As someone who is making aliyah right now, I can tell you that it's not a easy process. I had to wait up to 4 months now, starting from the date I entered Israel, and finally almost finishing it. A lot of it is due to the fact that I had to work with agency that does interview for Russian immigrants, even tho I have chinese citizenship, and because of the on-going war there are lots of russians making aliyah. Also there were a lot of hoildays during Sep-Nov. It was definitely not the most productive and enjoyable 4 months of my life, with a tourist visa and no help for ulpan I had to study hebrew by myself and just wait for when I can apply for jobs. So I would say it is a life-changing decision that takes a lot of effort, time and courage. Your channel has helped me a lot for learning hebrew! Keep up the good content.

Elsa, I admire your spirit, great humor and perserverance. I had to learn French in a very short time for a new job and I was often staring at the ceiling during business meetings in Paris. My brain was always several steps behind the group conversation. So I learned to absorb, synthesize and only to speak at the end with something meaningful. Merci beacoup!

My husband is Italian living in America and has been trying to get his Italian citizenship for like a year or 2 and will take longer. So 2 months plus a free plane ticket wow!
Vraiment très sympa. Elle a bien fait de préciser à la fin qu'il est vraiment très important de parler hébreu en Israël pour s'intégrer. Maintenant il ne faut pas croire qu'après quelques mois d'Oulpan qu'on peut parler comme elle parle. Elle avait visiblement un très bon niveau d'hébreu avant et le fait de vivre avec un Israélien a dû énormément l'aider. En tout cas de je me suis abonné c'est très sympa.
10:44 just an English tip 😁, it's better to say "gone through the process". "Undergone the procedure" sounds like it was a surgery / type of medical procedure.

Things are far more casual, the people are warmer and closer and the culture more like Israeli culture in Marseille. It's a Mediterranean thing I guess!

למדתי כמה דברים שלא ידעתי על העלייה. עלייה זה גם מילה בשפה הערבית באותו משמעות בוודאי משורש ע-ל-י וגם שם יפה מאוד של הבנות. אם אתה מכיר המלך חוסיין של ירדן, אישתו המלכה קוראים לה עלייה ואם תלך לירדן, המטוס ינחת בנמל תעופה המלכה עלייה הבינ"ל.
וגם עלייה הייתה הקראש הראשונהו האחרון שלי, אהבתי אותה מאוד אבל הייתה מבוגרת ממני בחמשה שנים אז אראה לה כילד כאשר הייתי בתיכון..😢🤷🏻♂️

I love Israel so much and I want to move there but only my dad is jewish and from his dad's side but I grew up celebrating jewish holidays but would that be enough for the law of return?
I think, if your Grandfa is a Jew from his Mother's side and you can prove it by means of documents, you are entitled to move to Israel (until its newly elected Parliament implements amendments into the Hok haShvut). My Dad is 100% Jewish but Mom was Russian however the deplorable point is that neither my Dad nor my wife or little son want to move from Russia to Israel, and I feel very sad because of that)))
I believe it is possible but the process will be more difficult and complicated

It is still possible, no changes to the law yet.
It still applies to Jews, Jews' children and grandchildren. What you need is you jewish grandma's birth certificate. If she was buried at the jewish cemetery or belonged to a local jewish community - that would also help
