  • I thought this would be an easy job. The LP tank sensor wasn't working so a quick replacement and I should be all set...it turns out there were a few wiring problems too. The good news is after working it for a couple days, I now have a working information center with LP level, battery voltage, potable water level, and waste level!
Here is a link to the sensor I use on the LP tank.

What I might also suggest is to get yourself a label maker and place labels on all of the wiring, etc for future reference. Just a thought...Thanks for your videos.

Thanks for the comment! I've used a label maker for some things like my storage bins and circuit breakers but I haven't done any wire labeling. It's a good idea for the future.

Thanks for this video…I’m surprised it’s so easy to change out the sensor. I’m in the process of trying to decide weather to repair and keep the original propane storage tank or change it out for dual twenty pound tanks. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the question! I have seen some people do that swap. I don't have any great technical knowledge on the topic but I'll give my opinion. :-) I like the original tank because it fits the space so well and it's large, I think mine is somewhere around 60 pounds of LP. If it's maintained and and repaired when needed, I think it should last a very long time and overall, I like the stock look of the original tank.

Interesting. We haven't used a lot of propane yet but I guess I'll see if I have any problems getting the tank filled.

@Fred brandon Thanks for the comments / ideas. Connecting additional tanks and refilling 1lb canisters is a great idea. My plan to refurbish the original tank would be to remove it from the coach sand and paint, then replace the sensor and upgrade the valve. I read somewhere that one could put two twenty pound tanks in that compartment with some room to spare, I haven’t checked the possibility yet.

@@MrGMCMotorhome I like the original tank also and you are right it certainly would last and does fit that space nicely. I also feel it might be awkward to change out the 20lb tanks when they need filling.
