So sorry for the loss of your dad with lung cancer. My dad was 53 years old when he passed away with lung cancer. It’s been 37 years, but what makes it harder is that he passed away on my mom’s birthday.

Wow, this was such a cool video, so much “free” money left in those units. You guys are great to watch, such a loving bond between father and son. Thank you for sharing.
When my dad moved he said cash in the cans. The cans were old top cigarette cans that were full of change. Got a little over a grand with that haul. Great video keep it up.
I once had a huge can of quarters and dimes I had saved for years, in my closet, well anyway I let this creep stay in my apt for a few weeks I felt bad because his wife threw him out so I did a kind act, well anyway I eventually had to throw him out because I figured out he was never gonna leave and honestly I did not trust the creep, object of the story is, months later I went to cash my coins in and realized that he stole the change and filled the can with pennies under the top layer of quarters, SHAME OM ME FOR BEING A NICE GUY
Catching up on old videos - first saw you on your unboxing challenge with What the Hales! As many have said - you likely had a very good number of valuable coins - but - a thousand dollars is good for your next unit!
Those are some pretty trucks ! Love the red truck the most . That was great seeing how much you made from the coins . I have really enjoyed watching your videos . So it would be fun hearing how you started and what you did before .
Thank you!! We started with yard sales. building our eBay store and then going to estate sales. My dad eventually got the idea to do storage units when he seen the hales on TH-cam. our videos also show our progression over time :)
If you want to guesstimate how much money you have, a box of quarters ($500) weighs 25lbs. When I worked as a teller, my coworkers would tease me about weighing less than $2,000 in quarters.
Did this a few weeks ago with a 55 oz m and m container that I had been filling up for a few years. Side note, coin star waives the fee (it is like 12% for cash) if you convert it into an e gift card. There are only about 10 - 15 choices but they are pretty decent. got myself like $260 and bought a Nintendo Switch.
Hope you went thru all of the coins (quarters and dimes) and identified the silver coins (pre 1965) before using coinstar, also with coinstar you can get credits at resturants with no 10-15% taken by the store, so hope you do this.
I believe that when your dojng good in life you share it with others. Like the coins you counted maybe someone out there found one of the coins that was more than its worth and they needed the money now thats actually paying it forward.
I would enjoy breakdowns of the costs and income associated with a unit, including things like unit rent, dump fees, TH-cam income, etc. Also interested in things like your storage and inventory systems. Thanks!
You should buy yourself a small Gold coin, and then spend the rest on a storage unit. I just turned in $600.13 of my own saved change, and most of it went into Gold and Silver.
Nice coin lot fantastic congratulations to you both on your coin bonus can't wait to see your next fantabulous big payout on Yr next storage unit fantastic score
Son is well spoken and mannered for being so young. How much did you pay in fees to cash them in? You'd think the bags would hold more than that that they wouldn't have to be emptied twice. I think the containers looked larger on camera cause comparing it to other videos I've seen I thought you'd have a lot more.
It is not 15 pounds of coins. You need to deduct the weight of the jar, bucket, etc. Since the weight is unknown, I would say that the jars weigh approx 6 ounces, the Cracker Jack tin weighs approx. 10 oz. and the penny bucket weighs approx 14 oz.
I love all your videos. Id love to see a live stream or any other video you will put out. Would you ever consider having one of your suscribers doing a unit clean out? Asking for a friend😊😀
I appreciate it a lot :) We are not ready for the livestreams just yet but are looking forward to them. as for cleaning out units with subscribers I think timing would be a big issue. many times when we get a unit it will be at a complete random time of day & we have to stop what we are doing and focus on the unit which we have a small window of time to cleanout. But definitely a possibility in the future :)
Start with a live stream to see how it goes, if you schedule it and put out the word you will have more viewers. Make sure you get moderators, schedule one then decide on frequency. Do it when you would have the best viewership. keep the time limited to begin with and then follow what people want. I won't say follow Geremy or Jorge but you know what I mean. I wish the best for you and your endeavors. Like watching the great interaction your family has. These are just suggestions and you can do what ever you want with your channel. I am a fan and wish the best for you.

by my estimation, you lost about $130 in fees turning in the coins that way as they charge about 12.5%. Now if you had gone to your regular bank, chances are there would have been no charge. You might have had to approach them first about all the coins you had, but you could arrange to drop them off and they would have counted them as they had time and then credited your account. I do agree with the others though as you should have gone thru them and looked for any 'special' coins and taken those to a coin dealer. Those golden dollars a coin dealer might want, you might have gotten $125 or more instead of the $112 you got for them. Very cool though for just a years effort.
I hope you made sure to look for and keep aside silver dimes/quarters (1964 or earlier) as well as look for wheat pennies, buffalo nickels, or even WWII nickels (35% silver)
I'm digging that Chevy! Nice job, how are the bags working out for you? Any noticeable difference when pulling heavier loads? I've added 1 additional spring in rear end (+800lbs) & upgraded struts to billstein 5100's, I just haven't pulled the trigger on the air bag setup yet
Love the air bags. They definitely make a difference for us. Keeping the trailer straight with the truck helps the trailer not fishtail and puts less strain on the engine. Since the video we have added roll bars and a tire mount in the bed of the truck :)
All the guys talking about Silver coins being in there. Its been almost 25 years since I last got a silver quarter out in the wild in change, and I get change every day. The chance of them missing out on a bunch is slim to none.
