Good morning Diane, what a Real pleasure, before going to work, to see you painting. I love your daffodils, and your paintings, Such a combinaison of grâce and techniques, and a very string feel of" knowing what you do" Thank you, i Hope you will have a very nice day
Good morning Valerie and thanks so much for your lovely comment! Wishing you a very good day too, and hope you enjoy painting some of my tutorials today!
Golly, you called it on the 'give up and go back to watercolour pencils. Spent all day yesterday learning what not to do, but I did learn and ended up with one I was pleased with \o/. The drip cloth is there for a reason.
I stopped painting for a while because I made so many mistakes then gave myself a good talking to and went back with determination. The mistakes are still there but now they don’t matter ‘coz there is only me looking 😂❤
Thank you so much for your tutorials. I am loving these as you are using all my favourite flowers. Have you considered having a place were we can share our efforts?
Hi and thanks for your comments! Yes, we actually have three facebook groups which are for people to share their work on which is based on or inspired by our channel - just search Facebook for Diane Antone Studio and you’ll find the groups.
Diane, this is so lovely. I will give it a try! Do you put the water wash on the entire piece or just the upper section where you're going to paint the sky?
Hello 👋 I am curious about the differences between W&N , schmincke and old holland ? The pros and the cons 🙏🏼😊do you prefer one over the others? thank you 🎨
Hi Maria, thanks for your lovely comments, and question about the different paint brands. I can offer a few thoughts about them... I've used both W&N and Schmincke for 40 years, but I feel the quality (intensity of pigment and stability of mixing) of both has decreased a little recently, while the prices seem high. That's why I searched for a different brand to try, and landed on Old Holland because I saw a video about how they make their paints in the Netherlands, still using the traditional methods. I was pleased when they arrived to find that they are very intense, very smooth and very good mixers. They are cheaper for me than Daniel Smith as I'm in France, so I splashed out and spent all my pocket money on a score of tubes! Hope this helps!
@@DianeAntoneStudio Thank you så much. I tried old holland once and are they a bit more slow flowing than other brands? I have some scmincke but I was curious of w&n , I’m just a bit confused. 😅👩🎨🎨🎉
@@mariamyre9778 To be honest I don’t think there’s any real difference between them. Some of the colours vary for example ultramarine blue is very different depending on which brand you buy, but really it doesn’t make a great deal of difference to the finished painting in my opinion. As long as you are using artists quality paint you will find they are all fairly consistent in their behaviour. On the other hand If you use a cheap set of paints which are intended for occasional student use like those palettes with large numbers of very pretty but chalky colours, you will find them frustrating. But if you use student colours for example Windsor and Newton Cotman you will be okay.
@@DianeAntoneStudio 😃 thank you so much , again 😊. I just have to get to know my colours and papers better, and practice a lot more 😅🎨🎉👩🎨I am happy to have found your TH-cam channel, you explain and show watercolour beautifully 👌you make it look so easy. Have a great day 🎨🎉
hello Dianne. I'm argentine. I'm retired and I live in the countryside. I love your manner to paint and your pacient for the beginners but it is very difficult to understand the details, all the tips ... could you to subtitle your relates? it would very important to spanish speakers. thank you very much.
Hello Isabel, thank you for your message. I have good news!! There is a new feature on TH-cam which allows you to have subtitles in any language on any video!! First you turn on the subtitles in English, then you go to the settings (the cog icon), select "Auto-translate", and choose your language. The translation will not be perfect because it is automatic, but I hope it will help you!!
