The mother's outfit looks cute on her, but I also kept thinking, she must be so cold, LOL! Kudos to her for being quick enough to catch the iced latte before it spilled. That surely would've been an ugly and wet disaster. This video made me so happy watching it and also very hungry!
How do you all keep so slim and in shape??? LOL. I gain weight just watching you eat. Actually, starting my day, each day, with your family makes me smile, and it's such a good way to start the day. Thank you.
Nice to see you aren’t eating more fast food. Places like this and mom and pop restaurants will always have higher quality and more unique food. Fun to watch and made me hungry.
As a long time New York diner and deli breakfast cook, the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had were at a place where we cubed the potatoes, then cooked them most of the way through with finely diced red and green bell peppers, onions, olive oil, salt, pepper and a LOT of Spanish paprika. Then once everything was pretty cooked we would mix them all together in a giant bowl to make sure every piece of potato was coated in all those amazing flavors and then put them in a large covered bin to marinate and soak in all that flavor overnight in the refrigerator. the next day we would just cook them to order on the flat top grill and they were out of this world amazing.
Always get a smile watching your family. Thank you for sharing your joy and love. Not everyone gets to experience being a member of a family in this sense.
Such a beautiful family... your kids are so good at this. Showing stuff to the cameras... the little girl is a star in the marking and the young man isn't far behind. Hope you enjoyed your time in our country.
I don't think that's true, Nadine....we drink coffee a million different ways! Whether you call them pancakes, hotcakes or griddlecakes depends a lot on what part of the country you're from. With those potatoes in that last dish, my guess is that they par-boil them in a seasoned water for that "Marinated" flavor, and then deep fry or pan fry them to finish.
Yeah, I thought that was strange when she said that. The only people I know who take their coffee black are people in the military/veterans. My dad was in the navy and said that he learned to drink black coffee because the creamer wasn’t good. Though, I’m sure it may have been improved since when he served.
I've been drinking my coffee black since I was around 8 years old. I wanted to be more grown up, I suppose. At first I stopped putting sugar in it, than a month or so later I quit adding cream. (Not creamer, actual cream.) Never regretted it. I've since learned that there are "restaurant blends" of different brands of coffees that aren't available in stores. Far better than what we can get in grocery stores. My favorite coffee brands to drink at home are JFG and Maxwell House. But, whatever someone likes best is fine by me--I'm not a coffee snob. --Dan
Great video. My favorite diner meal is an open face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and lots of gravy. Many years ago I was traveling through Ontario, Canada and stopped in a diner and ordered hot roast beef sandwich, served with French fries and lots of gravy. It was definitely a slice of food heaven. French fries and gravy my ultimate favorite. Have a wonderful day.

My roommate in my 20s went and study abroad in New Zealand and loved it. My sister also got to go and went skydiving over there and loved it. Beautiful Country.
24 hour greek diners were a staple of my childhood/teen years. Historically each immigrant group in NY would usually specialize in a specific business/field and the Greeks were/are BIG in diners. they’re unfortunately beginning to go the way of the dinosaur post covid, but growing up after goin out really late at night after drinking with friends in the city a 24/7 diner was ALWAYS the move if not dollar pizza. I’m glad you all did your due diligence got the true experience. If you ever come back, you should try getting out to Queens and Brooklyn it has a lot more of the old school NY vibe relative to Manhattan and the food is some of the best in the city.
Diners are the best, when you want to feel like you just stopped over at your favorite old aunt's house, and she cooked something for you to eat (and she was the best cook)! Diners serve you that good old home cooking.
When I moved tto the USA from EnZed, the first diner I ever went to was the Highland Park Diner in Rochester, NY. It is my favorite diner to this day. So much fun watching you experience the same feelings that I did. Arohanui from Lowgap, NC
And….Mom does what moms do! She saves her child from disaster! What amazes me is just how effortlessly she did it…grabbed that glass like it was something she does on the daily.
You just can't beat hash browned potatoes and short ribs. But I have to admit, huevos rancheros comes close. I love that they had a great time trying real diner food!
It is such a beautiful thing how you and your family get together and enjoy life. My family is Panamanian but I grew up in Florida. If y'all get a chance try Panamanian food.
I spent 6 months living in a tent in the jungles of Panama. But I had the privilege of eating Panamanian quicine. And i must say, it is the best food on the planet!
We have an amazing diner here in Tulsa OK called Tally's. it is on Rt 66 and has some of the best food. Their pancakes are huge and they have a large cinnamon roll that fills an entire dinner-sized plate! It was so much fun watching you enjoy the food at this diner in NY. Now go try NY pizza, cheesecake, and bagels!
I love the comments people leave you. Your children are fantastic. We love your family. On many TV shows and movies, people ask for a cup of coffee, black, and there are lots of people who drink coffee that way. So prefer it and others may be watching their sugar intake, but probably the majority of people add sugar and milk or creamer to flavor their coffee. I often use honey. I always add it to my tea so I tried adding honey to my coffee and discovered I liked it.
As someone who lives in North Texas (Ft Worth area), I can confirm that some of the absolute best diners are the ones tucked away in the small towns where mom & dad have been working on perfecting their recipes for 50+ years, and the employees have been there for decades.
I'm in Pennsylvania... We have 3 that fit your description...The waitresses have been there for decades and understand "over medium and dead rye" and "gravy on everything"
So glad that you chose NYC for your first diner experience, now I’m just hoping that there is another NYC video in the works with your first pizza and bagels experience.
Your comment plus Atlanta's comment: "this Mexican stuff is amazing" - both made me laugh. I'm not Mexican but I would have ordered the same thing - I love huevos rancheros.
I watch way too much TH-cam. The vids I view are a wide variety of topics. From cooking channels, to reaction channels, to mystery stories. But one of my favorite channels is this one. Continued blessings to this wonderful family. Love the way your family interacts. We all understand that no family is perfect and that nothing goes well all the time, but with that said. this family is down to earth and extremely adorable. Much love from Bakersfield CA!
Diners were always family businesses, often featuring family recipes, lots of home-style foods. Today's diners are an institution, "ordinary" family foods done up right. Our local diner is "the" local hangout - everybody goes there, and if you've been there in the past year, the staff remembers you and how you like your pastrami sandwich.
You should try the classic BLT sandwich if bacon, lettuce, and tomato. I like how the family can do the continuous rotations of dishes so everyone tries everything hand have to keep the next person in mind.
I've never seen anybody eat grilled cheese with a knife and fork. @7:15 Did I just see Denzie snarf half a jalapeño in one bite, hardly flinching? I'm impressed!
I've too have wanted to open a diner but that only does breakfast and lunch, and I also want to deliver breakfast the way restaurants do dinner. I've woken up in the morning so many times wishing someone would just deliver a hot breakfast to my door. I've also thought about a food truck for breakfast that I could park in various places close to neighborhoods where people could walk up and get a hot breakfast. Watching you all has fired up my motivation. I think I'll go make breakfast. 😃
We used to live across the street from a Perkos Coffee Shop that served breakfast all day. On special days like my birthday or Mother's Day,, my husband would call our orders in and then walk across the street to pick up eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy; waffles or whatever instead of trying to cook since I'm the cook and he get freshly baked cinnamon rolls or blueberry crepes for his birthday. It's so nice when someone else cooks for your birthday.😊
I feel fortunate that I have a wide selection of diners, bakeries and restaurants that make and deliver breakfast. Move to New Jersey! I recommend our pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich on a hard roll. 😂

I love this channel and just how positive, chill and open-minded you guys are. Yes, America is big and wild and weird, but we’re people too, lol. I love that you checked out a REAL diner; I was born in Trenton, New Jersey and have lived in the NJ/NYC spotlight my entire life. People love to knock us, but this area has some of the best food and people you will ever meet! Thank you so much for showing your kids the world and best wishes for continued safe travels ❤
You guys are such a treasure to watch as a US citizen. It often feels like the world hates us. We are not so terrible as perhaps the foreign media portrays us to be.
I've seldom met an American I didn't like. But your politicians are awful. They shape the world's perception of you.
Thank you for adding this to the comments, as an American I really appreciate it.
The American media hates Americans. No wonder the perceptions.
@@Nizzleson In general, Americans don't even like American politicians.
@@Nizzlesonas an American I agree with what your saying about our politicians.they all constantly embarrass and infuriate me.and when I say all I mean ALL of the politicians😂.
So awesome! I love when Nadine said, “I’m reevaluating life in general!” 😜 Diners are awesome! I love some breakfast for dinner!
I COULD EAT BREAKFAST FOR LUNCH AND DINNER ALSO. NO PROBLEM.
@@TOBYH I could eat breakfast everyday for lunch and dinner! Diners are the best!
I’m so glad you enjoyed our food
The next time you are in an American diner you have to order the chicken fried steak with eggs and a biscuit. It will come with gravy and is delicious!
Not in the ghettos
You order that south of the Mason Dixon lol
@@Angelwatcher1624 I live in the Seattle area and chicken friend steak and eggs is a staple in diners here.
@@PedroismNYC is far from a ghetto… also yes we have chicken fried steak here too. But honestly eggs & corned beef hash or just classic eggs and bacon is more my speed.
Not up north.
Sounds of a true diner. Silverware dropping on the floor. Haha! Glad y’all liked the classic American Diner cuisine. Good ole comfort food. 🇺🇸
I drink coffee with cream and sugar!
I think most people do, some like it black but i think most enjoy sugar, flavored cream or both. 7-11 has great coffee
Me too..flavored cream
Do it! Open "A Kiwi Dinner" it would be awesome people from all over New Zealand would come. Denzel is too much, those facial expressions 😂
Just so happy to see you enjoying our wonderful country. I hope everyone treats you with love and respect. Just awesome to see such a nice family so interested in our culture.
Nice pronunciation on the huevos rancheros my friend! Looked decently legit too.
the 'fry up' you were mentioning, you can find in a lot of diners, especially in the 'South'...usually called 'skillets' fried potatoes with eggs, some kind of meat...filling breakfast for sure!
So glad you went to a diner! There are thousands of them all over the states. You can get any meal at any time. Keep having fun - such a nice family
Grilled cheese is eaten with your hands. I love grilled cheese with bacon! When I lived in Mexico for almost two years, I ate huevos rancheros almost every Saturday. I had it for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone eat one with a knife and fork before, although I have heard that some people even eat fried chicken with a knife and fork 😂.
Ninja Nadine with the CLUTCH shake save! Not all heroes wear capes.
Grilled cheese is 2 slices of orange plastic slices melted, and eaten with Campbell's tomato soup on a cold day 😊
No, cheddar cheese and served with tomato soup and a side of pickles.
@@marthamitchell9452 That is not the traditional American grilled cheese and tomato soup. It’s gotta be the kraft American cheese slices 😉
@@davegink9222 we never had those. 😂
@@davegink9222 Kraft singles are made out of cheddar cheese though. Its just melted and mixed with water/milk + plus a binding agent.
Everybody thinks that American cheese is fake, process does not mean fake.Look it up on Google
It’s common in America to ask for to go containers and take the extra food with you to graze on in your hotel room later.
I almost had a stroke when the milkshake (or whatever it was in the glass with the spoon sticking up) was almost turned over! Whew! I love how you all swap plates so every one of you can have a taste of everything! Such a great, loving family! God bless all of you! I'm so glad y'all got to come visit America!! Stay!!
Great save, Nadine. I can't get from the kitchen to the table without spilling or dropping something
So glad you made it to America! I hope you wonderful family are having a blast!
2:57. Ya'll forget to get chicken (or country) fried steak, with country gravy, eggs and hashbrowns... my all favorite!!!😋
Pancakes, griddle cakes, flap jacks... take your pick.😂
French toast is also a good one. There are so many different ways of fixing it!😊
Hey guys. Love this vid. I’m a New Yorker, a You Tuber and have kids not to much younger than you. I would have loved to know you were coming and shown you around. I know we would be fast friends. Your family reminds me of mine. Just goes to show we have more in common than differences.
Yes, most Americans drink 800 calorie Starbucks coffees with loads of sugar and cream that doesn't even taste like coffee.
Yeah, I thought that was strange when she said that. The only people I know who take their coffee black are people in the military/veterans. My dad was in the navy and said that he learned to drink black coffee because the creamer wasn’t good. Though, I’m sure it may have been improved since when he served.
Ye-ah, I don't know anyone who takes their coffee black, including my NYC born and raised husband, lol.
I usually drink my coffee black. Sometimes I'll throw a splash of milk in.
--Dan
I would have been so psyched if I randomly ran into this family walking in NYC. I LOVE their love for most things American. :)
I like open face roast beef or roast turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans and gravy (can't do without the gravy).
Yum. I like corn with my mashed potatoes and extra gravy.
I'm just glad y'all came to the USA. FINALLY! Your daughter has been wearing those Santa Cruz tee shirts so I hope you find your way to Santa Cruz, California.
Such a joy to see this. We took a family vacation to NYC in 2019 and this reminded me of my lunch at a classic delicatessen eating a Reuben sandwich. I have to say food in NYC is among the best anywhere in the US.
I have seen this family grow, and their daughter has grown into a beautiful woman.
It makes me feel really good and hungry seeing ya'll enjoy the food 😊. Im waiting for the video where Atlanta is just running around restaurants with a notepad demanding recipes 😂
I’m watching this video on Christmas Eve, and it made me so happy. Your family is too adorable and our country is better for having you visit us. Love from Arizona ❤️
👍 Those mom reflexes, awesome! Great video.
Diner resraurants started from the dinning cars in trains. Typically they had the linoleum floor squares and juke boxes on each table.
Denzie was the only one to properly eat the grilled cheese.... with his hands!
I gasped when Atlanta almost wore her drink.
The chocolate is semisweet.
The fried potatoes are a favorite of mine.
it's just so nice to watch your family having a wonderful time
My roommate in my 20s went and study abroad in New Zealand and loved it.
Love your family dynamic. I'm happy for the blessing you guys are to one another, and to us!
I love coffee, but I need cream!! Wonderful you and yours are truly enjoying our food!!
Y'all saw how much creamer was at walmart. You know we don't just drink black coffee😊
Those Roast potatoes are usually double rinsed and sit in dry seasoning about 30 minutes before pan frying or baking
It's so nice that you're enjoying your trip here in the US. Saying"hi " from California 😊
Diners are my favorite. Almost can get whatever you want and the vibe is so awesome
Huevos rancheros at one of the oldest authentic American diners. Love it.
Your comment plus Atlanta's comment: "this Mexican stuff is amazing" - both made me laugh. I'm not Mexican but I would have ordered the same thing - I love huevos rancheros.
Personally, I’m skeptical. Huevos Rancheros in NYC?
@@MrJeddYoung As do I. LOL
@@dgpatter I'm guessing the kitchen staff is largely hispanic.
@@dgpatterThat's what's great about the USA these days - you can get just

I watch way too much TH-cam. The vids I view are a wide variety of topics. From cooking channels, to reaction channels, to mystery stories. But one of my favorite channels is this one. Continued blessings to this wonderful family. Love the way your family interacts. We all understand that no family is perfect and that nothing goes well all the time, but with that said. this family is down to earth and extremely adorable. Much love from Bakersfield CA!
I really love watching your sweet family enjoy our American things. It makes me appreciate my country more~
Diners were always family businesses, often featuring family recipes, lots of home-style foods. Today's diners are an institution, "ordinary" family foods done up right. Our local diner is "the" local hangout - everybody goes there, and if you've been there in the past year, the staff remembers you and how you like your pastrami sandwich.
Those mom reflexes 💪🏼 always on point!
The filtered coffee is an American go-to. Some people like their coffee black, but a lot of others gotta put tons of creamer or milk and sugar.
It's called Uber Eats.
Go for it!!! I hope you do and are successful 👍💙 Follow your inspirations and trust your gut!
Approximately 90% of restaurants fail. I was in the restaurant business for 40 years
I feel fortunate that I have a wide selection of diners, bakeries and restaurants that make and deliver breakfast. Move to New Jersey! I recommend our pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich on a hard roll. 😂
Yum, that's looks so appetizing😋. Enjoy Fam nice video.
You don't get Juevos Rancheros in New York, you need to come to Albuquerque, New Mexico for really good Juevos! My favorite is Weck's on Louisiana south of Montgomery! Glad you're here though, have a great time! My father was was born in Queens New York in 1937!
