It seems like The government tries to instill shame into the farmers in an attempt to keep them quiet and manageable. This is my first time hearing of this because I’m not a farmer so I could be wrong. But what I do know is farmers have strength within there community like a family. We need to hear more stories. the more people that take a stand, the stronger the farmer community will be.
I would say, there has been bad media aimed at farmers for a long time, trying to make them look like evil planet polluting, money grabbing monsters. In fact the opposite is true. Many are very hard working, all hours of the day, they care for their animals, try to make and give them good food (and lots of it). I think in time farming practise needed to evolve, less chemicals but know these were promoted by the chem companies! BSE came from "nuts" made by the cattle feed industry sold to farmers as good healthy cattle food. Who was the crook there? A farmer for wanting (and trusting the feed manufacturer) good food for their animals, or the feed manufacturer, as we learn, who knows their ture intentions, money or death?

This man would have had cattle when 'mad cow diseases' resulted in people coming in and killing all their cattle because of contact. The govt had the herds killed and the corpses piled up. They were left to rot on the land until the teams that were supposed to have been disposing of the cattle could catch up. Sometimes it took weeks. To have to watch your animals all killed and watch them rotting away til someone came to clear the remains away. I dont know how anyone of them managed to get through such a horror and that says nothing of losing their livelihoods. Mad cow diseases are no laughing matter. If one tests positive sadly all will have to be culled. They treat it like our water recently in my area. There was also a contamination in low quantity about this brain eating amoeba (kills you within a week). They dumped all the water in many counties and had people unable to use any water nor bathe except for flushing the toilet.
We got a letter also. Listed animals we bought from other farms that were locked 3 and 4 year ago. Listed were some of our best and gentlest cows and the bull. What will they do when we don't get rid of them . We only had a full clear test 3 weeks before this letter. It's pure insanity what these clowns get up to at our expense.

Dear Sir, I admire you for your restraint and I sympathize with you wholly. Coming from a family of farmers and having worked in the health services, often you see things that give you much perception that civil servants never arrive at. Sitting behind a desk pushing a pen or sitting in front of a monitor with remote controls does nothing to increase one's perspectives. People are not encouraged to think anymore and those that do, are not encouraged to say anything other than that accepted burocratic regurgitation of regulations that at times doesn't seem to make much sense.

Best wishes from our farm in Kansas, USA! Something is very wrong with the Irish agriculture program. The US has almost eliminated TB in cattle and pigs since 1917 when 5% of them had TB. Last year only 230 out of 94 Million cattle had TB. It's almost unheard of here.

We had an animal kill out with lesions in the factory a few years ago but we have a good relationship with someone running that particular factory and he said the animal didn't actually have lesions that they put down that she had TB coz of a lump from a previous dirty injection and the lump was a long way from where the vet injects for the test

I would say, there has been bad media aimed at farmers for a long time, trying to make them look like evil planet polluting, money grabbing monsters. In fact the opposite is true. Many are very hard working, all hours of the day, they care for their animals, try to make and give them good food (and lots of it).
I think in time farming practise needed to evolve, less chemicals but know these were promoted by the chem companies!
BSE came from "nuts" made by the cattle feed industry sold to farmers as good healthy cattle food. Who was the crook there? A farmer for wanting (and trusting the feed manufacturer) good food for their animals, or the feed manufacturer, as we learn, who knows their ture intentions, money or death?

As for those "nuts" or as we call it here - cow cake, they where made with dead animal waste, such as sheep. There's a disease Sheep can get, called scrapie, awasting diseaae and its believed that's where BSE came from. The disgusting thing is how those feed suppliers got away with it.

This man would have had cattle when 'mad cow diseases' resulted in people coming in and killing all their cattle because of contact. The govt had the herds killed and the corpses piled up. They were left to rot on the land until the teams that were supposed to have been disposing of the cattle could catch up. Sometimes it took weeks. To have to watch your animals all killed and watch them rotting away til someone came to clear the remains away. I dont know how anyone of them managed to get through such a horror and that says nothing of losing their livelihoods.
Sometimes awful things need to be done in the name of disease but there are right ways and wrong ways of doing them. Some ass having their prime rib in their comfy home that probably doesn't even know what a cow looks like sends out a notification like that and not caring one bit about it and what they've done means. It's just plain sick. Although I feel I know exactly what he is going through I doubt I really can, I'm not standing there. A good hardworking man, having his cattle treated like they are nothing but a number. They are animals but they are individuals known and cared for and loved by those of us who have them. There aren't enough tears sometimes.
It's all done to kill YOU OFF, simple. Yes for a person with cattle to see them killed and rot is real horror, will totally destroy the person - but know, THAT's THEIR INTENTION!

Mad cow diseases are no laughing matter. If one tests positive sadly all will have to be culled. They treat it like our water recently in my area. There was also a contamination in low quantity about this brain eating amoeba (kills you within a week). They dumped all the water in many counties and had people unable to use any water nor bathe except for flushing the toilet.
We got a letter also. Listed animals we bought from other farms that were locked 3 and 4 year ago. Listed were some of our best and gentlest cows and the bull. What will they do when we don't get rid of them . We only had a full clear test 3 weeks before this letter. It's pure insanity what these clowns get up to at our expense.

Dear Sir, I admire you for your restraint and I sympathize with you wholly. Coming from a family of farmers and having worked in the health services, often you see things that give you much perception that civil servants never arrive at. Sitting behind a desk pushing a pen or sitting in front of a monitor with remote controls does nothing to increase one's perspectives. People are not encouraged to think anymore and those that do, are not encouraged to say anything other than that accepted burocratic regurgitation of regulations that at times doesn't seem to make much sense.

Best wishes from our farm in Kansas, USA! Something is very wrong with the Irish agriculture program. The US has almost eliminated TB in cattle and pigs since 1917 when 5% of them had TB. Last year only 230 out of 94 Million cattle had TB. It's almost unheard of here.

We had an animal kill out with lesions in the factory a few years ago but we have a good relationship with someone running that particular factory and he said the animal didn't actually have lesions that they put down that she had TB coz of a lump from a previous dirty injection and the lump was a long way from where the vet injects for the test
