character because I was obsessed with him playing the tuba, admiring triangles and bouncing on his pogo stick. I even used to imitate Telly as a kid by pretending that a bunch of straws were a tuba and I liked the colors pink and purple because it reminded me of him. I even wanted to play the tuba just like him, but tubas hurt people’s cheeks. Telly never fails to make me laugh and no other character compares to him, in my opinion
La la la la, la la la la Elmo's world. Elmo loves his goldfish, his crayons too, that's Elmo's world! I grew up with Sesame Street, my brother grew up with Elmo's World. Me Noodle was just creepy as hell to me.

Help!
Nostalgia overflow!!
Personally speaking the Yip yip Martians are more entertaining than Elmo ever could be.
YES! Why weren't they on this list?
My favorite line from them was "Com-pu-tor com-pu-tor yip yip yip yip yip."
Zoe and Rosita weren't on the list and they were there long before Abby /; but oh well still a great nostalgic list! Especially with Elmo being #2 he's my favorite
What about Murray and his lamb?
Happy 50th anniversary,
Sesame Street! (1969-2019)🎊🎉🎂
Grover should be way higher on the list. He's Awesome!
Ironically, it often ISN'T a sunny day when Count von Count is around, since he has the power to make it stormy.
I knew Big Bird was going to be the #1 :)
More honorable mentions, Prairie Dawn, Betty Lou, Roosevelt Franklin, Mr. Johnson u know the customer who Grover messes up his order, Zoey, and Baby Bear
7:39 i laughed at that soo hard 😂😂😂

Elmo is Sesame Street's breakout character
big bird is scary man
I am SOOO glad that Ernie and Bert are on the list. I want it sometimes because I enjoy the clever writing, puppet design, unforgettable characters. Plus they are reviving old characters like Gordon, and Stinky, but it's just not the same without Mr. Hooper
Zoe should at least be an honorable mention
And Rosita
Telly is my favorite character because I was obsessed with him playing the tuba, admiring triangles and bouncing on his pogo stick. I even used to imitate Telly as a kid by pretending that a bunch of straws were a tuba and I liked the colors pink and purple because it reminded me of him. I even wanted to play the tuba just like him, but tubas hurt people’s cheeks. Telly never fails to make me laugh and no other character compares to him, in my opinion
Count should've been 1st.
Grover following 2nd
and Elmo in 3rd.
Only ones I cared for in the show lol
This was awesome, WatchMojo 😊
Don't forget Elmo has his own show, "Elmo's World"
La la la la, la la la la Elmo's world. Elmo loves his goldfish, his crayons too, that's Elmo's world! I grew up with Sesame Street, my brother grew up with Elmo's World. Me Noodle was just creepy as hell to me.
I would always ask my mom how to get to Sesame street cuz Sesame street never told us and i would be pissed that i couldnt go. like if this happened to you when you where a kid
I love Elmo when I was a little kid. And I still do.
I am 48. I will always love Elmo. ❤️❤️
Big Bird is a 40 year 6 year old bird. I guess the aging process is slower in bird years.
There are several things wrong with this list:
Number 1: Who the hell is Abby Cadabby?
Number 2: Elmo DOES NOT deserve to be in second place!
Number 3: Grover should be much higher than No. 8!
Number 4: WHERE THE HELL WERE THE YIP-YIP ALIENS??!!!
The Count should have been higher as well.
