I love how much Akala and Lowkey are loved and respected within the real hip hop community. They deserve it and I'm so glad they represent british HipHop

@TheBbg83 Indeed, I'll second that. There was never such a thing that could ever have been identified as even similar to hip hop in Africa, nor is it still anywhere near as prevalent there as it is in the western hemisphere (nor will it ever be, in my honest opinion).

@FREEZINGWEAZEL - i think he said we have to question why certain rappers are being hoisted up in this manner...don't think he was saying it was wrong out right to visit White House. I do agree and share your sentiment that we should avoid trying to identify individual or collective enemies - this type of approach can prove counter productive to our shared ideals - i think approach should be framed as what behaviors, messages or values serve our collective well being as humans & which do not.

hip-hop wasn't an african oral tradition is started in the bronx in 73.. where all cultures that where in the bronx took part, but the guy who is credited for starting hip-hop (DJ Kool Herc) was a Jamaican immigrant.. apart from that this video was good.
@TheTruth8018 I agreed with you until I saw you mention 2pac...yes he made a tunes about ghettos & poverty but that was also his reality. He spoke the truth and went against the elite to try and make us see what really goes on. Pac also had songs on many different topics he werent one minded...Anyway this video is one of the best on SBTV
@shottawayne No, you need to analyse what he's saying is that when you eat at a shitty restaurant you may think that all of the food in that area is shitty.
This can be related to hip hop because people who don't like hip hop often times say 'Oh well all the Artists ever talk about is girls, cars and money' when actually if you look hardest enough there are rappers who rap about real stuff. Same as you could probably find a good restaurant in that area.

tbf i havnt got a problem with his verse delivery, but i don't think he can nail a chorus which doesnt matter if your just a pure rap fan, but u cnt expect it to get mainsteam success.
