Can't believe you only have 1,5k subscribers, easily one of the best channels of this particular niche. You have a new sub, keep up the good work! Can't wait to see where this channel is headed!
@@TheProgSchool to be fair that's a big stretch in the lick too when it's in tune ahahah thank you for doing what you can to let us laymen digest it a little better
This is excellent man. I just found your channel and of course the next new video you put out is over one of my favorite guitarists Plini lol. You’re awesome dude - I’m learning a ton on how to decipher these rhythms thanks to you.
Wow, it would be so fun and challenging to write some new music with you. Admire your insightful simplification of some of the most technical Prog music out there. I can Tell music is also your first language. Math must be your intuition. English is just a proxy for you to allow others to understand your perspective of reality. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Keep it up brother! - Dallas
I very much appreciate this. Congrats and thank you for this content and analysis, new sub here 🙋♂. I LOVE Plini´s music. Is there any chance for you taking another dive into rhythms and harmonies of another of his songs? 🙏. Paper Moon is the one that introduced me 🤟. Anyway, i´ll be checking your channel for sure. This, for me, is wholesome content. Thanks again.
Thank you so much! I don't have any plans on covering more Plini at the moment (I try not to repeat artists too much). Though I'm sure his music will come up again at some point!
Thanks dude! Unfortunately I’m not a big Polyphia fan, and I don’t really consider their music to be terribly progressive. Obviously incredible players, just not my cup of tea. A 101, rookie series is a good idea though! Maybe some simplified lessons for those getting into Prog. I’ll think about it.
@@TheProgSchool Alright! What about The Contortionist by Their Docs Were Astronauts? It has similar polyrhythms as Animals as Leaders. I would love to learn how to play progressive metal (bass primarily) but I just don’t know where to start :(
The question is..does Plini even know about this? 😄 I can imagine he just thought afterwards "yeah there are some time signature changes". Btw i have tabs and backing track for the whole album and I never passed this song because of rythm was putting me off.
Such a shame I discovered this 2 years later.. Amazing analysis, thank you so much for making this!
You’re welcome!

Thanks so much! I have seen some decent growth in the last month, so hopefully that will be a much larger number soon. Glad to have you here!
Love this, man! Plini’a a huge inspiration for me so it’s nice to hear such a detailed breakdown of his music!
You're welcome! This was fun one to dive into!
Excellent break-down of a modern masters work!!!
Thank you!
Gratitude
you're welcome!!
first video i've found where you get as close as "good enough" xD to that intro descending lick. Thank you for this video bro helped me out a lot.
You're welcome!! Honestly I could have done that intro lick better, but I was in the wrong tuning haha

Dude! Good job! Solid work. Do Polyphia next! Or a 101 or rookies prog metal series. Either way: You got yourself a new subscriber!

He might have just felt it out, that's pretty common. Then it's up to me to go and figure it out haha
Yeah, but can you play "Smoke on the Water"? Awesome video.
Funnily enough I used to play Smoke on the Water in a cover band I was in, solo and all! So yes, I can play Smoke on the Water 😂😂
@@TheProgSchool It's the only song I can play.
