I just can't see full justification the $120K price difference. A Mountain Aire seems very close in overall feel. Subtlety is expensive apparently. I agree with another comment, just buy a few years old Prevost or Newell.
Andrew another nice job, these Coach's are nice but I'm not sure for the money you would be better off getting a used Newell or Prevost. Then might look real hard at the Foretravel. Just a thought
If I could afford a new London Aire or an Essex, I'd definitely be purchasing a used Newell or Prevost platform! However, I do appreciate the comparison of two similar coaches from the naked eye.
Man Andrew nobody steps up to the plate and hits it out of the park like you do. Fantastic comparison, you mentioned a lot of differences that would otherwise go unnoticed or not mentioned. These comparison videos are next level, one of a kind and nobody else is doing it.

At the end of the day…your paying $120k more for small and suttle differences throughout the coach…items that are standard to options…I think these coaches are too close in price point..like previous comment…maybe a nice lightly used prevost or Newell would be in the works…Great video Andrew…👍
Great tour Andrew. Just a small thing but if they are making designed to put a C-pap machine, why can’t they just add an outlet in the cabinet too, to make for a cleaner look instead of having to run the wire to another outlet down below.
Andrew, a question, did you ever get a replacement of your coach after the fire and what did you get? One thing that just frosts my hide is some of these coaches that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and they have the same design on the cabinet doors as the doors on a 50K camp trailer. I really like the flat cabinet doors on the King Aire but this Essex is very nice in side. the deal breaker for me is no dish washer in the Essex
When I see reviews of these big Newmars I always think about the Newell owner who had bought a brand new King Air that left him stuck on the side of the road on the way home from the factory. And how poor his ownership experience was.
@@bryandoan6235 in my view the quality of a Newell or a Liberty Coach for example is light years ahead of any production coach. Sadly my view is that on a lot of Newmars quality isn’t significantly better than what you find in mid level towable RVs. Yes the cabinets are a better grade and yes much of the equipment is higher grade stuff but the build quality and attention to detail is about the same because both build teams (Newmar and say a company like Jayco) are more focused on speed than quality. The other big issue with any production coach is that now you get sucked into the never ending war between the chassis builder (like Frieghtliner or Spartan) and the house builder over who owns an issue when it touches the integration of the two.

Those coach are great nothing compare to a Prevost, but for people looking for older prevost maintenance will be a lot more than a brand new newmar, but Newmar’s will break but covered under the first year warranty but then they don’t retain value after 3 years they drop 300 000 in value, at the dealership always negotiate up to 30% of sticker price
At that price point the badge of a Prevost or Newell not to mention the quality, is a massive selling point. Maintenance is a big thing but you don’t spend $1 million on a bus if you can afford to look after it.
I do think it's funny, the large windows for the stunning view...im kinda doubtful anyone in am Essex is boondocking. So you get to look at the rv right next to you. I have an allegro open road 36la. I do boondock and buy far...im the biggest and nicer rv off grid in my neck nof the woods here in oregon.
How about the inside of the pantry..... he talks about fit and finish, yet you see the horrible way the drawers are attached. Pieces of wood that don't even go all the way up and unfinished @4:10 and at 22:20. At these price points, one would assume that fit and finish would be a bit better. What do you think it would add to the build price, about $1. If they are cutting corners there, where else is it happening?
Yes, agree. I think the biggest difference in these and the DS are the HP, K3 chassis and 12.5KW generator. Those seem to be the big ticket items. I sure would like to test drive one to evaluate the difference in the chassis and engine.

Come on Newmar, coachs in this price range should all have lithium battery's STANDARD. They now are cheaper than lead acid or agm batterys, WHY so you still use them. And Essex using $10. brake lights. At least you can replace them from a discount auto store I guess. Don't get me going on those flanges on the slides, really Newmar, Country Coach 25 years ago figured out how to do a slide with minimal to no flange. Beautiful coach’s, just not a fan of the high gloss cabinets and trim.
I really like the layout of the Essex, not sure about those colors of the seating. That's not the best blues I've seen.

I feel like Newmar is the closest thing we have today to the old Country Coach and Beavers in terms of the quality.
It’s all marketing. In the used market one will never get a $120,000 more for one over the other. It’s today’s economy tough times have just started.
