  • It took 30 years of experience and working alongside the top Ph.D. chemists in the world to make C6 Ceramics a possibility and create unparalleled Gloss or Hydrophobics for a duration deemed Permanent. That was our Goal, and C6 is our achievement. Utilizing state-of-the-art technologies, we have developed what I think is the best ceramic coating in today’s market.

    Awesome information. This explains why not to use the rotary to apply the app like you said! Keep up the excellent education!

    Would Ryobi DA polisher 18v cordless model work to apply the APP? I think it's an 8mm throw, thanks!

    Great information as always. If using a 6" 5mm Random Orbital Sander with speeds from 4k -10k rpm, what speed is best for the application of APP? Also, another detail I couldn't find in your videos is the number of passes when applying APP; is one pass sufficient or are we generally looking for a number of passes that thin the product out to an easy wipe-off haze (using the recommended 1-2 drops per application)?

      With a 5mm stroke 6-7000 OPM is good. One or 2 passes is sufficient

    Is the APP a better prep for longevity and ease of use for the 8 year DIY coating, rather than using a panel prep?

    So, if you use a lokg throw da to do the bulk of the paint enhancement, will the 3mm sander combined with the APP generally get rid of the bulk of the DA haze? In one vid Yvan went DA to sander, when he did Pan's new Porsche I believe he went FA-rotary-sander. Was that just to get the ultra gloss or will that be a common procedure?

    • @C6ceramics
      @C6ceramics  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It was to get the most gloss. DA to APP is the normal SOP

    Good day, I wonder can you use it by hand, even if you have to leave it for 15-30 minutes for it to work?

      It’s best by machine, yes it can be used by hand but it will take a long time.

    Hi Yvan, pro detailer here. We are certified installers for SystemX and also offer Carpro and Gyeon coatings to our clients. Would like to add C6 to our lineup as well. You have any plans of expanding the certification process to India? New Delhi specifically. Thanks.

    Can the app be used a refining step, like in a 2 step? Or would I still need a 2 step and then the App step after?

      I would not rely on it for "correction". But I have been able to finish out very light holograms with APP.

      The first time I used APP with the red rotary jeweling pad on a 15mm DA was able to correct some defects, including shallow water spots. That was with 3 slow passes (too much). I didn't think the APP was hard to wipe off, I've had ceramic coatings much harder to level. That was more of a test than anything, moving forward I use a palm sander and 2 passes not expecting much correction.

    I noticed in some of your videos you mention you have to remove the brake on the sander. I have the Dewalt DCW210, cordless and brushless. It doesn't appear that there's a removable break on it. Can I still use it?

    • @C6ceramics
      @C6ceramics  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If the pad free spins, yes. If the pad doesn’t free spin, remove the backing plate, behind it will be either a belt or plastic ring that prevents it from free spinning.

    • @abrunet85
      @abrunet85 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@C6ceramics Thanks for the quick reply. I removed the belt but it still stops spinning rather quickly. ETA- I removed the dust shroud also and it now moves freely.

      @@user-tg3gv6ty9vIt's all new to me. My order of C6 Lite is arriving this week. I sent @c6ceramics an email with a clip of the DeWalt without a belt on, to see if the movement was good enough. Just waiting to hear back. In the meantime I picked up the same corded Bauer one they use, to compare the movement. The Bauer seems very similar to the DeWalt without the belt. I'd rather have a cordless, so I'm leaning towards the DeWalt. Just waiting for clarification from @C6ceramics

      @@user-tg3gv6ty9v Sorry, I thought I responded to you the other day. I was coming back today to say that the DCW210 should be good. I came across one of DIY Detail's videos showing how to remove the brake. In that video he removed what I call the dust shroud. Removing that and the little clear belt keeps it free moving. 👍

    Hold Up. Whats the formula for this? A Milwaukee 15mm DA for example is 2400rpm on the low side. Does this mean you could apply APP with the DA?

    • @ryanl8653
      @ryanl8653 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It would be hard to maintain pad rotation with a 15mm that slow.

    • @adamsdetails
      @adamsdetails 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      A 15mm is not recommended. Some have already tested this and it makes for a difficult wipe off.

    • @C6ceramics
      @C6ceramics  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That gives you 2m/s so technically yes, but those who have tried were not impressed.

    Okay I have been looking for a corded palm sander with a 3mm orbit but have not had any luck. Went to Harbor Freight and found the cordless 20V 5 inch Bauer that does say 3mm orbit but not for a corded. found a corded with a 3/32 orbit but that doesn't match what you said in the video.
