I really don't see zhoa li ying get attacked that much. She's alot older then alot of younger actresses, so she did not face the wrath of social media Iike now. I like her acting.

They attacked her on her appearance saying she was not attractive enough, too skinny, too "rural" and plain looking. She wasn't rich and didn't know anyone in the industry. She came from a small village of farmers, so they made fun of and attacked her on her humble, un-sophisticated background. They attacked her on her speech, education, and vocabulary. They were really brutal to her.
I am currently watching Guardians of the Dafeng and Storm of Roses and i love both dramas!! Liu Yijun plays in both of them and his acting is perfect! He is one of my favorite actors! I can't wait for The legend of the Female General! Zhao Liying is one of the most hardworking actresses and she deserves more awards! She is my favorite actress!❤

Thanks for another update, Marcus! I'm currently having an awesome time with Dylan Wang's new drama "Guardians of Dafeng." I'm up to episode 18 and looking forward to watching more. Dylan Wang is absolutely amazing to watch. I think it is harder to make people laugh than cry. I wouldn't recommend anyone watching this drama while eating or drinking. You're more likely to gag, spit, or choke on your food and drinks because of laughing. 😂😂😂😂...I only wish Tencent would release more episodes daily.

Great to see Dafeng topping the charts.... It's been very entertaining so far. Stories highlighting the safety issues in the industry make me worry about the physical and emotional wellbeing of these talented young people... 😢 Hopefully more attention will be given to safety and health.
After few dramas with open and sad the end, except Blossom, finally Guardians of the Dafeng, it's a comedy on surface but later mixed with deeper plot. Dylan Wang in his best obviously enjoying himself 😂, as director told him: listen Dylan whatever you couldn't do in your previous costume dramas DO IT NOW, and he is waiving his ponytail as a mad mare😂🤩. If other cast isn't so great, he'll be running through this drama as one man show. This is already one of my favourite dramas this year 🔝. Simply unforgettable, entertainig, well written, interesting characters

I’m on episode 13 and so far, the FL has yet to show a single redeeming quality. It would have taken a few minutes at most to show her doing something kind or selfless as an introduction but the writers apparently decided that the being the female lead was enough character. But audiences need a reason to like a character, not just this: “Here’s your female lead, you must like her because she’s the female lead”
Cant say I like the female lead character much not keen on deceptive females with immature baby cuteness and the male lead is too over the top arrogant smarty pants.The rest of the cast is good and the story line interesting enough for now.I preferred Riverside code at Qingming and hope there is s sequel to it.

Guardians of the Dafeng is great. It's about the main character's growth from a nobody to to a great fighter and guardian. It's very light and entertaining in first third but has touching moments. It gets much more serious as the story unfolds. The plot is intricate. If you just start watching, rest assured, all the cases, mysterious things and characters are necessary for the plot. The chacters are interesting and refreshing.

Same, I liked it too. Despite his being typecast as uniform and muscle man 💪 (did not see enough of those there!) Huang Jingyu and the very pretty Sun Qian had a good pairing there and I liked the thrills of the hunt for the serial murderer. Johnny can sing too and has a nice OST song in Dongzhi (Winter Solstce is the original title and appropriate day it was aired). Besides I have a favorable bias for Johnny after The First Shot, the drugs gang busting drama aired in the fall of 2024, which I liked a lot also. He did not sing there, but he modestly says he is not a pro singer (he could be if he set his mind to it, his voice is very good), so we seldom see him sing for dramas or elsewhere. There is a song (Youth) which he sang years ago together with pro singers where he stood his ground nicely. In fact his first appearance singing on stage was with a famous singer at the time of Addicted Heroin his ground breaking (and sulfurous) first drama since he portrayed a gay youth, not a drug user. He is viewed by many in this light since, as if he couldn't act in a conventional romance, although he did exactly that in a drama srarring together with Dilraba. But he has played so many 👮 uniform roles as soldier, police, and such, that some only expect to see male camaraderie on screen from him. Although LSIW is more a police thriller than a sizzle romance, it is rather satisfying there too. No wonder it stayed on top in viewings for a while ! 😁😻

Considering ZL's situation. About how much demands they put on his life. If he has a girlfriend. I'm happy for him. Even celebrities needs someone to be close too. Everybody knows that Chen Zheyuan❤️❤️🤗😂 is not really a singer, since he joked from the start when he got into the debut "boys band" that he was there "to look handsome". And he is, stellarly so. But he is near tone deaf and needs technical help to deliver simple songs for OST such as with Shen Yue in Mr Bad. He does like to sing... under the shower or with friends in karaoke who tolerate his good natured going along with them. He has favorite songs and dances that come out hilarious such as in his first audition when the judge gave him a pass, laughing her head off after his comedic take on dancing Growl (the Exo choreography) an singing a famous Eason Chan song (Hao Jiu Bu jian). She ommented that his looks might get him somewhere. He does light up the dramas and movies and shows he performs in, is a good fashion model, and has an infectious smile and twinkle in eyes. But even performing a Twinkle Star song in the past for an event presented a great challenge to him and he was not shy to let a BTS be aired of his rather funny and painful attempts at getting it right. He definitely is not a real singer, despite he does like music and accepts challenges, so listening (or mostly watching him)"sing" is totally fun and tolerable, because he is sweet. Some encourage him to get tutored in singing because his voice is not displeasing, it is just that he has a sort of "pitch" blindness and fumbles with notes. If is asked to do a performance, he will look great on stage and a recording of his best attempts is not something that should be frowned upon. He is the exception to lipsincing that can be accepted in my view 😅 From him it is not cheating, it is accepting to please public with his best efforts, knowing that on scene he couldn't do as in studio. I don't know why he is asked to sing in public or OST: perhaps because he looks good when he does so and the technical rework of his voice and attempts are pleasing. In Hidden Love there was a scene in a karaoke room where he should have sung the Falling into a sea of Love song (his favorite for years before and after the fateful audition, original from Oh My Emperor, initially sung by Zhao Lusi, but despite being urged several times by his co star there, he shied away. He likes to listen to it but doesn't want to clown that special to him song... He is a very nice person who does his best in his work and has had great pep talks for young people in university too, very humble about his models for acting too. No-one should get angry at him. Anyway even great singing stars have at times resorted to lip sincing, so why diss him from singing? Perhaps it would be more honest from venue to warn that this is his "best attempt" and the sound will be nice but looks will be what is most genuine. Those who followed CZY will not even comment but laugh at his blatant disclosure of lip sincing to spare the ears of public from his sounding like a duck there! 🤣🤣🤣🤗 Looking forward to his next dramas, the serious The White Olive Tree and the sweet costume romance next.

Were the awards there rigged ? (YSX got 3, to boot) Ren Min is still very green and robotic; not at all same level as the other three who already have quite some experience over the past years. His breakthrough dates back to other dramas where he appeared as ML, even in 2020-2021 more than his roles in 2024 esp in The First Shot (where he played well except when he was delivering phrases in "Cantonese" : he should have been dubbed and should have lip sinced for that 😜) Li Yunrui, well he could deservedly have got breakthrough too! he was noticed as promising actor from LLTG, with fans of his awaiting for the ML role he got in 2024. ok for the other awards, but all this looks like kindergarten end of year performance where everyone or almost haul some prize home to please parents.

ACTIVELY FORCED lipsinc in China? 😳It is supposedly banned.... But that ban is a China quirk since many other countries have no problem with doing it in live performances, esp if the show is lengthy and taxes voice of singer too much. Many big name signers around the world have lip sinced at times. If it spares the ears of public from jarring tones, why not? Myself, I don't mind it too much, when the artist is physically live on stage, and especially when the show is extremely long, or it is an appearance from an artist who is notoriously not a pro singer or someone recovering/still suffering from something (cold, covid...) but pushing himself to please those who reserved the night to see him.

We expect a lot too much of these young people. How many of us have tried to sing, even something simple, (much less lip-sincing, which demands work too) while doing complex dance routines... on stairs... with someone else... probably without much rehearsal time ? When the song was recorded by the person lip-sincing it, and when he/she is expected to perform at the same time, I really have no problem with it...

As for "The Legend of Shen Li", I am still hooked on that spectacular drama. It's one of my fave costume dramas of all time. The amazing acting, directing, production, the beautiful OSTs and of course the chemistry between Zhao Liying and Lin Geng Xin was incredible and made that one of the power costume dramas of last year. All of us are waiting for her next drama anxiously. Plus, I like her frame of mind. I am so binging on "Love Song in Winter"!! (Ep 16 since last night, with a long break in between today) It's a mixture of romance and crime/thriller/action. It's ins and outs and not knowing what's happening next or who is who or what is what, keeps you at the edge of your seat. The chemistry between tough guy Johnny Huang and Sun Qian is sooo good and adds a spark to the romance part. I notice Johnny Huang likes the rough and tumble action guy persona in his dramas and he fits it very well. I'm also enjoying "Begin Again". I like the different characters and their back stories in the beautiful city of Macau. The nighttime visuals are stunning. Also, Elaine Zhong is so beautiful and her and Elvis Han have quite the hot chemistry going. The 2nd Supports are great to watch as well, although not as hot. ha I can't wait to watch "Guardians of the Dafeng". I will always love Dylan Wang. Dating rumors are different from delusional shippers' theories. Both are harmful, but acknowledging shippers' theories with an official statement could have an opposite effect and just give them more visibility, not to mention that Wang Yibo got mass attacked and cyberbullied by shippers several times even after removing The Untamed from his Weibo bio. Unlike regular dating rumors, shipping isn't being treated seriously by netizens. Yuehua also addressed all dating rumors already in 2019 stating 'Wang Yibo is single'. Wang Yibo himself also said that it's impossible for cp to be real, so it got denied years ago already but shippers kept twisting his words and didn't want to listen. Shippers are like that, they will ship even if stars get married to other partners 🤷

Happy for LOFG, it’s on my watchlist. Yay for TIO2; I wonder how long it’ll take for them to film. We will probably only see it in 2026. I’ve seen plenty of their shows where a lot of their stars lip sync and it’s very obvious. I actually watched his performance, I noticed that, but I brushed it off as nerves because I believe this was one of if not his first large stage performances. Though I’m not a fan of lip syncing when it’s done regularly in a country that supposedly bans it, I don’t pay attention. Besides you know when actual singers sing. It’s one thing when people who vehemently argue that they are singers and they lip sync all the time is annoying and eye roll worthy. It’s a different thing when you have an actor that doesn’t sing and performs and is nervous. I call that a mistake. ZLY is pretty good and I like her attitude. Exactly, I agree. If you’re able to do something, go for it! Good for Guardians! It’s a good show!

It would have taken a few minutes at most to show her doing something kind or selfless as an introduction but the writers apparently decided that the being the female lead was enough character.
But audiences need a reason to like a character, not just this: “Here’s your female lead, you must like her because she’s the female lead”
Cant say I like the female lead character much not keen on deceptive females with immature baby cuteness and the male lead is too over the top arrogant smarty pants.The rest of the cast is good and the story line interesting enough for now.I preferred Riverside code at Qingming and hope there is s sequel to it.
Since not everyone has the talent to sing, then actors shouldn't be forced to sing even when they don't want to.

Guardians of the Dafeng is great. It's about the main character's growth from a nobody to to a great fighter and guardian. It's very light and entertaining in first third but has touching moments. It gets much more serious as the story unfolds. The plot is intricate. If you just start watching, rest assured, all the cases, mysterious things and characters are necessary for the plot. The chacters are interesting and refreshing.

Despite his being typecast as uniform and muscle man 💪 (did not see enough of those there!) Huang Jingyu and the very pretty Sun Qian had a good pairing there and I liked the thrills of the hunt for the serial murderer. Johnny can sing too and has a nice OST song in Dongzhi (Winter Solstce is the original title and appropriate day it was aired).
Besides I have a favorable bias for Johnny after The First Shot, the drugs gang busting drama aired in the fall of 2024, which I liked a lot also. He did not sing there, but he modestly says he is not a pro singer (he could be if he set his mind to it, his voice is very good), so we seldom see him sing for dramas or elsewhere. There is a song (Youth) which he sang years ago together with pro singers where he stood his ground nicely. In fact his first appearance singing on stage was with a famous singer at the time of Addicted Heroin his ground breaking (and sulfurous) first drama since he portrayed a gay youth, not a drug user. He is viewed by many in this light since, as if he couldn't act in a conventional romance, although he did exactly that in a drama srarring together with Dilraba.
But he has played so many 👮 uniform roles as soldier, police, and such, that some only expect to see male camaraderie on screen from him.
Although LSIW is more a police thriller than a sizzle romance, it is rather satisfying there too. No wonder it stayed on top in viewings for a while ! 😁😻

Everybody knows that Chen Zheyuan❤️❤️🤗😂 is not really a singer, since he joked from the start when he got into the debut "boys band" that he was there "to look handsome". And he is, stellarly so.
But he is near tone deaf and needs technical help to deliver simple songs for OST such as with Shen Yue in Mr Bad.
He does like to sing... under the shower or with friends in karaoke who tolerate his good natured going along with them.
He has favorite songs and dances that come out hilarious such as in his first audition when the judge gave him a pass, laughing her head off after his comedic take on dancing Growl (the Exo choreography) an singing a famous Eason Chan song (Hao Jiu Bu jian).
She ommented that his looks might get him somewhere. He does light up the dramas and movies and shows he performs in, is a good fashion model, and has an infectious smile and twinkle in eyes.
But even performing a Twinkle Star song in the past for an event presented a great challenge to him and he was not shy to let a BTS be aired of his rather funny and painful attempts at getting it right. He definitely is not a real singer, despite he does like music and accepts challenges, so listening (or mostly watching him)"sing" is totally fun and tolerable, because he is sweet.
Some encourage him to get tutored in singing because his voice is not displeasing, it is just that he has a sort of "pitch" blindness and fumbles with notes. If is asked to do a performance, he will look great on stage and a recording of his best attempts is not something that should be frowned upon.
He is the exception to lipsincing that can be accepted in my view 😅
From him it is not cheating, it is accepting to please public with his best efforts, knowing that on scene he couldn't do as in studio.
I don't know why he is asked to sing in public or OST: perhaps because he looks good when he does so and the technical rework of his voice and attempts are pleasing.
In Hidden Love there was a scene in a karaoke room where he should have sung the Falling into a sea of Love song (his favorite for years before and after the fateful audition, original from Oh My Emperor, initially sung by Zhao Lusi, but despite being urged several times by his co star there, he shied away. He likes to listen to it but doesn't want to clown that special to him song...
He is a very nice person who does his best in his work and has had great pep talks for young people in university too, very humble about his models for acting too. No-one should get angry at him.
Anyway even great singing stars have at times resorted to lip sincing, so why diss him from singing? Perhaps it would be more honest from venue to warn that this is his "best attempt" and the sound will be nice but looks will be what is most genuine. Those who followed CZY will not even comment but laugh at his blatant disclosure of lip sincing to spare the ears of public from his sounding like a duck there! 🤣🤣🤣🤗

Ren Min is still very green and robotic; not at all same level as the other three who already have quite some experience over the past years. Wang Ziqi? His breakthrough dates back to other dramas where he appeared as ML, even in 2020-2021 more than his roles in 2024 esp in The First Shot (where he played well except when he was delivering phrases in "Cantonese" : he should have been dubbed and should have lip sinced for that 😜)
Li Yunrui, well he could deservedly have got breakthrough too! he was noticed as promising actor from LLTG, with fans of his awaiting for the ML role he got in 2024.

I never understood why the entertainment industry in mainland China actively forced lipsync in "live" performance.
ACTIVELY FORCED lipsinc in China? 😳It is supposedly banned....
But that ban is a China quirk since many other countries have no problem with doing it in live performances, esp if the show is lengthy and taxes voice of singer too much. Many big name signers around the world have lip sinced at times. If it spares the ears of public from jarring tones, why not?
Myself, I don't mind it too much, when the artist is physically live on stage, and especially when the show is extremely long, or it is an appearance from an artist who is notoriously not a pro singer or someone recovering/still suffering from something (cold, covid...) but pushing himself to please those who reserved the night to see him.

Some experts have been outing famous singers lately here on TH-cam, busting them with supposed Live performances only to prove they are lip-syncing. And while it's not illegal and/or banned here in the states, the fact they've been exposed speaks volumes and doesn't make their fans too thrilled.
As for "The Legend of Shen Li", I am still hooked on that spectacular drama. It's one of my fave costume dramas of all time. The amazing acting, directing, production, the beautiful OSTs and of course the chemistry between Zhao Liying and Lin Geng Xin was incredible and made that one of the power costume dramas of last year. All of us are waiting for her next drama anxiously. Plus, I like her frame of mind.
I am so binging on "Love Song in Winter"!! (Ep 16 since last night, with a long break in between today) It's a mixture of romance and crime/thriller/action. It's ins and outs and not knowing what's happening next or who is who or what is what, keeps you at the edge of your seat. The chemistry between tough guy Johnny Huang and Sun Qian is sooo good and adds a spark to the romance part. I notice Johnny Huang likes the rough and tumble action guy persona in his dramas and he fits it very well. I'm also enjoying "Begin Again". I like the different characters and their back stories in the beautiful city of Macau. The nighttime visuals are stunning. Also, Elaine Zhong is so beautiful and her and Elvis Han have quite the hot chemistry going. The 2nd Supports are great to watch as well, although not as hot. ha
I can't wait to watch "Guardians of the Dafeng". I will always love Dylan Wang.

Dating rumors are different from delusional shippers' theories. Both are harmful, but acknowledging shippers' theories with an official statement could have an opposite effect and just give them more visibility, not to mention that Wang Yibo got mass attacked and cyberbullied by shippers several times even after removing The Untamed from his Weibo bio. Unlike regular dating rumors, shipping isn't being treated seriously by netizens. Yuehua also addressed all dating rumors already in 2019 stating 'Wang Yibo is single'. Wang Yibo himself also said that it's impossible for cp to be real, so it got denied years ago already but shippers kept twisting his words and didn't want to listen. Shippers are like that, they will ship even if stars get married to other partners 🤷

Happy for LOFG, it’s on my watchlist. Yay for TIO2; I wonder how long it’ll take for them to film. We will probably only see it in 2026. I’ve seen plenty of their shows where a lot of their stars lip sync and it’s very obvious. I actually watched his performance, I noticed that, but I brushed it off as nerves because I believe this was one of if not his first large stage performances. Though I’m not a fan of lip syncing when it’s done regularly in a country that supposedly bans it, I don’t pay attention. Besides you know when actual singers sing. It’s one thing when people who vehemently argue that they are singers and they lip sync all the time is annoying and eye roll worthy. It’s a different thing when you have an actor that doesn’t sing and performs and is nervous. I call that a mistake.
ZLY is pretty good and I like her attitude. Exactly, I agree. If you’re able to do something, go for it!
