    Love aviation. I have been working on airplanes and helicopters for over 20 years. I have flown a few hours on the books when I was going for my pilots license didn’t finish but you’re videos are encouraging me to finish.

    Nice Scott. Love the turbine Brave. Here in Ms most guys fly Airtractor 602s or 802s some Thrushs. I got to fly in a 602 a couple times years ago (yep single seat) totally amazing! Hope to see you in the 🦊 soon!

    Another awesome video Scott! Best camera footage from an Ag plane on TH-cam. Love the narration on what you’re spraying and why. I’m in ag research so it’s neat to compare what you’re doing to what we’re doing. Keep the videos coming.

    Damn, and I have trouble just holding ground effect over a nice flat runway. Maybe its just that I'm near stall for TO and landing and its wouldn't be as bad at a modest speed. I'm also on the west side so large trees, steep hills, and populated areas along with all the extra airspace layers. hard to even imagine a runway with any significant clearway.

    Maybe you should talk to Grumman about an external fuel tank. I'll bet that you aren't the only Ag pilot that is sick to death of 100 mile cross country legs.

    Why are crop duster planes low wingers and pretty much never high wingers?
    I'm missing something, there must be a reason.

      nvm, the engine design is from the 60s and the plane design is a slightly modified 50s design...fuel efficiency was clearly not on the top design criteria...

      @@f.dt.f3965 I knew a guy that rode motorcycles for 40 years on a learners permit. Somehow talked his way out of tickets.(although had his license totally revoked numerous times for drunk driving, racing, fighting cops, etc. Not a close friend, he was just that wildman in a small town who everybody seems to be loosely acquainted with, spends a few nights per year sleeping in the local holding cell.)

    I spend a lot of summer weekends flying sailplanes out of Ephrata, WA [excepting in 2020, of course]... Will have to work my way over to your neck of the woods and give it a wave next summer!

      He was flying out of S94 (Port of Whitman Business Air Center), so I'm not sure why he's referring to it as "Whiskey Creek". Maybe it was a misidentification somewhere? (94E is Whiskey Creek airport down in New Mexico.)

    Interesting, I always thought Farmers did their own crop dusting. So they pay people to do it for them, are you a pay by job basis or a contract with these Farmers? If it is a contract, what's the farthest you've gone to complete a job?

    Back in the late 80's we would load the 600hp ag cat with every pound it would take and still (crossing fingers) get off the ground, to the end in the mud pit we called it full throttle hold the brakes and off ya go clear to the other end (2650ft) and out under the lines! (asking the pilot how was that for weight? he says not to heavy not to light i got off the ground so it was JUST RIGHT! (back when it was seat of your pants flying no scales avionics that work half the time )

    Nice helmet never use microfiber cloth on it to put real fine swirl marks in it only use 100% cotton on those goggles that are integrated into that helmet.

    Here in Davenport washington. I don't farm. But my house is on 5 Acer's. With 1000s Acer's of my neighbors wheat around my property. Every year. I get a free air show. From our local crop duster. Got pic of his plane 100 feet off the top of my roof. Cool as hell.

    Man, all that's pretty fancy bling. My father had an old underpowered Agwagon, no helmet or fancy visor, light bar, or flat fields. '70s was still old school. Looks way easier now.
